Eco-Socialists, Urbanization Myths, and High-Density Housing

Sat, 2023-04-08 00:00 +0000

Suburbia? Rural? You ARE the problem. You are preventing “Nature” from returning to its “natural” state (no mention that people are part of Nature as well as flora and fauna).  Why else would NH Governor Chris Sununu (heh!) side with Democrat CA Gov Gavin Newsom and Democrat NY Gov Kathy Hochul (and lest I forget, the UN as well) that advances higher density living? Oh, they won’t all say the quiet part out loud – it’s always about “workforce / affordable” housing, but it is the same thing.

So what’s the reality about “urban sprawl,” which means we all should be “cityfied”?

Urbanization by State

The share of land in the United States that is urbanized grew from 2.90 percent in 2010 to 2.94 percent in 2020, according to data recently released by the Census Bureau showing how many square miles of land in each state was urbanized as of 2020. This can be compared with 2010 data and the total land area of each state to calculate what percentage had been urbanized in each of the two years.

Oh, about that affordability that is supposed to come with higher density? Any Ec-101/102 student should immediately say “Supply and Demand” and “Government is artificially constricting the Supply of Land,” resulting in this:

Thanks to its strict land-use regulation, including urban-growth boundaries that are nearly impossible to adjust, California still has the densest urban areas of any state in the nation. In fact, the state packs more than 94 percent of its population into just 5 percent of its land area, an urban concentration found in no other state.

Despite claims that increasing densities are the solution to housing affordability problems, the states with the densest urban areas tend to be least affordable and their affordability declines as they get denser. California has the least affordable housing in the country, and other states with dense urban populations, including Hawaii, New Jersey, New York, and Oregon, are also among the least affordable. Few if any urban areas whose densities are below 3,000 people per square mile have problems with high housing prices.

There’s a chart at the link with more details.

Fetterman Story is a Sad Tale

Fri, 2023-04-07 22:30 +0000

The John Fetterman saga is not one to take lightly. This man has many demons in his life, yet his wife, family, and supporters selfishly pushed him on to campaign and win the open Senate seat in Pennsylvania. This man should concentrate on getting well, not going through the motions of serving the people of the Keystone State in Washington.

John Fetterman was 37 years old when he became Mayor of Braddock, Pennsylvania, in 2006. Braddock is a run-down version of its former thriving blue-collar town in Southwest Pennsylvania. Braddock is a town of 2,100, far from the 21,000 who called it home when it was a bustling mining and manufacturing town. Fetterman was never a savvy politician, but when you listen to videos from his early days, he was unpolished but could formulate coherent thoughts. He can no longer string together a complete sentence.

Fetterman ran unsuccessfully for the Senate in 2016 but was successful in his quest for the Lieutenant Governor job in 2019. He held that position until the day that he took the oath as Senator in January 2023. The Associated Press investigated Fetterman’s commitment to the Lt Governor job and found that he could only account for thirty percent of his workdays in six months. His primary focus was on the legalization of marijuana and the commutation of sentences of many Pennsylvania inmates. He started his campaign for the Senate in 2021.

Fetterman suffered a near-fatal stroke on May 13, 2022, just four days before the Democrat Primary, which he won handily. He did not pull out of the general election. Fetterman limited his campaign activities and only agreed to one debate with Mehmet Oz. He got through the debate with the aid of a computer reader to help him comprehend the questions. He had the same technology installed at his spot in the Senate chambers to help him keep up with debate and comments on the floor. Fetterman’s performance was abysmal, but over one million voters had already cast their votes.

Shortly after the State of the Union address this year, Fetterman was thought to have had another stroke. He checked himself into Walter Reed Army Medical Center to be treated for depression and anxiety. Fetterman remained at Walter Reed until last Friday, when he was released. He plans to return to the Senate the week of April 17.

Fetterman’s comments upon his release are disturbing. He claims he was indifferent to life and had suffered from clinical depression for some time. “I had stopped leaving my bed,” he said. “I had stopped eating. I was dropping weight. I had stopped engaging some of the things that I love in my life.”

There are two sides to this story. On one side, we are all empathetic to his plight and wish Fetterman well in a long recovery from the mental and emotional challenges. He will be battling these while still recovering from his stroke. On the flip side, these issues were not presented to the people of Pennsylvania while they were deciding on who would fill the vacant Senate seat. Objectively, he should resign and concentrate on his health. His wife should explain why she let him endure the rigors of the campaign, knowing how he was suffering.

One thing is for sure, the people of Pennsylvania deserve better representation, but they should have seen the writing on the wall before they cast their vote. If not, they were not paying attention and got what they deserved.

The Left’s Net Zero Colonialism Will Kill Billions of Brown People

Fri, 2023-04-07 21:00 +0000

The improbability of Net Zero as achievable or as a means to prevent the climate cult’s world-ending apocalypse mythology (were it even true) has done little to slow the progressive pursuit of it. They seem almost giddy at the thought of how many lives could be lost.

If not giddy, then indifferent.

We’ve reported on the inhuman, almost slave-like conditions at mines in third-world countries. The environmental damage from these projects is generational. But the Climateers dismiss it and forge ahead. Industry oligarchs are happy to reap the whirlwind of financial rewards without fear of being labeled racist human traffickers or polluters. And generations not yet born can’t punish today’s politicians for a life of debt and taxes for which they had no chance to vote.

None of this concerns the Left. So, what about this?

Net Zero policies will significantly reduce global food production.

The recent experience in Sri Lanka provides a red alert. “The world has just witnessed the collapse of the once bountiful agricultural sector of Sri Lanka as a result of government restrictions on mineral fertilizer.”5 The government of Sri Lanka banned the use of fossil fuelderived nitrogen fertilizers and pesticides, with disastrous consequences on food supply there. If similarly misguided decisions are made eliminating fossil fuels and thus nitrogen fertilizer, there will be a starvation crisis worldwide.

The early estimates are that 40-60% of the world could starve absent fossil-fuel-derived fertilizers, pesticides, and farming. Does anyone doubt that 40-60 percent of those starved would be brown people? Human beings do not want to be poor. They want cheap, reliable energy and the ability to use it to improve and lengthen not just life but its quality. If not for them, then for their children.

Irony Alert

The leading global lights behind this man-caused mass extinction of brown people also wear the mantle of their protector. And how ironic is it that the same people that rant endlessly about the evils of colonialism are projecting it from The West, into their lives, through energy policy?

