Common Sense: A Scathing Attack on Unlimited, Centralized Power

Granite Grok - Tue, 2023-01-10 20:30 +0000

January 10, 1776. Today in history, Thomas Paine published the first edition of Common Sense – a 47-page pamphlet that defended and inspired the cause of independence like no other. (check out this podcast on Common Sense here) Leading historians have called it one of the “most brilliant ever written in the English language.”

His first sentence perfectly describes the source of many of the problems we face today:

Some writers have so confounded society with government, as to leave little or no distinction between them; whereas they are not only different, but have different origins.

Think about that.

Every issue, every problem, pretty much everything in existence – rather than leave it to “society” to solve – rather than leave it to the market to handle – millions and millions of people believe that the only solution is to run to government.

The fact that government actually caused most of these problems we face today in the first place – this kind of mentality just keeps making things worse.

Paine took things further in his 2nd paragraph:

“Society in every state is a blessing, but Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one: for when we suffer, or are exposed to the same miseries by a Government, which we might expect in a country without Government, our calamity is heightened by reflecting that we furnish the means by which we suffer.” [emphasis added]

Paine then launched a scathing attack on the centralized, unlimited system of power that was the institution of the hereditary monarch, noting that – like the command-and-control centralized powers of modern times – they “have laid the world in blood and ashes.”

He rejected the idea of reconciling with Great Britain, stating that “the present tempting offer of reconciliation is a snare.” Paine believed that reconciliation would lead to “the ruin of the Continent,” citing several reasons for this belief.

First – that under the watch of the largest government in history – the people were prosperous.

Paine pointed out that they were prosperous in spite of that government, not because of it. He wrote that “America would have flourished as much, and probably much more, had no European power taken any notice of her.”

We can certainly say the same of today – government regulations have held things back in serious ways – and while America has indeed been prosperous, it won’t last forever. More importantly, many things likely would have been better without government in the way in the first place.

Second, Paine responded to the claim that the empire was keeping America “safe.”

This kind of view has always been absurd, and fear has always been the foundation of government power. The fact is – we can only be truly safe when we’re free.

Paine also noted that British “protection” was involving them in all kinds of political conflicts that endangered them. And pointed out that free trade was a leading principle of the Revolution:

Our plan is commerce, and that, well attended to, will secure us the peace and friendship of all Europe; because it is the interest of all Europe to have America a free port. Her trade will always be a protection, and her barrenness of gold and silver secure her from invaders.

This was certainly reflected in Pres. Thomas Jefferson’s inaugural years later – when he said it was the policy of these United States to pursue “Peace, commerce and honest friendship with all nations. Entangling alliances is none.”

As long-time TAC blogger and historian Dave Benner noted, Paine made 7 key arguments throughout Common Sense, including these:

  • That many traditional rights were naturally bestowed, and preexisted government.
  • That legitimate government depends on the consent of the governed, and that governmental establishments were based on contractual relationships between individuals.
  • That a free people could withdraw from an illegitimate government, as such a government ceased to possess the ability to demand compliance.

While Paine focused much of his ink on principles – he was also a man with a plan. Months before the Lee Resolution gave us not just the Declaration of Independence, but also what became the Articles of Confederation, Paine recommended in Common Sense:

A declaration “to be published, and despatched to foreign Courts, setting forth the miseries we have endured, and the peaceful methods which we have ineffectually used for redress” and declaring “we had been driven to the necessity of breaking off all connections with Britain”

He said that “such a memorial would produce more good effects to this Continent, than if a ship were freighted with petitions to Britain.”

And years before the Articles of Confederation were finally ratified, Paine recommended a constitutional convention, and even a form of government with a whopping 390 delegates to congress.

Dr. Benjamin Rush – who arranged for the first printing in Philadelphia – said It “burst from the press with an effect which has rarely been produced by types and papers in any age or country.”

Its effect, Benjamin Franklin said, was “prodigious.”

At the end of the day – we’re once-again facing the largest government in the history of the world, as Paine was in his day. So the message remains the same: The road is going to be bumpy, but stay the course!

As Paine put it, “We have it in our power to begin the world over again.”

