The Advantages of Selling Your Luxury Car Online

Fri, 2023-10-06 09:00 +0000

When the time comes to sell your luxury vehicle, you are presented with a number of options. You could go to a traditional dealership and see what they have to offer you, opt for a self-led sale, or investigate the process of selling it through an online platform.

This post focuses on the online selling option and all of the advantages that brings to the table.

No False Starts

When you decide to sell a luxury vehicle, there are a lot of things that could go wrong. The number one boon tends to be the number of potential buyers that are either running a scam or just showing up to mess you around and waste your time. The only way to avoid this happening is to move through a reliable online channel where there will be no false starts and absolutely zero scams to speak of. This means your vehicle is safe, and so is your precious time.

Direct Quotes

Whether you have a sale price in mind, or you are completely in the dark, there will be fairly instant access to a quote for your car. This means you can make a quick decision as to the viability of the offer, and either accept or reject it to move things forward. If you don’t like the price from one place, try another to get a sense of a general value.

No Fuss

By opting for a sale with a reputable company like We Buy Exotics, your car is in safe hands. The price quoted is what you will receive for the sale, and all of the administration around the exchange will be handled for you. Companies like this even arrange for the collection of the vehicle as well, which is exactly what you need. If you were to opt for an alternative path, there would be a lot of admin to sift through, which is incredibly time consuming.

Avoid Delays

The biggest problem when trying to sell a luxury vehicle is that there are few buyers out there who want or need this type of car. The fact is, exotic automobiles are for a niche portion of car owners and this is not the climate for this type of sale. Economically speaking, car sales are in decline on a global scale and the luxury market has suffered as a result. Trying to sell a used exotic car is difficult, and you just don’t know how long it will take if you do it without professional input. However, if you choose a reliable online outlet to finalize a sales agreement with, there will be no delays at all and these types of companies take a range of vehicles in a variety of conditions. You will need to prove that you are the owner and be prepared to list in detail the state and status of the vehicle.

Selling your luxury car online is the preferred option for all of the reasons discussed above. It is a difficult economy to move this kind of asset in, so it makes sense to lean on professionally proven methods instead.

Statement from Northwood and Nottingham Republican Town Committee Chairs

Fri, 2023-10-06 03:00 +0000

We would like to thank James Guzofski for stepping up to serve his community to run in the Northwood/Nottingham special election for State Representative. We’d also like to thank all the NH State Representatives, town committees, and volunteers who graciously and generously gave their time to help James Guzofski in his campaign.

We are disappointed to be hearing disparaging rhetoric from fellow Republicans. This is dangerous and problematic but not surprising because those behaving badly have been doing so from the start. This behavior is a cancer in our party, and it needs to be eradicated before it becomes fatal.

Most folks don’t know that James Guzofski wasn’t the original candidate. Nottingham and Northwood Town committees had found another qualified gentleman to run for this position; however, a Golden Dome representative had called our candidate and talked him out of running for the position a week and a half before candidate sign-ups. Golden Dome Leadership had its own candidate that they planned to run, but to their surprise, that candidate backed out last minute. This prompted a phone call to the town committees with a confession by Joe and a plea to us to find another candidate. We then approached twice-elected Northwood Selectman and Northwood Chaplain James Guzofski, he happily agreed.

Meanwhile, Golden Dome Leadership had found yet another candidate they had chosen to run for this seat, and they worked in the days leading up to the primary to elect her. Even after the primary, both town committees were left out of all strategic planning even though we requested to be included, and some of those who were involved with the planning had requested local town chairs to be included.

Town committees struggle to find candidates for all town and state-elected positions. We do not need those who are courageous enough to step up to be a candidate to be disparaged, it only makes finding future candidates harder.

We don’t lose elections because voters choose bad candidates in primaries; we lose elections because some in our own party refuse to listen to the voters. Voters don’t come out to vote when they feel they are not being heard, and they don’t come out to vote when they feel their vote doesn’t matter. We constantly hear in our town committees from frustrated voters who don’t feel heard, and they feel their own party is working against them at times. We as Republicans, must do better if we want to get voters out and win.

Pay Attention To The Outrage – It Tells You Everything You Need To Know

Fri, 2023-10-06 01:30 +0000

Did you see Faux News’ Kilmeade’s “interview” of Rep. Burchett? Kilmeade is unhinged with rage over the ouster of McCarthy. So unhinged that he even mocks Burchett’s faith. Here is the “interview”:

Colin Rugg sums it up perfectly:

  • Americans dying in record numbers from fentanyl from Mexico … GOP shrugs.
  • Debt continues to grow exponentially (and unsustainably) despite a GOP House … GOP shrugs.
  • Money continues to flow to the corruptocracy known as Ukraine, but not a cent for East Palestine … GOP shrugs.
  • But mess with Kevin McCarthy, and … the GOP responds with RAGE: Matt Gaetz is a drug addict. He’s a deviant. He’s a pervert. Matt Gaetz is blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

Small Biz Bankruptcies Rising Thanks to Bidenomics

Fri, 2023-10-06 00:00 +0000

By creating an inflationary regime via policy (I blame Biden and his Socialist/Communist minions for this problem), the Fed’s predictable response is to start raising interest rates – a major factor for just about every small business.

That often ends in declaring bankruptcy.

Reformatted, emphasis mine.

…Nearly 1,500 small businesses filed for Subchapter V bankruptcy this year through Sept. 28, nearly as many as in all of 2022, according to the American Bankruptcy Institute. Bankruptcy petitions are just one sign of financial stress. Small-business loan delinquencies and defaults have edged upward since June 2022 and are now above prepandemic averages, according to Equifax.