Related: If Climate Change “Colonialism” is a Real Thing Greta, Your Whole Movement is Doomed

Millions, if not billions, could starve due not to the environmental damage of net-zero-industry but the absence of agricultural capacity, which is only possible with the tools and technology the Green insist we must abandon.

All because a few Marxist-minded Western globalists, primarily rich white men and women, wrecked the supply chain and the food supply in the name of a phantom boogeyman (CO2) without which life on earth – especially agriculture – is impossible.

And you thought we were joking when we said you were the carbon they want reduced.

If Net-Zero is allowed to move forward as policy and then in practice, energy will become unaffordable, agriculture will become impossible on the scale needed to feed us, and many people will die of starvation.

Hungry people deprived of food don’t stay put.

The promised mass migrations alluded to because of “man-made” climate change will occur instead in response to man-made policies like Net-Zero imposed to mitigate it. There will be violence, war, instability, chaos, a breakdown of modern society, and a lot of death. More dead in fewer years than all of the misery and death attributed to colonialism.

Thanks to progressive anti-colonialists pursuing an impossible goal to solve a non-problem.

And this is why they censor so much.  A bit of a personal story (formatting & links in the original):

This is, by the way, why the Left so nastily attacks conservative ideas – for fear that the above revelation, as happened to me, might happen to others. Take their utter hatred for Rush Limbaugh (and Conservative talk radio in general). For years I had heard only the worst about him. Racist. Misogynist. Selfish. Hater!!!!!!!!! I very deliberately avoided listening to him because of what my peers said about him. One day I was radio-channel surfing in my car and I stumbled across a man talking. I didn’t know who he was, but he had a nice voice and what he said intrigued me. I listened to him, agreeing with most everything and accepting the well-laid-out persuasiveness of his argumentation on the remainder, when he identified himself before a commercial break.

I was utterly floored. I had been assured that Rush was one small step away from the Devil Himself, but I’m agreeing with him. Again, that’s weird…; Rush had two books out – The Way Things Ought to Be and See, I Told You So – so I bought them at a used book store and devoured them. Wow. Even, at the time, still believing myself a liberal I found very little to disagree with him. It was then that I realized: maybe I’m not a liberal.

Leftists cannot handle dissent, because it would introduce thoughts that might call into question their beliefs.  It might cause people to think.

Now… I have said for years, and it’s in my bio/blurb, that I am a Zionist Jew.  But it is time, I believe, for the umbilical cord to be cut.  For several reasons.

First, America cannot afford it.

Second, it’s a sore point for the ethno-nationalists.

Third, it creates an apron-string dependency and makes Israel a client state of America.

IMHO, Israel is strong enough to stand on its own given some period of weaning.  For both Israel’s sake and America’s sake, this needs to happen.

Trans or Die: The Ideological Blindness of a Dartmouth Health Endocrinologist

Fri, 2023-04-07 15:00 +0000

The pressure parents face from Dartmouth Health to medically transition their gender-confused children was brought to light in a guest editorial by endocrinologist Francis Lim-Liberty, MD.

Related: The Trans Suicide Myth and Blackmail Politics

“I see a patient whose parent has been refusing to sign a consent form for gender-affirming hormone therapy for three years,” she writes. Although she promises to administer hormones as soon as her client turns 18, “my biggest fear manifested, would she make it to her 18th birthday just three months away? I worry I won’t see her again.”

In her February 17 Concord Monitor op-ed, “But what if you’re wrong and they’re right? Listening to our trans kids,” Lim-Liberty appears so immersed in Transgenderism that she’s unable to weigh the consequences of administering opposite-sex hormones or to question whether children with gender dysphoria really are at immediate risk of suicide without them.

Although child-transing advocacy group The Trevor Project provides astronomical suicide rates from self-report surveys solicited on social media, if Lim-Liberty dug deeper she would know that suicide among trans-identified youth is rare. Dr. Riittakerttu Kaltiala, Finland’s leading child gender expert, has warned physicians that telling parents their children are in immediate risk of suicide without hormone therapy or that medical transitioning relieves suicidality is  “purposeful disinformation.”

Lim-Liberty shares another trans-or-die story about Nick, who had been scheduled to start hormone therapy, but whose parents are reconsidering consent. “His parents worried about Nick changing his mind.” Although she concedes that she has “little data” on how often children later regret their transitions, she flips the question, “But what if he doesn’t change his mind? What happens then?”

With a little research, she could better answer her own question: Children who are spared puberty blockers and hormones will also be spared “extensive and irreversible adverse consequences such as cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, infertility, increased cancer risk, and thrombosis,” According to a policy statement from Sweden. “This makes it challenging to assess the risk/benefit for the individual patient, and even more challenging for the minors or their guardians to be in a position of an informed stance regarding these treatments.”

Contrary to Lim-Liberty’s reassurance, the rate of regret appears to be accelerating since gender-affirming care has become popular. A 2021 study from an adult gender clinic found that 10% of those receiving gender-affirming care detransitioned or showed a pattern of detransitioning within 16 months. Another 22% disengaged without completing the treatment. The authors concluded “detransitioning might be more frequent than previously reported.”

A 2022 study from a UK primary care practice showed that 12% of patients who started hormonal therapy either detransitioned or expressed regret, while a total of 20% stopped the treatment for a wider range of reasons.

Lim-Liberty offers parents a false dichotomy: The vast majority of children who aren’t affirmed in their belief that they are the opposite gender outgrow their dysphoria. In the most recent and largest study of gender dysphoric youth, 87% were content living as their natal sex when they reached adulthood.

She doesn’t seem to see a downside to hormone therapy. Citing one of the two Dutch studies that serve as the foundation for Dartmouth Health’s puberty-blockers-to-hormones regiment, she asserts that “We know that transgender individuals who received gender-affirming hormone therapy earlier, rather than waiting until completion of puberty . . .  had better outcomes in adulthood.” If she had read the actual studies instead of just the abstract she cited, she would know that they proved no such thing.

Among the significant flaws in the studies, the subjects received psychotherapy as well as hormones, but there was no control group. Consequently, we don’t know if their modest short-term improvements in mental health were due to psychotherapy or hormones. Also, those studies didn’t take into account the significant medical consequences of opposite-sex hormones.