Please do check out this episode of the Path to Liberty Podcast for a deep dive into this essential history. There, you’ll find both video and audio versions of the show – and if you prefer reading – there’s a bunch of original source documents so you can read and learn more – in context – on your own time.

Report Motivating Feds to Consider Gas Stove Ban Funded By Green Group Committed to Transition Away From… Natural Gas

Granite Grok - Tue, 2023-01-10 19:00 +0000

The Feds are coming for your gas stoves! “The US Consumer Product Safety Commission is considering the health risks associated with gas cooking.”  Why not just say you hate efficient, affordable home cooking? Or, how about choosing between charging the EV they made you buy with a 7-year loan or a hot meal?

Democrats are The Party of Choice.

New peer-reviewed research published last month in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health found that more than 12% of current childhood asthma cases in the US can be attributed to gas stove use.

“There is about 50 years of health studies showing that gas stoves are bad for our health, and the strongest evidence is on children and children’s asthma,” said Brady Seals, a manager in the carbon-free buildings program  at the nonprofit clean energy group RMI and a co-author of the study. “By having a gas connection, we are polluting the insides of our homes.”

Perr-reviewed. Oh, and paid for in part by RMI (emphasis, mine).

Funding This research was supported in part by internal funds of RMI and in part by the National Cancer Institute (1U01CA242740-01).

Who the heck is RMI?

RMI is an independent, non-partisan, nonprofit organization of experts across disciplines working to accelerate the clean energy transition and improve lives. Since our founding in 1982 by Amory Lovins, RMI’s chairman emeritus, we have grown to over 500 staff working on four continents with a global reach and reputation.

RMI decarbonizes energy systems through rapid, market-based change in the world’s most critical geographies to align with a 1.5°C future and address the climate crisis.

RMI wants you to shift from Natural Gas to electricity which, as you well know, is anything but decarbonization. Natural gas is a superior fuel for things that have allowed us to lower emissions (if you think we need to do that). In other words, RMI has an agenda and just paid for research supporting it.

Biden’s US Consumer Product Safety Commission is in on the same. But here’s the thing. It’s garbage.

Steve Milloy is (in his own words) “Perhaps the most influential climate science contrarian’ (Nature). Trump EPA transition. Biostat. Atty. Fund mgr. FOX News contrib. Founder, http://JunkScience.com.” I just followed him on Twitter. Let’s see how that works out.

In the meantime, having lived many years in the company of gas stoves, I agree. I can’t speak to 50 years of very convenient research, but I’ve known folks over the past (almost 60 years) who had kids and used gas (stove, oven, hot water, heat), and none of them had asthma. Maybe they’re the wrong color?

Senator Cory Booker (D., N.J.) and Representative Don Beyer (D., Va.) wrote a letter to the agency last month urging the commission to address the issue and calling the harmful emissions a “cumulative burden” on black, Latino and low-income households.

Senator Cory “Sex-Assault” Booker’s solution is to add significant financial strains on these families by forcing them to cook with more expensive electricity, which, given the lack of capacity and planned demand, could mean they eat cold food or go hungry.

The Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers argues that cooking produces harmful emissions regardless of the kind of stove used.

“Ventilation is really where this discussion should be, rather than banning one particular type of technology,” Jill Notini, a vice president at the association, told Bloomberg. “Banning one type of a cooking appliance is not going to address the concerns about overall indoor air quality. We may need some behavior change, we may need [people] to turn on their hoods when cooking.”

And?

The American Gas Association similarly argued against a ban.

“The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and EPA do not present gas ranges as a significant contributor to adverse air quality or health hazard in their technical or public information literature, guidance, or requirements,” Karen Harbert, the group’s president, told the outlet. “The most practical, realistic way to achieve a sustainable future where energy is clean, as well as safe, reliable and affordable, is to ensure it includes natural gas and the infrastructure that transports it.”

And they all have a vested interest in the outcome. Everyone’s got an agenda or a mouth to feed. And to Bloomberg’s credit, they mention someone from RMI as a co-author.

They never talk about the report’s funding. And maybe we can claim it’s implied, but no one ever says it. We get the word fear, endangering children, and it just happens to advance the Left’s energy agenda. One that has no basis in fact or science, either from the emissions side or the prescription side.