An index tracking small-business owners’ confidence ticked down slightly in September, driven by heightened concerns about the economy, according to a survey of more than 750 small businesses. Fifty-two percent of respondents believed that the country is approaching or in a recession, said the survey by Vistage Worldwide, a business-coaching and peer-advisory firm.

…“We are just at the front end of the impact of these dramatically higher interest rates,” Gonzales said. “There are going to be plenty of small businesses that are overleveraged.”

  • Five Reasons for Surge in Bankruptcies
    Rising Interest Rates
    Surging Wages
    Tighter Bank Credit
    Overleverage
    Work-at-Home Curtailing Demand

S0, who was correct? Is the Right for skewering “Bidenomics,” or is Biden for trying to own “Bidenomics” and take control of it away?

Can you say “Backfire”?

How To Tell Who Is Telling The Truth About The War In Ukraine

Thu, 2023-10-05 22:30 +0000

Russian disinformation! Russian propaganda! You’re Putin’s puppet! The Russians have suffered catastrophic, unsustainable, really, really, really big casualties! Putin is dying! The Russians have lost so many tanks they are reduced to pulling World War II vintage tanks out of mothballs! ETCETERA, ETCETERA, ETCETERA … . The foregoing is representative of the response from the warmongers to any suggestion that Ukraine is not “winning”.

But there is an easy way to know who is telling the truth. It’s called a map. And despite all the hundreds of billions that the Biden-Regime and the UniParty Corruptocrats have poured into Ukraine … there have been no major battles won by Ukraine during this year’s “counteroffensive” and the Russians, while holding a quarter of a million troops in reserve, have held the UAF and all its heralded, vaunted NATO equipment at bay. So … NO … Ukraine is NOT “winning.” It is losing and losing badly.

Slippery Meet Slope: “15 to 20 Percent of these People are Dying by Euthanasia.”

Thu, 2023-10-05 21:00 +0000

The death cult is lengthening its stride in the US. A number of states have embraced medically assisted suicide under the pretense of compassion. Initially for those with chronic pain, but increasingly for people who represent cultural or political pain.

Related: Slippery Meet Slope: When the State Decides That it is in Your Best Interest to Die

That’s the slippery slope. Once you convince your population that dying is a solution to what ails you, the Government – especially one run by depopulation zealots – will encourage it indirectly through policy or by direct action. Compassion for the chronically ill evolves, in some cases, rapidly into a political solution for poverty and homelessness, mental health, the old or infirm, autism, strained public health budgets, and even boisterous political opponents.

Doubters are welcome, but we have receipts. I’ve been sharing the death cult’s mission creep and reported on bioethicists publishing trial balloons meant to ground future policy. Hawaii shortened the waiting period to five days. Canada has suggested letting poor people kill themselves (with the help of a government doctor). Oregon has opened medical dying to everyone.

In the Netherlands, they’ve allowed the practice for (at least) two decades. Professor Theo Boer, originally an advocate for the practice, has studied it at length and arrived at a conclusion. “[I]t is impossible to police the euthanasia law.”

Boer told the Committee that “loneliness and meaningless are constituent reasons for asking for euthanasia.” Boer gave an example of how the law could not be upheld:

He cited a Dutch case where there was a question over the legitimacy of a signature requesting euthanasia, and from which an ethics committee had to step back, because it did not hold criminal investigatory powers.

‘When the doctor was asked ‘are you sure that this signature is the signature of the patient,’ the doctor said ‘I was told that it was.’’

‘So, in the end, we backed off,’ Prof Boer said.

Boer commented on the “silent pressure” of euthanasia:

Once you have a law… it is absolutely impossible to put a police officer in every hospital room or in every bedroom… and look [for] some silent pressure.

That is impossible, because that will infringe very much on the privacy of their patient-doctor relationship so there is no solution.

Assuming the police officer is not there to aid and abet the pressure. And so you see the problem.

‘The legalisation of euthanasia has done much more than just providing some citizens the liberty to take a way out,’ he said.

It has created death as a remedy against ‘unbearable suffering,’ he said, and moved society from the presumption of ‘not killing.’

Boer’s criticism of euthanasia is based on what he has seen happen: euthanasia has quadrupled in twenty years and in some regions of the Netherlands, 15 percent to 20 percent of the people are dying by euthanasia.

People who are young and able-bodied. They are more than capable of being productive if they can get help and find a way through their current circumstances (that includes surviving the mental health mill of public education). A road that is lengthy and difficult. In states with socialized medicine, it is expensive, where they have made it easier to get a shot and go to sleep, and everyone’s problems go away. A relationship where it is unclear whether the soon-to-be deceased was encouraged or pressured, convinced, that euthanasia was the best or only option.

Related: How about The ‘Health Benefits’ of Less Government?

It is impossible to police, even if you wanted it and could get around existing privacy laws.

The only cure is not to let it get there from here, but everywhere medically assisted suicide is approved, we find the slippery slope. The pool or eligibility expands, as do the reasons for allowing it.

People in chronic pain or with terminal illnesses are being used as a crutch to expand a policy that will end in the deaths of thousands of capable people (if not more) who have been convinced that death is a better answer.

Better for whom?

We Should Sound the Alarm, Only This Is Not a Test

Thu, 2023-10-05 19:30 +0000

At 2:20 PM on October 4th, the Government, through the FCC, tested the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. Regardless of carrier, every cellphone in the country got a screeching audible signal and an alert on their home screen.

This alert is an extension of the old system we used to see on our TV screen or hear on our radio. With cable, satellite, streaming, and whatever else is out there, the old system did not work to reach the majority of Americans. Since we are a country glued to our cell phones, the system tested today appears to work for today’s technology.