Aside from these shortcomings, the Dutch studies aren’t applicable to Lim-Liberty’s practice because they focused on an entirely different population. In contrast to the gender affirmation model practiced in the US, the Dutch researchers selected children who had gender dysphoria from early childhood and who had “no serious comorbid psychiatric disorders.” They also screened out children with autism whose dysphoria might have evolved “from a general feeling of just being different.”

The gender affirming care model assumes that coexisting mental health problems are caused by “minority stress,” and will improve with hormones and surgery. This means that even mentally-ill children are qualified to diagnose themselves and decide their treatment path. As Dartmouth Health Gender Clinic Director John Turco has said, “There is only one test I know of to determine gender identity, and that is to ask the person.”

Lim-Liberty’s unqualified enthusiasm for child transing raises the question as to whether she and her colleagues have even considered why, after systematic reviews of the research, Norway, England, Sweden, and Finland have dropped the affirmative care model as dangerous and ineffective.

Lim-Liberty ends on a happy note by describing transgender siblings. “They are both on gender-affirming hormone therapy, doing well.” Given the long odds of two trans-identifying children in one family, a curious physician might want to explore whether there were environmental factors at play, but Transgenderism isn’t open to scrutiny.

NH Ballot Law Commissioner (Democrat) Kathy Sullivan Voted NO to Send the Gargiulo Report to the AG & Secretary of State

Fri, 2023-04-07 13:30 +0000

Kathy Sullivan is a former NH State Democrat party chairman and a former Vice-Chair of the Democrat National Committee. It is safe to say that she is plugged into that count every vote narrative.

Given all the noise over the years from the Democrat Party about disenfranchising voters, you’d think Sullivan would WELCOME efforts to ensure votes cast by Democrats are rightfully and lawfully counted. Isn’t that how “the game” is supposed to be played? A lawful resident goes in and votes, and of course, it SHOULD be counted correctly.

Then why the NO vote, Kathy? Even Kevin Landrigan of the Union Leader gave the hearing a positive report (“spank’em when they’re wrong and thank’em when they’re right!).

Reformatted, emphasis mine:

Gargiulo claims that election officials made numerous errors in the handling, reporting and the counting of ballots in his District 24 election race. He stressed he wasn’t appealing his loss by more than 3,700 votes to Stratham Democratic Sen. Debra Altschiller, but wanted the Ballot Law Commission to see the analysis of his volunteers who spent 700 hours uncovering what he said were numerous problems. “This tells me we have a fundamental issue that nobody is addressing,” Gargiulo said after a one-hour presentation of his report from his lawyer, Corey MacDonald.

If a town continues to fail, (it) needs to be penalized, maybe financially, maybe criminally but they need to be penalized.

Here is the report:

Lou Ballat Irregularties Election Voting Presentation April 5, 2023

(hover over the file and the navigation bar will show up at the bottom of the page)

Landrigan pointed out what my video of the reporting laid out about all the mistakes and all the different kinds of mistakes that were made. Go read his enumeration of the tales, but I will provide a couple of conclusions from the NHBC members:

  • Secretary Scanlan said the report contained a lot of “good constructive criticism.”
  • Ballot Law Commission member David Campbell of Nashua, a former Democratic House member, praised the report’s approach. “This is very thorough and very thoughtful, and I think the commission appreciates the non-accusatory tone of it,” Campbell added.

Back to Kathy Sullivan.

Ah, but I’m a cynical kind of guy that, after over a decade and a half of listening to their nonsense, knows that she (and the rest of the Democrat “Disenfranchisement Decriers”) is playing a different kind of game. It isn’t that HER voters are getting disenfranchised (well, their actions may be doing it to some of their voters, but they don’t care). It is that their Opposition voters should be disenfranchised by whatever means. Sorry / not sorry, but failure points can be used for “opportunities.”

My analogy for when I was writing software still stands – 20% of time and effort to achieve the purpose but 80% spent on defending against stupid people and people with bad intentions.  Listening to the report findings, there were certainly a lot of exploits of the system (whether by stupidity, laziness, or deliberate is beyond my ken – they just were there) found by the volunteers.

Remember, it isn’t WHO votes. It’s who COUNTS the votes. What the report showed is that there were numerous failure points from the time that the ballots entered the machine (some done by voters themselves) through to the recount.

So, she voted NO to sending the findings onward to the AG and SecState.  One would think that a reasonable person, one that treasures accurate, reproducible, and transparent results, would be happy to have those two offices “plug the holes” and monitor to see that any “upgrades” were meticulously followed.

Nope, not Kathy Sullivan, and she said so herself – a one-word answer: “NO.”

One only has to ask her a one-word question: “Why?”  If I were to ask that of her, she’d run away (like she did during the TEA Party movement when I caught her on the field and approached her with my then-new FlipCam to ask her what she thought about TEA Partiers. I got the same one-word answer then as her Ballot Commission answer:

NO.

‘Nuff said. My interpretation is that she, as a proxy for the Democrat Party, LIKE all those failure points and is RATHER steamed that some “nobodies that should have stayed out of her business” discovered them with Bright Flashlights.

And that last quote from Lou about punishment for those involved in the ballot process who refuse to mend their ways?  I think that was the point that she knew the jig was up.

I agree with Lou – just look what happened when (Belknap County) NH State Rep Mike Bordes voted to repeal any criminal charges stemming from performing an abortion after 24 weeks. Without the penalties, the entire bill has been neutered, and its purpose nullified.  Didn’t have to repeal the entire bill, just the part that punishes wrongdoers. Just think of San Francisco and all the “legal” (less than $900/incident) shoplifting.

No punishment means that there is nothing to fear for consequences.  Decisions SHOULD have consequences. Removing consequences such as these create Lawlessness.

Thanks, Kathy!

So Kids, What Did We Learn From This Week’s House Session (04/06/23)?

Fri, 2023-04-07 12:00 +0000
So Kids, What Did We Learn From This Week’s House Session (04/06/23)?

We learned that India and NH have good business relations. The Ambassador from India, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, was warmly welcomed to House chambers at the start of House Session, with members of the Senate in attendance. He spoke about the great work India is doing in many sectors of the economy and that NH is a great working partner with Indian run and Indian owned businesses.