It’s all a scam, but the scheme has targeted gas cooking. Should we expect all the cooking show icons to write a letter of protest?

Closing note: If children’s safety were a true concern (including minority kids), the Feds wouldn’t have pushed COVID Jabs on them. There was never anything in the actual data (pick a  state or nation) that justified it.

Assets of the World Economic Forum?

Granite Grok - Tue, 2023-01-10 16:00 +0000

Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, Amber Heard, Evan Rachel Wood, Chessy Prout, Sam Bankman-Fried? Snake charmers to sell snake oil? Who is making the oil? Who is creating the campaign? Who is being recruited to sell it? And who is getting rich off the proceeds?

“Those who have the courage to question the indoctrination and lies of their society are the only ones who will find the truth.”

According to truthinplainsight.com, a former FBI boss admits the bureau has been infiltrated by “WEF Goons” who “Want to Destroy America.”

The FBI has been embedded with Twitter and with Perkins Coie, whose former partner, Bob Bauer, was Obama’s personal attorney and married to Anita Dunn of SKDK — a PR Company to several organizations tied up with or even official partners of the WEF. Among those are UN Women, L’Oreal, Vital Voices, Pfizer, Google, and Conde Nast.

As more details seep out about Sam Bankman-Fried and FTX, the most troublesome are the ones that point to buying out ethics watchdogs that the public should be able to rely upon, meetings at the White House, with the SEC and its partnerships with the World Economic Forum and Ukraine.

The 2023 Davos summit is about to take place between 10th & 26th of January in Switzerland. Billionaires from around the world will be there as well as Government leaders. 5000 troops will also be there to guard the safety of the billionaires.

Next time anyone mentions Klaus Schwab’s ideology to create a better world, do think about the hypocrisy of it all and the failures of the “puppets”…Is it really a coincidence that Random House owned by Bertelsmann who gave Klaus Schwab an award, is the publisher of Prince Harry’s “Spare” memoir?

Prince Harry & Meghan Markle became official WEF ambassadors for the victimhood-for-profit philanthrocapitalist movement on February 20th, 2020 (published on the WEF site) just one short week after they’d visited Stanford University to strategize for their “charities.” At Stanford, they met with Stanford’s president Marc Tessier-Lavigne (a WEF speaker and ex-Pfizer, another WEF partner), academics, and professors. Tessier-Lavigne (a WEF speaker) is currently being investigated for using tampered images for scientific research papers which have been used around the world. Why should anyone trust anything coming out of the WEF or any statement from Stanford? The track record is starting to falter.

Celebrity “survivors” or advocates for the #MeToo movement supported by Stanford’s feminist professors, the White House “Not Alone” task force, the UN, Vital Voices and the WEF claim to speak “Truth to Power”.

Seriously? — Klaus Schwab’s daughter is in charge of the Gender Equity part of the WEF. Nepotism reigns. It’s fine for women to get to 50/50 representation as long as they don’t question Klaus Schwab, George Soros, Joe Biden, Zelenskyy, Putin, Macron, and Trudeau among them: The last four of these all out of the “Young Global Leaders Program” that comes out of the WEF. So, incidentally, is Vladimir Putin.

What does the WEF despise? Sovereignty. Prince Harry appears to be a useful tool for the WEF, who likely had their hands on Meghan Markle at least as early as February 2018 when Vogue published her support of Times Up & MeToo. Vogue is, after all, a Conde Nast publication, and Conde Nast is partnered with the WEF along with the New York Times, NBC, Amazon (Washington Post), Apple, Tik Tok, Meta, and others.

There’s been some scrubbing on the WEF site of FTX as an official partner, but still up as partners are other companies with which FTX was directly involved: Sequoia Capitol, Robinhood, BlackRock, Temasec, and Ontario Teachers Pension Plan. It begs the question as to whether Sam Bankman-Fried was a puppet, especially as FTX EU opened in Cyprus in 2014, some years before FTX US in 2019. Curiously, mainstream media has not mentioned the 2014 FTX EU company but it’s right there on Opencorporates.com.