Scheduling the test might be a bad idea this week as many see the country in such a horrific place that maybe we should be sounding the alarm. Anybody with their head above the sand, and I fear that is the minority, knows we are a hot mess. We owe it to the 24% of the voters to wake them up to reality. Joe Biden is destroying our country. It is a tough call whether it is Joe’s plan or on behalf of China or Russia. We know that Joe Biden is not fully functional, so somebody other than the President is calling the shots.

The crisis and emergencies are everywhere, and we may be reaching a tipping point where we cannot correct these situations and the country is lost. It has been said that I only write about what is wrong. That is not true. I contacted the local Government and school board. I Faxed my Federal Representatives about every issue on my list. I resorted to Fax versus the contact form on their websites. They both go into the heavens, but at least I have a record of the Fax. In the old days, you used to get a response, albeit a customary form letter, but today, you get nothing. I have a stack of Faxes and a complete silence from Shaheen, Hassan, and Pappas. As a Republican, they do not see me as a constituent, and as they have all qualified for their Congressional Pensions, why put in the effort to speak to the people? That is why I write.

Where to begin logging the issues? If you listen to KJP every day, you are wrong. All is well. She is wrong. Biden can say the economy is strong, but the only thing strong is rising prices. The typical shopping basket is probably 30-40% higher than last year, and a quick run to the grocery store will set you back $75 to $100. Gas prices are pushing $4.00 in New England and $7 on the Gold Coast. Home heating fuels are up 30%, and we have yet to start heating our homes.

Auto and healthcare workers are striking, and their wages have been frozen for years, but nobody is freezing costs. We are short on workers in every field, and the Administration is more concerned with taking every gas appliance and vehicle away from us rather than urging people to get back to work.

The Southern Border is hemorrhaging, and we will see 10 Million illegals enter America on Joe Biden’s watch. Housing, wages, rents, medical costs, and education are all being impacted adversely by the Biden Doctrine.

Our standing on the International Stage has been damaged. China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran all flex their muscles, and we are watching our military fall into disrepair and lack readiness. We are dumping billions of dollars into Ukraine with no accountability and no way of seeing how much gets funneled back to Biden’s LLCs.

We should sound the alarm, but this is not a test. This mess is the vision of the Democrat Party, and that is why we should be focusing our attention. Democrats are an existential threat, and that is no hyperbole.

Math is Hard: The BS Behind NOAA’s Billion Dollar Climate Disaster Benchmark

Thu, 2023-10-05 18:00 +0000

The media tried to sell July as hotter than anything ever without acknowledging that the temperature record we have proves that it is a lie or that there is no temperature record for much of the world or its existence. There is no scientific way to support the assertion.

NOAA plays this game, too, encouraged by their media cult allies, and they’ve got a new game.

If you search sites like Newspapers.com, anything similar, or even just a non-Google search engine, you will find reports across time and save (history) of massive damage and loss of life from changing climate long before CO2 was repurposed by Marxists.

Regardless of when or where, if you don’t adjust for inflation for the sake of comparison, you are – what’s the word – lying about the relative fiscal cost and impact.

$100 in 1962 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $1,016.64 today, an increase of $916.64 over 61 years. The dollar had an average inflation rate of 3.87% per year between 1962 and today, producing a cumulative price increase of 916.64%.

This means that today’s prices are 10.17 times as high as average prices since 1962, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics consumer price index. A dollar today only buys 9.836% of what it could buy back then.

One of NOAA’s “Billion Dollar Disasters,” today in 1962 dollars, is $98,600,000. That’s 900 million shy of a billion.

The other issue, aside from the value of a dollar and inflation, is how different the world is today from any point prior to it. America has grown, placing more people and more expensive infrastructure in harm’s way. Any storm, regardless of strength, will cause more damage and more expensive damage than a similar event 50, 100, or 150 years ago.

Without adjusting for inflation, it’s apples to oranges. It is bad math, lazy accounting, or simply dishonest. In other words, it’s what we’ve come to expect from the Climate Cult and its enablers.

Garbage.

The ‘Sexual Revolution’ Set Women Back For Generations

Thu, 2023-10-05 16:30 +0000

The sexual revolution was marketed as the way to end the war on women, but the state of modern femininity points only to its failures.

Progressive feminists often scream, “THE FUTURE IS FEMALE!” hoping you’ll believe our society will get better the more power we give women. They don’t acknowledge the sad reality that their fates and sexuality were traded for the promise of a soul-sucking corporate job and an empty apartment where home and family should be.

During World War II, women were encouraged and rewarded to leave their homes to work in the manufacturing plants that kept the Allied forces winning. This ushered in a void that allowed the sexual revolution and its catastrophic effects on the relationship between the sexes.

When the men went off to war, the women were still home learning the art of caring for a family. They returned triumphantly only to find that a growing number of women no longer wanted a man’s leadership or guidance. Joining the workforce gave them the financial incentive to leave traditional life behind and support the sexual revolution, pushing women’s empowerment through their sexual exploitation. Women believed the lie that they’d be happier with sexual freedom than with a loving marriage. The reality is that the granddaughters of Rosie the Riveter are likely depressed, alone, and oversexed.

Like a moth to a flame, women pulled themselves out of the safety of marriage and into the volatility of a man’s world. Women aren’t meant to be where chastity and love are mocked. That much is obvious.

When women are asked to ignore their purpose, they suffer. The corporate ladder is the modern man’s battlefield. It’s where they find the ability to provide for their families. The women blessed with a family are stretched thin, constantly asked to perform more, but at least they have love. Without it, women are consumed by workplace hostility, leaving them isolated and fragile. All you have to do is look at the meme culture mocking how tired working women are all the time to know women aren’t thriving in this environment. Men find that the conflict is a motivator – the fuel that drives them to build wonders.