We learned that after passing the committee amendment for HB2 (The Budget Trailer Bill) we took all morning to vote on 17 other amendments on that bill. A good amount of NH trees were used to make paper to print out all those amendments (plus more that did not come up for a vote) for 400 state reps to have in their seat pockets. Much time, taxpayer money, and effort was spent to print up so many pages that ultimately ended up in recycle bins at the end of the day.

We learned that of those 17 amendments, only 7 of them passed. The most important one was the bi-partisan deal struck by Majority Leader Osborne and Minority Leader Wilhelm (1336h) which included Emergency Power Reform language from HB127, made $15 million appropriation to the Affordable Housing Fund, removed some Education Funding Account language, added in the Ladd/Luneau education formula language, increased Medicaid provider rates, added $5 million to System of Care and $2 million for family resource centers. That amendment passed 326-63. We’ll see how all that fares in the Senate.

We learned that other amendments that passed were 1288h (247-Yes 139-No) to require law enforcement agencies provide public notice of immigration checkpoints, 1299h (241-Yes, 143-No) deleting a section of the budget bill relative to Northern Border Patrol program funding and appropriation (proponents claimed that should be paid for by the Feds), 1295h (249-Yes, 136-No) deleting a section of the budget bill that would have deleted the 16 person cap on the number of auxiliary state police forces. I understand we don’t want a police state, but if NH has an illegal immigration problem then we can look to these votes to see why.

We learned that 1292h passed (199-Yes, 187-No) that deleted the section in the budget bill that limited the retirement system eligibility for full time community college system employees to only those participating prior to January 1 2024. Those employees will be happy to learn that their retirement benefit will not change with this budget.NH taxpayers may not be as happy.

We learned that 2 other amendments both passed on voice votes having to do with a changes to civics education bill language (1272h) and the historic horse racing implementation date (1328h). Both made minor changes to bill language for bills that were already passed in the House.

We learned one of the amendments that did not pass was 1290h which would have eliminated the accelerated phase out of the Interest and Dividends tax (190-Yes,199-No). House Democrats are very upset that they couldn’t stop the retirement of this tax on old people and their investment savings.

We also learned that 1313h died (191-Yes, 197-No) that would have changed the language in the budget bill regarding how money is appropriated to the department of education from the education trust fund and the general fund and it changed the percentage of receipts coming to the trust fund from the Business Profits Tax and Business Enterprise tax.

We also learned that 1273h, the amendment to legalize the possession and use of cannabis for persons 21 years and older did not pass as the House. It failed 160-Yes, 214-No. Rep. Verville (R-Deerfield) thought it was “high time” we passed this reform and send some green back to NH citizens. The House did not agree with this amendment but went on later in the day to pass HB639 with a roll call vote (OTP 272-Yes, 109-No). This bill legalizes, regulates, and taxes cannabis in NH. Rep. Spilsbury (R-Charlestown), speaking for the Ways and Means committee, said he did not want to get into the “weeds” of the bill but all aspects of dealing with legalization in NH was baked into this brownie. We’ll see what the Senate thinks of this brownie.

We learned that after all the presented floor amendments to HB2 were done, the House passed the budget bill with a voice vote, and so it was with HB1 as well. It was quite a palate cleanser to pass this bi-partisan House budget after all the amendments we considered. It was almost as if the Red Sea parted on this Passover day with the House budget now marching dry shod off to the Senate.

We learned that once our budget work was done, the remainder of the calendar could be tackled. We killed many of the bills that the House Democrats previously managed to pass. Remember when they held a momentary majority in the chamber and sent some bills off to Finance? Well, some of those came back and were killed today. HB234 – The one about renewable energy credits died by a slim 193-191. HB430 – which would have made kids attend public school for a year before being able to apply for Education Freedom Accounts – died by a slim 194-192. HB626 – requiring the Department of Education to administer Education Freedom Accounts – died 195-194. Today, House Republicans managed to successfully defend EFA’s from continued House Democrat assault.

We learned that HB250 passed 328-53. That bill increased accidental death benefits for Group II pension members. An amendment to the bill insured that with this change, no costs would not be passed down to the municipalities.

We learned that one bill today had full House support and that was HB337. That bill directed the Office of Professional Licensure and Certification to provide notice of public hearings and opportunity for public comment. That passed 387-0. Apparently everyone desires transparency from OPLC.

We learned that I was able to attend today’s House Session, despite it being Passover, because of changes in my family’s plans to celebrate at my home. I much appreciated Passover snacks being provided in the ante chamber of the House by members of the House. I wish everyone a healthy, happy, and joyous Holy week, no matter what you are celebrating!

Gun -Grabbin’ Hogg Shoots Clay Pidegeons With a Biden Boomstick

Fri, 2023-04-07 10:30 +0000

Failed pillow entrepreneur and occasional gun-grabbing loud-mouth David Hogg has come out as pro-gun (sort of). He posted a short video on Twitter, using it as an opportunity to 1) remind us he’s a hypocritical two-faced  a**hole and 2) pretend he’s not.

To his credit, Hogg does not look as ridiculous as the awful PR shots of Barry Soetero pretending to shoot skeet with his weapon parallel to the ground with photo-shopped smoke leaking out of the business end (this one is more realistic). That, for the record, is how former Clinton aids commit suicide.

Here’s Hogg cracking one off for the same reason ‘cuz David Grab your Guns Hogg likes to shoot him sum skeet or sum’tin.

For the record, I know a lot of folks who say F the NRA all the time. The organization doesn’t speak for them either. But they are not famous for using the blood of children to elevate your Q rating as a mouthpiece for the final form of what you’ve been selling since the Parkland debacle. An epic failure of a gun-grabbing government to interrupt the trajectory of a potential shooter. Which, ironically, is one of the very reasons why we need the right you’d happily nibble or gulp away.

We have the video here if the tweet ever goes the way of David.

Blue Merle French Bulldogs

Fri, 2023-04-07 09:30 +0000

French bulldogs are one of the most popular dog breeds in the world due to their adorable looks and charming personalities. Blue merle French bulldogs, in particular, have been gaining popularity among dog lovers in recent years. These puppies are known for their unique coat pattern, which features a marbled mix of blue, grey, and black hues.

Blue merle French bulldog puppies are born with a solid coat, but their distinctive pattern starts to develop within a few weeks of birth. The marbling effect is created by the presence of the merle gene, which causes random patches of color to appear on the dog’s coat. This gene is dominant, so a blue merle French bulldog will always pass it on to its offspring.

In addition to their striking appearance, blue merle French bulldogs are known for their affectionate and playful personalities. They are social animals and thrive in households where they receive plenty of attention and affection. French bulldogs, in general, are known for their loyalty and devotion to their owners, and the blue merle variety is no exception.

If you’re considering adopting a blue merle French bulldog puppy, it’s important to do your research and find a reputable breeder. French bulldogs are prone to certain health issues, such as hip dysplasia and breathing problems, so it’s essential to choose a breeder who conducts health screenings on their breeding dogs.

Once you bring your blue merle French bulldog puppy home, be prepared to give them plenty of love and attention. These puppies love to play and interact with their owners, so be sure to provide them with plenty of toys and activities. They also enjoy snuggling up with their owners and are known for being excellent lap dogs.  In conclusion, blue merle French bulldog puppies are a unique and charming addition to any household.

Their marbled coat pattern and affectionate personalities make them an excellent choice for families and individuals who are looking for a loyal and loving companion. As with any pet, be sure to do your research and find a reputable breeder to ensure that your puppy is healthy and happy.

Matt Mayberry and Dirty Dover Perform Some “Tricks” They Say Are For Kids

Fri, 2023-04-07 03:00 +0000

On March 23, a clandestine book review committee met in the Communist City of Dover. There is supposedly a recording of the meeting, yet no one can access it. The agenda, time, and date were secret, and released to the Dover squad and the person filing the complaint a day prior.

We want to thank Pollyanna for this Contribution – Please direct yours to Editor@GraniteGrok.com.
You can review our ‘Op-Ed Guidelines‘ on the FAQ Page.

To date, nine books have been submitted to the review committee, one in January, and eight in February. The lengthy forms, one for each book, were submitted to the principal, superintendent, School Board, assistant Superintendent, City Council, and city attorney. Silence followed.

Apparently, they never had books challenged in the schools, and therefore, they had no idea what to do with them!

After the long silence, the school board and administration decided their minion, the superintendent, would pick the committee members to review the books:

Voting members:

  • Karen Berg (parent/guardian)
  • Matthew Cox (parent/guardian)
  • Susan Spence (community member)
  • Matt Mayberry (community member)
  • Charles Reynolds (community member)

In addition, the following School District employees are assisting the committee as advisory participants:

  • Facilitator – Christine Boston
  • Principal – Peter Driscoll
  • Librarian –Kristin Whitworth
  • Co-CIA Director – Siobhan Mehalek
  • Teacher – Eric Schlapak
  • Teacher – Steve Coco

The School Board’s current policy on general book reconsideration is policy KEC, available here.

When pressed about the process, the following was explained by the city attorney.

“The policy is open-ended about the process and, so, my understanding is that the committee is likely still mapping that process out. I do expect it will likely take some time to work through each individual book review request filed, as the committee members are (or are likely) going to read each separate book in its entirety as part of the process. Right now, the committee is reading the book for which reconsideration.”

“No SAU employees will be voting members of the Book Review Committee, but appointed by the school board and superintendent”, who have made their position clear, pornography is a-ok with them.. “The committee is also going to be posting notices of meetings in accordance with RSA 91-A.”

No notice ever happened. One could search the heavens and not find one notice on the first review. And the “certified letter” to the person filing for the review never came!

It’s a bit like the fox guarding the hen house, but it was decided, without any input from parents actually concerned about the content of over 100 books that meet or exceed federal, state, and city laws on sexual adult content. By the way, our laws are not a consideration for the review process or even referenced, even though the filer brought up the city ordinance on adult entertainment during the review meeting.

These are not stories that have occasional minors drinking or fornicating. They are violent depictions of adults preying on children, sex, drugs, pedophilia, and crime written by sick adults making a buck off our taxes.

The first public review was set for March xx, with no notice on the city website (as the review process mandates) as per 91-A rules; nothing online or by email, nothing.  The person who filed the complaint was not sure what was going on until she was told it was a public forum, not a review. Forum?

The time was set, and a group from the LBGTQ community was there to protest, apparently, these adults love pornography! This is where confusion goes on steroids. Mr. Mayberry, chair, (he of the failed Congressional bid against Matt Mowers) chaired the happy group. He was empowered to chastise Dover citizens confused about the conundrum surrounding this strange informal but formal meeting that did not follow one iota of formal committee rules in the city code.

He bit off heads and barked about Roberts’ rules. A so-called “conservative,” his alliances were clear from the start. They were pro-porn.

A retired police officer, with online credits as follows …

  • Consent Decree Auditor and DoJ consultant
  • Former Chief of Police, Mayor, and City Manager, Dover, NH
  • Past President, International Assn. of Chiefs of Police.

…explained how suicides are up, and other teen problems are increasing daily. But he defended porn in schools. It’s OK. Apparently, he could not put 2+2 =4 together and maybe identify root causes from the school library books that glorify such behavior!?

A brief pause from “books” to online access, another problem in schools, ended sharply by Co-CIA Director – Siobhan Mehalick, who went on the record that it was “impossible” for school children to access porn sites from school Chromebooks and then said if they do, IT would know about it and immediately contact parents.

Mayberry refused to look at the screenshots from a student’s Chromebook and mansplained the person with the actual screenshots (evidence). Btw, the student’s parents with the screenshots were never notified. Ignorance is bliss!

There was lots of banter from the LBGTQ representative (I am grateful only one stood and spoke of their personal trials and tribulations rather than listen to all of their pity me stories) about how removing porn hurts the LBGTQ children!? I guess the crimes of pedos towards their children are ok by them.

At the end of almost 2 hours, Chairman Matt Mayberry asked the school advisers if they would allow their tween-age children to read this book. All of them said they would allow most of their 14 yr old children but not others. Poor kids. What’s stopping the “others” from reading them as well?

The first book challenged is Tricks, by Ellen Hopkins.  It chronicles five teens through various horrific journeys. It is “Tricks,” as in ‘turning tricks,’ sex, for money. There is pedophilia, rape, underage sex work, drugs, alcohol, and suicide. These children are sadly damaged without any hope of being productive adults.

This book contains explicit sexual activities including child rape and abuse; drug abuse; violence; alcohol use; and adult and child prostitution.