For decades, we’ve taught women that their value is in their sexuality or their ability to assume male stoicism. That capacity to heal has been slowly ripped away, leaving jaded, bitter women lashing out at anyone who doesn’t fall in line. While it’s heavily mocked in our society, women are blessed to be emotional. We have the ability to see suffering and soothe it. (ROOKE: If Men Are Really Serious About Saving America, They’ll Launch A War On Porn)

It’s not that women aren’t capable of running a company, hiring a competent workforce, or dealing with complicated issues. It’s that we were meant for a higher purpose. Nothing has a greater effect on our ability to function as a free and safe society than what mothers do for the next generation of leaders. Our world desperately needs good mothers, but modern women are too busy marching for the right to murder their babies to notice. Society should champion a movement to remind them that their purpose is to nurture, not neglect.

San Francisco Is Falling Into the Progressive Dystopian Sea

Thu, 2023-10-05 15:00 +0000

Growing up, we learned about fault lines, earthquakes, and how the coast of California had lots of the former and was prone to the latter. One fault line we did not discuss, that I would come to understand years later, was that Democrat rule could be equally devastating.

If you made the mistake of falling into that trap, voting for progressive politicians and their empty promises, the decline would evolve into the prophesied doom loop—a cascade of systemic policy failure catalyzing into rapid decline. A handful of US cities are experiencing this deliberate destruction. Yes, deliberate. This is no accident, though most Democrat voters, nearly all the independents, and at least a few Republicans might be surprised to learn that inconveninet truth.

From its beginnings, the Marxists were very clear. You cannot make the utopian omelet without breaking all the eggs. All of them. Oh, and there is also no utopia, and only the ruling elites will be able to afford eggs or anything else. You have doubts. Look at San Francisco. Decades of Democrat rule have catapulted it into a dystopian decline.

The Sh!tty by the Bay. Poop and discarded needle maps, rampant crime, and homelessness. It’s a dump.

The problem began with a government policy, of course. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the city paused enforcement of graffiti removal. Now graffiti and other property crimes are out of control.

Another novel but serious crime problem also has struck the Bay Area: piracy.

Piracy! Hooligans use old boats or steal newer ones to rob and pillage Bay Area boaters.

Homeless encampments are being used as mini-pirate coves. Bands of thieves use small watercraft to raid houseboats and yachts in Bay Area harbors. These thieves often violently assault those aboard.

So, is there a plan to stop the pirates? Not really. In fact, the Oakland Police Department often won’t respond to calls.

Even Starbucks can’t take it anymore. They have joined Whole Foods, Walgreens, and other retailers who are fleeing. Starbucks had 59 locations in the city. They are closing seven. A number that will grow as the problem of Democrat rule continues to push the City by the Bay into the rhetorical bay. No one is holding conventions there, though I suspect part of the problem is the lack of hotel space occupied by Joe’s illegals. Office vacancy is reportedly at 30%, a number that can only grow.

As the budget becomes increasingly strained, as it must, the government will abandon its promises to sustain itself, as is always the case, but will people understand? Not in San Francisco, but everywhere else in America. This is what they want for the entire nation. San Francisco is America if we don’t change course and for at least a half-dozen election cycles.

San Francisco is on its way into the progressive dystopian fee, and the party responsible is giddily looking to drag the rest of America with it.

And it will if you let them.

What Would Dems do Without their Scapegoat in Chief?

Thu, 2023-10-05 13:30 +0000

The Democratic Party once upon a time claimed representation of the working class. More Americans are seeing that this reputation is long gone. Barack Obama bailed out Wall Street and backed Monsanto – the exact opposite of what he promised. Joe Biden-Brandon promised to be a uniter.

Can I get an LOL?

What would the Martha’s Vineyard crowd do without false claims about DT to whip up terror in a dumbed-down electorate?

In “Listen Liberal: Or, What Ever Happened to the Party of the People?”  Liberal political observer Thomas Frank boldly cautioned his party that policies would be required eventually – hating a single human is not a very effective long-term party platform, no matter how much the target is demonized. Indeed, some Americans are fatigued by the incessant hatred and intolerance in the name of a neo-liberalism that feigns tolerance and inclusion. What on earth would the deranged do without Donald Trump to fuel their insanity?

Frank reviewed Obama’s perfidy in Listen Liberals, but the liberals did not listen. He included a chapter about Martha’s Vineyard elitists, recounting the disgusting excesses of those who claim they help the impoverished. Like Soviet dachas or Marie Antoinette and cake, the Democrats have become the caviar-slurping pigs at the farmer’s table in Orwell’s Animal Farm. Fattened swine cannot roll out of the way fast enough if Trump dies and leaves them nothing upon which to gorge.

Tucker: There is No Chance (Your Kids) Will Prosper in a Country Like This

Thu, 2023-10-05 12:00 +0000

Tucker Carlson is back on our pages to talk about being brave about what’s required and what is involved. And the secret sauce, he suggests, is that you must stop being afraid to die. That embracing the inevitable can liberate you.

I have been called brave for the things I write and what we do here. I’m not sure that’s true, but I am viewing it from my side and my worldview. I’m just being me, and I am NOT inclined to self-worship (at least, I don’t think I am), so that makes me humble or stupid or both. You can decide. To others who are not inclined to share these sorts of thoughts publicly, I suppose it appears brave. There are plenty of other words that suit, but to stay on point, I’ve not felt fear of death for a long time, and surviving a heart attack five years only affirmed that.

Many a night, I would experience odd symptoms. Not enough to warrant a call to 911, but my body was doing curious things. Lots of people people die from heart conditions “in their sleep.” Maybe I’d be one of them. I later learned most of it was medication side effects, but at the time, it seemed a lot like I might be heading back to the hospital or – maybe, not waking up to do even that.

It didn’t stress me out or make me anxious, it just affirmed the inevitability. Death comes for everyone. If it’s my turn, I hope I managed to get a few things done before I’m gone and leave my family with the means or ability to continue on without me.