Even when the author tries for something positive, she manages tragedy. Not a book for the faint of heart, especially a child.

This author has made a fortune writing many similar sexually explicit books victimizing children(15 in Dover schools), and now Dover is adding to her juicy profits by acquiring more of her books for the School Board and review folks! Guess they haven’t figured out how to use free downloads or to just take copies from the library. I would love to know how many students are victims of such crimes as the head librarian, Ms. Whitworth, said this book is needed in the schools to help and support children in such situations!!

What children? What happened to “let’s contact the parents”?

The librarian went on to state all the schoolchildren come to her with every book they are interested in! Ok, there’s an oceanfront lot in Arizona for sale, too.

According to the committee, it is the ending of all these horrible stories, not the journey, that matters. Living as preyed upon, adult raped, abused, drug overdosed, sex trafficked, alcoholic is okay if the ending isn’t so bad? It was bad for someone. Tricks was so daunting the newly created group will apparently be replaced by a newer group selected exclusively by the School Board.

Before that happens, this review committee unanimously voted to keep Tricks! A proud moment for review board chair Mr. Conservative Mayberry!! He finally got to be a politician. Here here!

One has to wonder if the pornography titillation in these books is filling a void in these sad adult people’s lives. Consenting adults can do whatever they want. Children under 18 should not be exposed to such violations at taxpayers’ expense! It’s the law. What happened to protecting a child’s innocence, DARE, all the angry parents protecting their children from evil? All you hear from them is that removing these books will harm LBGTQ children. When keeping them accessible in schools does just that. Harm.

And did any of these ‘reviewers’ even think to ask if the book TRICKS and other redeeming topics are in the Dover Public Library so minors intent on reading them can find them there?? YES, it is there, and MORE!!!! 102 and counting.

At some point, a child will take one or more of these books seriously. A guide to improper behavior or the acceptance needed to have an affair with a pedophile, rape, drink alcohol as a minor, and do drugs.

These are not books that have moral values or outcomes; they are full of racial slurs, bigotry, and slang, and are poorly written. So, it’s not literature. They are not teaching morality, so what is it? Why are some adults saying, “kids will find sex and drug use online” or “it will help them navigate hardships”? Ok, but if one in 10 are using this book as a self-help guide, what about the other nine? What happens to the one child after reading it that truly needs help? I guess we’ll find out.

Sex Offense Attorney Arrested While Viewing Child Porn in His Bedroom

Fri, 2023-04-07 00:00 +0000

Michael T. Dolce, a Sexual Abuse, Sex Trafficking, and Domestic Violence attorney, was arrested at home, in bed, with “an open laptop containing nearly 2,000 images and photos of child pornography in front of him, according to his arrest affidavit.”

WEST PALM BEACH — FBI agents arrested a Palm Beach Gardens lawyer known for representing victims of sexual abuse after they found him actively downloading and viewing child pornography on his laptop, federal prosecutors announced Wednesday. …

Prosecutors say Dolce used a BitTorrent network, which are built for peer-to-peer file sharing, to anonymously download pornography depicting children between 5 and 11 years old in sexually explicit positions. Authorities have not said what led to them to obtain search warrants of Dolce’s home and car.

Michael Dolce, the kiddie porn guy (and a mostly Democrat party donor), spent his professional time advocating for women and children who were sex trafficked and even “… served on the advisory board of Florida’s Children First, a nonprofit legal-aid organization devoted to representing children in “at-risk” situations, according to a now-deleted entry on its website.”

We could say you never really know people, but it seems increasingly like you can. Democrats (as a political party) have chosen to groom children in public schools as a hill to die on while Democrat donors and voters continue to get arrested or implicated in child-sex trafficking or pornography rings.

These two things are very much connected.

Watch Jesse Kelly Demolish Ronna Romney McDaniel … Because What He Says Applies To The NHGOP

Thu, 2023-04-06 22:30 +0000

What did the Republicans in the New Hampshire House do after they lost seats in the 2022 midterms? Keep the same “leaders”. If ever there were a time for soul-searching, a time for making a change, it would have been then … the Party out of power is NOT supposed to lose midterm elections; they are supposed to make gains, especially when the President of the Party in power is as unpopular as Biden.

Keeping the same leadership shows that the House Republicans are content with being losers. The same can be said of the NHGOP as a whole. The entire State Party should have resigned after the debacle in 2022. At a minimum Stepanek and Tucker should have resigned the day after the midterms. But they didn’t … and nobody with a real bully pulpit was demanding that they do. The NHGOP is a Party that is resigned to and content with losing.

Country Music Woke Up…..Say It Ain’t So

Thu, 2023-04-06 21:00 +0000

The Country Music industry held its annual celebration on Sunday evening. The CMA showcased its 57th annual awards ceremony. I confess I do not watch any of these narcissistic, self-indulgent, made-for-TV events. I choose not to elevate these people above who they are. They are gifted performers lucky enough to have been given their chance at success and fortune, and they grabbed it.

In addition to the typical individual and group awards, there were tributes to legends who are still with us or have unfortunately left us too soon. The careers of Leonard Skynard and Naomi Judd were celebrated. But then the show went off track, which is sad to write about.

The Country music industry has traditionally been conservative and patriotic. There were exceptions, like the Dixie Chicks and their assault on George Bush. That faux pas forced the group off the mainstream and restricted them to tours outside America. Kelsea Ballerini is one of the younger members of the Country Music family, so maybe she has not been coached on the heritage and connection between Country and Americana. Kelsea Ballerini embarrassed herself and the genre Sunday night.

Ballerini performed the song, “If You Go Down (I’m Going Down, Too),” backed by a quartet of “Drag Race” stars — Manila Luzon, Kennedy Davenport, Jan Sport, and Olivia Lux — dressed as glam midcentury housewives lounging on a lawn in front of a white picket fence. This performance was in bad taste on several counts. It did not have a place on the CMA.

Nashville is the home of Country Music, and we are all familiar with the recent tragedy that took the lives of six innocent souls at the hands of an unstable armed individual. The three children and three adults have recently been buried, and Nashville, and the country, are still feeling the pain. That shooting has a connection with the transgender community, as the female shooter openly identified as a male. Dancing and celebrating with a group of four transvestites or transgender performers was uncalled for and a poor decision.