I’m not sure that made me brave. It hasn’t changed my behavior online, as far as I can tell – understanding that there is a stark difference between brave and reckless. I know distant “relatives” who have used the death of a family member as an excuse to embrace excess. That’s not brave—quite the opposite.

We all know people who use some outrage to be outrageous themselves.

So, Tucker Carlson embraces the topic of fear of death and bravery. The end of every life is coming. Tucker paraphrases an idea from an essay by Orwell, saying, you might as well die with your shoes on doing something you believe in.” Death is part of a cycle of life. It is always there, so why not play with house money?

He talks about God, faith, and, ultimately, that there is nothing to be afraid of other than cowardice, with the underlying idea that if we remain afraid, there is no chance our children will prosper in the country we leave to them and that your being brave is what the left fears.

Trust me, it all sounds better coming from Tucker Carlson.

The original published version was missing a critical word. Not. It should read. “I am NOT inclined to self-worship.” Talk about a strange way to fumble your point. It has been corrected.

Wheeler is STILL on Notice!

Thu, 2023-10-05 10:30 +0000

Some people might ask why I even bother with doing this, reaching out to him only to be both ignored and misrepresented(by voting the wrong way) again. It’s kind of like Robin Norwood’s book Women Who Love Too Much(when you keep wishing and hoping he’ll change).

No, I’m not in love with Wheeler.  Let me get that statement out of the way, just for the record, though I know there are some Granite Staters who, unfortunately, are!  And we all know what Einstein says about repeating the same behavior and expecting different results.

I noticed another bad judge appointment with a hearing on the calendar for Wednesday, October 4, at 2:30 pm. The lucky appointee this time is Elizabeth Paine, who apparently goes by “Betsy.”  What’s not so apparent, according to my initial internet search, is where she calls home.  NH dot gov is implying it’s Center Sandwich, though it appears that she voted in Andover as recently as 2020.  While it’s possible she moved from Andover to Sandwich in the past three years, the bigger concern with her becoming a judge is wokeness and covidiocy.  I will save us some time by just pointing to a few links, which were supplied to me by the famous JR, for the readers to click on and explore for themselves.

It’s kind of like Groundhog Day all over again.  Just like Sonny and Cher’s song playing at 6 a.m., I will email him to “give instructions” to reject this appointment.  He will ignore it and rubber stamp the future Judge Paine as he did with Gordon MacDonald, Anne Edwards, and, though not a judge, the dishonorable DJ Bettencourt.

Again, why am I doing this, one might ask?  I am doing this because “they”(meaning EVERYONE who had been in Concord for a long time in one elected office or another) just plain don’t care, and “they” want us just to give up.  Think of Bart and Lisa asking Homer to take them to Mt. Splashmore.

Let us NOT give up in our search for an electable primary opponent for Councilor Wheeler.  Let’s send him back to his cottage industry homemade Kinko’s factory, where he spends quality time with his family, farm Christmas trees, shoot guns, and make maple syrup as a PRIVATE CITIZEN.

Physical Fitness and Your Finances

Thu, 2023-10-05 09:30 +0000

The direct link between physical fitness and financial health is often underestimated. At a cursory glance, they appear to occupy different realms of our lives: one focused on our bodies and well-being, the other on our monetary resources and economic stability.

Yet, there exists a subtle connection that emphasizes the old adage, “Health is wealth.” Not only does maintaining good health keep us from the clutches of medical bills or medical debt settlement, but it can also save us from other unseen expenses that chip away at our financial well-being.

The Hidden Cost of Poor Physical Fitness

Beyond the visible expenses, like medical bills or treatments, there’s an undercurrent of costs associated with declining physical fitness. These hidden expenses manifest in various forms and can be more draining than one might assume. For example, when physical fitness is on the wane, an individual is more prone to seek solace in short-term pleasures. The immediate gratification derived from smoking, consuming alcohol, or indulging in stress shopping provides a temporary respite. But this comes at a cost. With the average American spending about a dollar of every hundred earned on alcohol and similar indulgences, the accumulated financial impact becomes significant over time.

Compromised Immune System: A Gateway to Rising Expenditure

As our physical fitness deteriorates, our immune system is also compromised. This reduced immunity makes us more susceptible to illnesses, which in turn leads to medical visits, medication, and sometimes even prolonged treatments. All these can cause a significant dent in our savings.

Furthermore, an individual who isn’t physically fit may also experience decreased productivity at work due to frequent illnesses, low energy levels, or lack of focus. This can lead to missed opportunities, stalled career progression, and even potential job losses.

Economic Choices Driven by Health

When physical health is at stake, our purchasing decisions are often influenced. It is not just about indulging in alcohol or stress shopping, but also about opting for quick fixes like processed foods, which are easier to get and require less effort to prepare than wholesome meals. Over time, these seemingly small choices can lead to significant financial expenditure. Think about it – how much does one end up spending on takeout food or convenience meals annually?

The Vicious Cycle of Stress and Expenditure

Physical unfitness often brings about a level of stress. Stress, in turn, can lead to impulsive buying or the so-called “retail therapy.” While it might provide momentary pleasure, such spending often results in buyer’s remorse, further exacerbating financial and emotional stress. This creates a vicious cycle of stress and unplanned expenditure, making it challenging to break free and make sound economic decisions.

The Road to Physical and Financial Recovery

Recognizing the profound interplay between physical fitness and finances is the first step to healing both aspects. As one embarks on the journey of improving physical health through regular exercise, balanced diets, and avoiding detrimental habits, there’s a noticeable shift in spending patterns. Fewer resources are allocated towards harmful indulgences, and more can be channeled into investments, savings, or experiences that bring genuine happiness and contentment.