The country is divided on the issue of transgender children. Some states have either passed or are in the process of designating themselves as sanctuary states. Not a sanctuary for illegals but for people who find themselves meeting resistance to fulfilling their transgender process. This harboring also protects children from their parents who do not want their minor children to modify their gender. In effect, these laws can facilitate the separation of children and their parents. Ballerini’s performance only fuels this divide.

Reaction to this performance shows how divided we are on the subject. Ballerini was blasted by those who saw the number as offensive. At the same time, she was praised by those who thought she was brave and heroic to follow through with the act. I see nothing brave or heroic. Those terms should be reserved for warriors, not for a singer surrounded by Drag Queens.

I hope this was a one-off for Country Music. I have been a fan of the genre for years, specifically for their patriotism and love of this country. I hope this performance does not indicate the genre is going in another direction. If so, I will be taking a different road.

NH Ballot Law Commission – Dominion / LHS AccuVote Voting Machine Testing

Thu, 2023-04-06 19:30 +0000

Having previously posted on Lou Gargiulo’s report concerning ballot irregularities observed and researched during the November 2023 NH State Senate District 24 election, there was another element to the NH Ballot Law Commission meeting.

A discussion concerning testing done with other than Dominion / LHS AccuVote voting machines in several districts. While the tests appear to have been completed successfully (methodology, results, standards of measurements), there will be more done.

Not only did these representatives from the company give their testimony, but so did the moderators from both Londonderry and Milford (two of the test sites):

Alvin Bragg’s “Blank Indictment” Never Mentions What Laws Trump Broke

Thu, 2023-04-06 18:00 +0000

Much has been said about the precarious nature of Alvin Bragg’s Trump indictment, and I won’t pretend to have read it all. But a reader sent me this. It’s not long, but here’s the crux. Alvin Bragg’s indictment of Trump never identifies a specific crime.

He’s been arrested for not breaking any laws under the presumption that they can come up with something along the way or not.

The defendant, in the County of New York and elsewhere, on or about February 14, 2017, with intent to defraud and intent to commit another crime and aid and conceal the commission thereof, made and caused a false entry in the business records of an enterprise, to wit, an invoice from Michael Cohen dated February 14, 2017, marked as a record of the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust, and kept and maintained by the Trump Organization.

There two elements to this offense:

  • The entry made in the business records is false.AND
  • The entry is made with intent to commit or conceal another crime.

BOTH elements have to be present.

The alleged “indictment” only states one of the two elements of the offense.

I’ll take the author (who hates Trump, by the way) at their word. This is effectively a blank indictment—a laundry list of allegations absent any enumeration of the law(s).

Note: here’s some corroboration.

Here is the indictment that was just released this afternoon.

And here is the statement of facts.

The Manhattan DA came up with a long list of things that his office claims Donald Trump did or were done in his name but never cites any law that was broken as a result of the cited activity. In other words, here’s a bunch of records, and we’re going to arrest you for that even though we’ve failed to state why this broke the law.

This is not an insignificant detail.

Emphasis in the original.

Understand what is at stake here: It is entirely reasonable that if “blank” indictments can issue in this nation against Trump that they can issue against anyone at any time for any reason without stating the elements of an actual criminal offense the accused allegedly committed.

Fascism, baby. Random charges, an indictment and arrest, and no mention of the laws that were violated, probably because there are none. But they did it anyway. And a long list of politicians, pundits, and celebrities have shared thoughts about the impending indictment and the arrest and arraignment of Donald Trump. Most of them spoke without access to any material evidence of a crime, and it looks like none exists, so here’s your opportunity.

Would you like to retract or recant your verbal or written indictment of Trump, or do you support the government using force with blank indictments against your constituents, neighbors, non-citizens, randos with different opinions, or anyone anywhere that results in their arrest or detention at any time, for unspecified crimes?

Before you answer, remember that the people enforcing the blank indictment may not always be on your side of the aisle. That you could still be swept up on a similar indictment for not breaking any law.

Are you still good with this? If you are … you might be a fascist.

Call to action: Get out there and ask. Find people or politicians who mouthed off on social. Send an email to your elected officials. Ask them if they are good with this, and let us know if you get a response and what that is.

Levy warns that at least 7 million Americans now have hearts that have been “seriously damaged” by the shots.

However, the top cardiologist says he fears over 100 million people in America have some degree of heart damage from the injections. He asserts that the injuries are not myocarditis but heart damage that will be detectable with a troponin test.

Concluding thoughts if I’m moved to comment:

I got an email from a good friend of mine the other day.  It was a collection of comments he’d collected from different online sources; the theme was that the Left in America is determined to prove to the little guy that there is no hope.  That they’re in control.  And looking at the 2020 and 2022 elections, one can easily grasp this.  Seriously – how does anyone think that 2024 is going to be different?

The System will not permit effective challenges to The System.

As that friend points out, The System is making clear that Trump simply will not be permitted to run, let alone return to the White House.  Even if he were – by some miracle – to evade the (pardon) trumped up BS against him, and somehow to run and somehow win, the entirety of the government would stymie him.  And this, of course, is assuming that they don’t just outright assassinate him.  Because, like the IRA, they know they only have to succeed once.

I said:

I am an American, and do not wish for violence in this country or indeed any country, whether on a local scale, regional, or national. I do not wish to see people hurting others, nor arson, or beatings, or any asymmetric warfare techniques to be used against anyone, Left or Right, or Hashem forbid an actual civil war. I state, clearly, that such things are the last thing on my mind.

They may be the last thing on my mind, but… they are on the list.  I fear we are being pushed into the situation outlined by JFK:

Bud Light, The Queen of Beers!

Thu, 2023-04-06 15:00 +0000

I know a few folks who are big fans of Bud Light. I don’t think it’s the calories. I think they like the taste. It must be something you need to acquire, but I’ve had a few over the years, and I’ve acquired a taste of my own when it comes to being offered a Bud Light.

Related: Alienating Your Biggest Consumers to Go Woke

I say no thanks. I’ve already got water.

It makes the recent agreement to have gender-confused Dylan Mulvaney as a spokesmodel the makers of this tasteless swill – while dangerous for business – the perfect fit.

Mulvaney thinks he’s a girl. Bud Light thinks it’s a beer.

A guy who thinks he is a girl drinking Bud Light should be the perfect fit.

Is this the result of the ill-considered and not well-thought-out marketing campaign from 2015?