Conclusion

In essence, physical fitness and financial well-being are intertwined in ways we often overlook. As we invest in our health, we’re not only enhancing our quality of life but also paving the way for a more secure and prosperous financial future. Making conscious efforts to maintain good health can lead to a holistic transformation that benefits both our body and our bank balance.

Former Six-Term State Rep Announces Run For NH Senate

Thu, 2023-10-05 03:00 +0000

October 2, 2023 – Pat Abrami, the former six-term State Representative from Stratham has formally announced that he will be running as a Republican for State Senate in District 24, which includes Rye, Greenland, Stratham, Exeter, Hampton, North Hampton, and Hampton Falls.

Please Submit Group communications or Press Releases to editor@granitegrok.com.
Submission is not a guarantee of publication – Publication is not an endorsement.

This occurred on Tuesday evening, September 26, before a completely full Wiggin Memorial Library conference room in Stratham. Pat reintroduced himself to the audience by discussing his life experiences that will bring his knowledge, people skills, problem-solving skills, and strong leadership abilities, to the Senate just as he did as a New Hampshire House Member for 12 years, all on the Ways and Means Committee, and serving as Vice Chair for three terms under long-time chairperson Norm Major.

He discussed his life’s successes, academically, athletically, and professionally as a principal/owner of a hospital operations consulting firm. Pat then laid out his position on just some of the issues currently facing New Hampshire, namely, maintaining our business-friendly environment; the importance of low taxes; the need for reasonable, but non-stifling regulation; the importance of parental rights with safeguards against abusive parents which already exist in statute for the most part; for continued support for a ban on abortion at 24 weeks (with a few exceptions), emphasizing the need for continued dialog between all sides of this issue; how the illegal immigration crisis is impacting NH; about energy costs and the need for a rational realistic energy policy; voter integrity that ensures everyone eligible to legally vote can do so and the need for our voting processes to be as fraud-proof as possible, and the biggest, but most silent issue facing New Hampshire, which is our six-billion-dollar pension liability.

Mr. Abrami relayed what Senate President Jeb Bradley told him at a meeting several months ago as he was contemplating a run that, if elected, he would hit the ground running as State Senator given all his years as an active and productive member of the House, who always conducted himself in a statesman-like manner.

Things to See in Minnesota

Thu, 2023-10-05 02:30 +0000

Minnesota, sometimes described as the paintbrush on America’s canvas, offers an artistic blend of culture, nature, and novelty. When one imagines the state, it’s easy to think of lakes and forests; however, The Gopher State’s appeal extends far beyond its serene landscapes.

Whether you’re obtaining a title loan in Minnesota or just cruising the scenic byways, you’ll find a treasure trove of hidden gems to explore.

The Maze of Museums

Step into a labyrinth of human invention, history, and art. Minnesota’s museums are not just rooms with exhibits but a fascinating journey into the dimensions of time, culture, and nature. Take the SPAM Museum for instance. It isn’t just a place that glorifies a canned meat; it’s a time capsule that reminds us of American innovation, marketing genius, and the stories behind household names.

Another off-the-beaten-path destination is the Museum of Russian Art, the only museum in North America dedicated to the preservation and presentation of Russian art and artifacts. Here, you get a unique chance to meander through the alleys of Russian history without ever boarding a plane.

Adventures in Amusement

Think of amusement parks as adult sandboxes where everyone, regardless of age, becomes a child. While Minnesota offers mainstream parks, it also offers Paul Bunyan Land—an ode to folklore and history. It’s where stories come alive, and old tales find a fresh breath, just like opening a book and watching the characters spring to life.

Hidden Histories and Estates

Beyond the skyscrapers and modern amenities, Minnesota is a custodian of histories whispered through its mansions and estates. Places like the James J. Hill House are not just buildings; they’re time machines. Walking through these estates is akin to reading pages from a novel, with each room narrating a different chapter, giving you an insight into the gilded age, aspirations, and artistry of times gone by.

Vineyards: The Nectar Trails

While Napa Valley gets much of the spotlight when it comes to American wines, Minnesota’s vineyards are like those indie songs—less discovered but incredibly soulful. Dive into vineyards like the Alexis Bailly Vineyard, where the vines aren’t just about producing grapes; they narrate a tale of perseverance, cold winters, and the dance between soil and seasons. It’s where the taste of wine becomes a narrative.

Distilleries: The Spirit of Minnesota

If vineyards are the gentle storytellers of Minnesota, distilleries are its vibrant raconteurs. Tattersall Distilling isn’t just about spirits; it’s about the spirit of place, people, and passion. When you sip a drink here, it’s not just alcohol but a concoction of history, innovation, and Minnesota’s distinctive touch.

A Shopper’s Canvas

If shopping were an art, Minnesota would be the Louvre. While it boasts the massive Mall of America, there’s also an underbelly of boutique shops that offer curations instead of collections. It’s a place where you don’t just shop but embark on a hunt, finding treasures that echo stories, craftsmanship, and the heartbeat of local artists.

Conclusion

Minnesota isn’t just a state; it’s a storytelling tapestry where every corner, from its museums to vineyards, tells a tale. Whether you’re passing through after getting that title loan or settling down for a vacation, allow the diverse narratives of The Gopher State to enrapture you. With every step, you uncover a new story, a fresh perspective, making your journey not just about sightseeing, but soul-seeing.

U.S. Offshore Wind Plans Are Utterly Collapsing

Thu, 2023-10-05 01:30 +0000

Offshore wind developer Ørsted has delayed its New Jersey Ocean Wind 1 project to 2026. Previously, the company had announced construction of the project would begin in October 2023. The delay was attributed to supply chain issues, higher interest rates, and a failure so far to garner enough tax credits from the federal government. For now, they are not walking away from all their U.S. projects but will reconsider long-term plans by the end of this year. Ørsted’s stock price has fallen 30% in 5 days. This is just the latest bad news for offshore win.