“The perfect beer for whatever happens,” the slogan reads. It is accompanied with the twitter hashtag “#UpForWhatever.”

So, you make yourself look like a chick on the outside but inside … still a dude. Whatever!

But it’s appropriation, man. You’re just a white man colonizing another gender.

So, does that make Bud Light the Queen of Beers?

“Trading Credibility and Potential for Spiteful Self-indulgence.”

Thu, 2023-04-06 13:30 +0000

During the Obama years, professional progressives could afford a certain smug magnanimity, confident that demographic change had bequeathed a permanent lock on power. It was smarter to nudge the great unwashed toward what was decided than boil the frog too quickly.

So the populist reaction of 2016 struck many as profound betrayal: perpetrators had to be punished, examples made, and push brought to shove. What began as institutional resistance amid the Trump interregnum has become actively vengeful governance under the Biden regime—a policy agenda nonsensical as to most of its official objectives but coldly strategic as retribution against structural opposition, not just punishing saboteurs but putting subjects in their place.

Whether wrecking American energy to wreak far worse environmental damage elsewhere, printing enough funny money to substantially devalue the dollar, insisting on demonstrably harmful Covid mandates, or ushering in millions and millions of unvetted migrants, it amounts to a sort of shock treatment to corral and humiliate an unruly electorate that has been found wanting.

Yet the crass opportunism only guarantees greater backlash and further delegitimizes the actual progressive project, or whatever’s left of it. Generations of hard work and good faith have been squandered in just a few short years, trading credibility and potential for spiteful self-indulgence.”

-The Ivy Exile (Vulgar Display of Power) [Emphasis mine]

Found it on Instapundit, which adds:

Well, that’s the epitaph for our ruling class: “Trading credibility and potential for spiteful self-indulgence.” At least I hope it’s their epitaph.

For decades, the Left has convinced itself that America is broken, bad, and needs to be transformed and rebuilt in their image. To do so, they have to break those of us that actively disagree and work against them.

Well, no, that last bit is wrong. As we saw with the Floyd rages/riots and with the DIE (Diversity, Inclusion, and Equality) crew’s anthem of “If you’re not an anti-rascist, you ARE A RACIST!” and must be punished, so the Progressives are telling us and showing us that they ARE and WILL CONTINUE to punish us.

They DO believe that we are mere serfs and not able to reason and decide for ourselves. With that in mind and over the years, their “entitlement to Power” is ruining the American Experiment, American Exceptionalism, and the RADICAL American Idea that we, each Individual is Sovereign.

Instead, the Democrats/Progressives are trying to turn back the clock to a time when were were mere subjects (at best), serfs (middling), and slaves (at worst).

They believe that they ARE our new Royal Aristocracy and expect us to behave according to their New World Order.

So, whattyagonnadoaboutit??

Poseidon is Laughing at Your Puny Emissions

Thu, 2023-04-06 12:00 +0000

Manhattan is not underwater, Florida and its Keys look the same, the Maldives have changed (they added more oceanside hotels), and your paltry emissions aren’t going to change that. The Earth is far more complex than the political scientists milking you on its behalf.

Related: Read This, and You’ll Know More About “Sea Level” than 99% of Climate Cult Alarmists.

But the fear emoted by the idea of an oncoming unstoppable ocean is intense. The left sells it like an inexorable tidal wave of water. A diluvian catastrophe of biblical proportions. One they can stop with your continued “donations.” None of which is true. It’s not coming, and they couldn’t stop it if it were.

And it’s not coming.

And not just because sea level rise has been very post-ice age predictable. Part of that complex system the modelers can’t see or ignore to promulgate cataclysmic headlines has been addressing changes throughout Earth’s history and most definitely during these few and rare eras during which human habitation and expansion have been possible.

The arctic sea ice can melt all it wants, and that won’t change a thing. Realizing this has become more common knowledge, the climate cult has settled its sea level science on ice and snow on land – If that melts, we’ll see six feet of sea level rise. And if it all melted? Maybe. Many of the places we live were once underwater. For thousands of years, perhaps millions. And it wasn’t dinosaur farts, and it’s not you today, but I digress.

Greenland is the poster child for landbound snow and ice-melt doom. But Greenland was much warmer 1000 years ago, and there was no catastrophic sea level rise (oops).

Northern Greenland was covered with wildlife roaming a vast arboreal forest two million years ago. Again, warmer, and you weren’t cooking with natural gas, and why wasn’t that coastline underwater?

Good question.

Imaginary Tipping Points.

Dave Burton, writing at Climate Alarmism, explains some of the natural changes that are part and parcel of Earth’s complexity.

[I]n a warming climate, there are factors which both increase and decrease sea-level trends.

On one hand, ice which is near 0°C can melt, and if it was grounded (rather than floating) that would raise sea-level. Also, thermal expansion at the ocean’s surface can increase sea-level rise locally, though it doesn’t affect sea-level elsewhere. Those are things which raise sea-level.

On the other hand, warmer temperatures increase snowfall accumulation on glaciers and ice sheets, sequestering water, and thereby lowering sea-level, in two ways:

● Warmer air carries more moisture, increasing snowfall on glaciers & ice sheets. For each 1°C of warming the moisture-carrying capacity of the air increases by about 7%. That’s why the heaviest blizzards occur when temperatures are not far below freezing.

● Reduced sea-ice coverage increases Lake/Ocean-Effect Snowfall (LOES) downwind, some of which accumulates on glaciers & ice sheets.

The fact that global warming has not been accompanied by significant sea-level rise acceleration strongly suggests that the factors by which a warming climate increases sea-level and the factors by which a warming climate reduces sea-level are similar in magnitude, and largely cancel.

Other factors include subsidence or vertical land motion, which are the primary drivers of sea level change along the Eastern Seaboard (sorry, it’s not oil or gas heat, Vermont). And why does Betio Island, part of the Tarawa Atoll, have more land mass than it had in 1943? Because there are more variables on Earth (or in the atmosphere) that the computer models can or try to account for, understand, or explain.

They understand grants and continued funding but not much else.

They can’t predict sh!t about the climate, so how could they possibly predict the impacts of their alleged prescription? They can’t. They don’t ever try because, as you already know (‘Grok Readers), those schemes have nothing to do with the weather, the climate, warming, or sea level.

It is about control, including message control, and they are (sadly) getting better at both.