Ocean Wind 1 had one of the highest guaranteed prices among the 18 projects currently in the approval queue. The actual wholesale price guarantees for Ocean Wind 1 start at $98.10/MWh, rising 2% a year to $145.77. Over twenty years revenue will average $126.47/MWh according to the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU). Ørsted is seeking higher guarantees from the BPU and an increase in federal Investment Tax Credits from 30% to 40%. Recognizing the potential financial problems, New Jersey’s largest public utility, Public Service Electric & Gas Company sold its 25% share of the project to Ørsted in January.

The company said it is “reconfiguring” Ocean Wind II in New Jersey, and its Skipjack Wind project off the coasts of Maryland and Delaware because they do not currently meet its projected financial standards. The Maryland Public Service Commission guaranteed Skipjack Wind $146.42/MWh average over twenty years and also gets to keep revenue from sales to the regional grid. Apparently, the higher guarantee is still not enough to meet the company’s financial goals. Ørsted is working to renegotiate guaranteed prices on two other projects, Sunrise Wind and Revolution Wind, that would need a 30% increase just to meet the current Ocean Wind 1 guaranteed price.

Meanwhile, projects off New York are asking for an average 48% increase in guaranteed prices that could add $880 billion a year to electric rates, or almost $18 billion over twenty years (see table below).

In North Carolina, the latest long-term energy plan from Duke Energy drops offshore wind entirely in favor of nuclear, solar, and onshore wind. Furthermore, Duke has committed to only close any existing power plants once replacements are in operation, an idea that other states should follow. Two new offshore wind lease areas in the Gulf of Mexico failed to attract a bid. Vineyard Wind off Nantucket has begun construction but faces three unresolved lawsuits.

Wind turbine manufacturers are faring no better. Siemens Gamesa has announced almost $5 billion in 2023 losses from warranty repairs for turbines much smaller than those planned in the US. The company also faces price pressure. The stock price has dropped 30% since June.

This is not the time for Delaware to be considering offshore wind.

Clearly, the industry is in disarray, facing rising costs, durability, and legal issues. An 800 MW project similar in size and the current guaranteed price to Skipjack 2 may raise Delaware residential electric prices by $400 to $545/year and for businesses by the tens of thousands. A Monmouth University poll shows a major decrease in public support for offshore wind in New Jersey, falling from 84% to 54% with 40% opposed.

How Much Is Too Much for Ukraine?

Thu, 2023-10-05 00:00 +0000

Funding for Ukraine is causing a lot of political drama – did you notice how I did not use the word “war”?  Some politicians want additional funding for Ukraine, some do not, and there is a report suggesting we might want to rethink foreign aid.

We want to thank Marc Abear for this Contribution – Please direct yours to Editor@GraniteGrok.com.
You can review our ‘Op-Ed Guidelines‘ on the FAQ Page.

It seems there is an issue with corruption.

Ukraine is deeply corrupt.  Don’t take my word for it; that’s according to the White House.  It is so corrupt that unless President Zelensky cracks down on that corruption, future aid will likely be in jeopardy.  This comes from a leaked State Department assessment, as reported by Politico.

This comes on top of previous reports from both the State Department and Pentagon that tracking aid inside of Ukraine is difficult to impossible. They know some of our aid, from military gear and cash, has been outright stolen.

Our regime says they don’t have proper auditing teams on the ground.  And whose fault is that?  Yea, yea, they are trying to fix it.  For whatever good it will do, a team from the Pentagon landed in Ukraine over the weekend to start the auditing process… $74 billion dollars into it, and somebody just got the idea of auditing in the most corrupt country in that area of the world is a good idea.

Probably becasue that mess became part of our latest Act of shutdown theater when the bill passed to fund government operations stripped out funding for Ukraine.

Mr. Biden immediately started working the phones with international leaders.  He is assuring them that more US aid will be coming, and most Senators share Mr. Biden’s desire to give more cash to Ukraine.

Why does no one else ever think to lend them money?

Lindsey Graham said that funding for Ukraine should be tied to funding the US border.  The suggestion is that the two are of equal importance. But in the House of Representatives, officials are not as inclined to blow their lunch money on Ukraine.  There is a group of 10 to 20 Republicans who say not one more penny for Ukraine.

Beyond them, support is a bit more mixed.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has said he doesn’t want to give Ukraine a blank check, but he is open to giving more.  That’s led to accusations he made a secret deal with the Democrats to draft a new bill this week offering billions more for Ukraine. McCarthy denies it, but Mr. Biden suggested there is a secret deal of sorts; comments made a lot of people angry, especially those 10 to 20 Republicans who oppose more money for Ukraine.  One of them has announced that he will try to remove Mr. McCarthy from the Speakership. A vote to do so could happen this week.

Polls out over the past two months show Americans think we’ve already given too much aid to Ukraine. A CNN poll showed 55% say no more aid; 45% say that, no, keep the spigot open and the dollars flowing. Democrats were more likely to support more war aid than Republicans.

Shouldn’t a conversation about corruption in Ukraine and our aid be a bipartisan concern?  Shouldn’t the conversation be had before we send $74 billion?  As the State Department says, it is real, it is important, and we should be talking about it.  That’s irrespective of whether we want more aid or not.

You voted for the senators and representatives who supported our actions up to this point.  What do they have to say about their actions with your money?

If You Don’t Believe the Border Is Secure, Would You Believe Republicans Caused the Chaos?

Wed, 2023-10-04 22:30 +0000

Anyone old enough to remember the classic “Get Smart” TV series has to remember one particular gag often used by that bumbling secret agent, Maxwell Smart. Caught in another of his many precarious predicaments, he’d try to distract his adversaries by throwing out some incredible lie about his imminent rescue, closing the ruse by adding, “Would you believe it?”

When he realized it wasn’t working, he’d adjust the story slightly. “Would you believe…? The bit worked perfectly with Don Adams’ comic genius, and it popped up periodically throughout the series.

It seems that Democrats picked up a thing or two from Maxwell Smart. Just a few weeks ago, while honest news outlets were broadcasting endless scenes of mass migration and utter chaos on our southern border, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Alejandro Mayorkas, and White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre were confidently proclaiming that our border is secure. In fact, all the Democrats went along with that storyline.

But millions of new inhabitants are hard to hide, and when they started overflowing into sanctuary cities like New York and Chicago, Democrat mayors began to take notice. Eric Adams complained that the border crisis “will destroy New York City.” That’s when the Democrat lie began to unravel. The Biden administration needed to modify the story. Like the ever-resourceful Maxwell Smart, they quickly adjusted their narrative. “If you don’t believe the border is secure, would you believe Republicans caused the border chaos? No? How about this? “Republicans are making the chaos much worse by talking about it so much.” Or their latest claim: “Republicans are politicizing the border crisis.”

The essence of their argument goes something like this: “Rest assured that the border is secure, but if it’s not, don’t blame us.” Loyal Democrats might agree with that sort of blather, but rational Americans aren’t buying it.

Most Americans recognize it as a desperate and pathetic attempt by this administration to deflect responsibility for the disaster it created with the help of Democrat lawmakers. It’s not a new tactic. It’s how they deal with all their policy follies, whether the border fiasco, inflation, or the anarchy now spreading across our country.

While most of us like to think that facts are facts and the truth is the truth, politicians have developed a reputation for distorting both. They euphemistically call it spin. But, unchallenged by their allies in the news media, the lies coming from this administration have grown to epic proportion – so brazen, so outlandish that only committed Democrats continue to nod in agreement. They insult the intelligence of clear-thinking Americans.

Maybe it’s one reason Biden finds himself 10 points behind Trump in a recent Washington Post-ABC News poll.

As far as the border is concerned, CBP statistics tell the simple, unvarnished truth. Encounters at the border skyrocketed after Joe Biden took office. During the year 2020, they were at a manageable 405,036. In 2021, during Biden’s first year in office, they quadrupled to 1,662,167. According to some estimates, more than eight million foreign citizens have entered the country illegally since Biden took office. The good news for the administration is that Kamala Harris can finally end her quest for the root cause of illegal immigration. It all begins with Biden’s policies.

The voters entrusted Joe Biden to enforce American laws and protect its citizens. For whatever reason, he and his administration have shown utter contempt for the safety and security of American citizens by eviscerating our sovereignty and inviting into our homeland millions of unscreened, unidentified foreign citizens, mostly from third-world countries. While border towns have suffered for years under the crush, cities like New York are only now beginning to feel the impact.

Like characters in a situation comedy, Biden and his administration will say anything to get themselves out of a jam. But there’s nothing funny about their lies. They’re killing Americans and destroying the entire country – not just New York City.

So, Global Warming Makes Cyclones Putter About the Ocean Rarely Reaching Land?

Wed, 2023-10-04 21:00 +0000

With a few weeks left and only one CAT3 US landfall in 2023, the Climate Cult must be beside itself: all the boiling hot ocean water and only one landfall. The news gets worse. Nothing is coming (anytime soon) to save their narrative.

Related: It Was Not the Wettest July in NH History Nor the Hottest

The only tropical storm in the Atlantic is Phillipe, and his track is estimated to head north from the Sargasso Sea, far too far from shore to be of any use and never achieving hurricane status.

You might wonder, why, Steve, do we care? Perhaps you don’t, but you have to remember the context. July was hot. Not the hottest, but it was … hot. The media pretended there was nothing like it on record, by which they mean records they’d admit exist. A lot of people swallowed the bait, and what goes with it? The rest of the narrative.

Super-heated oceans create massive super-storms that wreak havoc on coastal communities: sea swell, flooding, damage and destruction, dogs and cats living together. But that last thing is the only thing mankind has caused. Cats and dogs can live together absent the alleged chaos, just like Hot Julys and this year’s hurricane season.

July convinced NOAA to tweak its previous forecast.

In May, it predicted “a range of 12 to 17 total named storms (winds of 39 mph or higher). Of those, 5 to 9 could become hurricanes (winds of 74 mph or higher), including 1 to 4 major hurricanes (category 3, 4 or 5; with winds of 111 mph or higher). NOAA has a 70% confidence in these ranges.”

In early August, the prediction changed: “The outlook now includes a 70% chance of 14-21 named storms, of which 6-11 could become hurricanes, and 2-5 could become major hurricanes. The updated outlook also states that current conditions are likely to counterbalance the usually limiting atmospheric conditions associated with the ongoing El Niño event.”

As predictions go, they’ve done worse, but not much has come of getting close. Most of the storms were tropical and muddled about the middle of the Atlantic like Joe Biden looking for a hand to shake.

I wouldn’t call it embarrassing; Tropical Storm Phillipe is number 16, the fourth of his name, but when they predict 5-9 hurricanes, including 1-4 major ones, we expect them to be big and make landfall. The Cult gets giddy. Is this the year they get to use that bigger, more frequent storm narrative to socialize energy? Nope.

They must redirect their anger and frustration toward whatever sloppy excuses they can articulate. They certainly can’t say global warming makes more cyclones that just putter about the ocean never reaching land. Oh, and you’re still a denier! And their agenda is still getting rammed down our throats with CAT 5-level executive orders and bureaucratic rule-making.

They don’t need no stinkin’ storms, but it helps the optics.