Donations by Bankman-Fried’s WEF-tell-tell-titled non-profit “Building a Stronger Future” to ethics watchdogs Propublica and Campaign Legal Center should alarm us all.

Coincidentally (and I do believe this is completely coincidental), the rise and fall of the love affair with Bitcoin coincides with the rise and fall of the Campus Survivor Movement and the #MeToo movement which followed it. But they do have some curious and interesting cross-overs. At the center, it would seem that the World Economic Forum has been relying on “ambassadors” (recruiting, giving them a script) and branding to sell an agenda for women/UNWomen and an agenda for Bitcoin: Charlotte Proudman, Emma Watson, Chessy Prout, Chanel Miller, Amber Heard, Evan Rachel Wood, Meghan Markle, Tom Brady, Gisele Bundchen…

Bitcoin was started in 2009, the same year that Nicole Schwab (daughter of Klaus and a Harvard graduate) started the Gender Equality Project. It was also the same year that the Department of Justice started funneling money to the University of New Hampshire for “Know Your Power” (Nancy Pelosi had published a book in 2008 by the same title) and “Bystander” training for combating campus sexual assault. However, by curious irony, these are now marketed under Soteria Solutions which shares the same logo as Soteria Finance Holdings which deals in Binance/Bitcoin and is owned by a company in Luxembourg which in turn is owned by a Stephen Schwarzman of BlackRock in New York which is tied to Sam Bankman-Fried’s FTX and the WEF.

Professor Michele Dauber of Stanford Law School (where Sam Bankman-Fried’s mother started “Mind the Gap”) had started “Building a Better Legal Future” in March 2008 with Davida Brook (who became Amber Heard’s legal counsel with Roberta Kaplan). She then co-drafted the “Dear Colleague” Title IX letter introduced by Joe Biden in April 2011 at the University of New Hampshire, where Soteria Solutions is based. Just as prosecutors maintain that the FTX scam was years in the making, the #MeToo and Campus Sexual Assault Survivor Movements were also orchestrated scams. There are many honest claims for #MeToo and Campus Sexual Assault, but these have been lost under the pile of political money-grabbing. Campuses are overburdened with administrators dedicated to handling Title IX. Costs have skyrocketed and the statistics bandied about remain the same. Not a very good return on the investment. And for all the millions pumped into the University of New Hampshire over the last decade, it can’t handle its own sexual assault problem.

UNH had a partnership with the Confucius Institute in China. The University was advised not to renew the agreement due to the influence the State department feared that China had on the campus. It wanted to ignore it. Take a look at Klaus Schwab’s love of China and Chinese business alongside Soteria Solutions, and it’s apparent links to Soteria Finance Holdings and Soteria Finance Holdings links to BlackRock, Bitcoin, and Binance, and you really start to wonder what has been going on.

Three days before “Dear Colleague” was introduced, an entrepreneurial attorney, Brett Sokolow, registered two non-profits in Pennsylvania which would make him millions off the “Dear Colleague” letter — advising colleges and administrators on how to investigate sexual assault. There’s a curious transaction between China and UPenn involving Joe Biden too. I don’t know if these are related, but all the same names pop up over and over and over again. It’s a pretty small club at the top. Sokolow is now being sued by a whistleblower for financial fraud tied to these businesses.

Around February 13th, 2020, it was reported that Prince Harry & Meghan Markle had secretly visited Stanford’s campus to “brainstorm” with Marc Tessier-Lavigne (president, ex Pfizer), academics and professors about their charitable interests. A week later it was reported that they had been jetted to DAVOS, to the World Economic Forum where their “altruistic” interests might blend beautifully with Goldman Sachs and other partners of the WEF.

The WEF reported Meghan’s victimhood status on February 20th, 2020, blaming British News Media. With Klaus Schwab’s daughter running the Gender Equality Project for WEF, recruiting high profile women and branding them as “victims” of the “patriarchy” (which apparently excludes Klaus Schwab, Joe Biden and Barrack Obama) was a lucrative business.

Two years earlier, in February 2018 and before Meghan’s marriage to Prince Harry, she had been featured in Vogue Magazine (a Conde Nast Publication — Conde Nast being another partner of the WEF) for Times Up/MeToo.

Times Up had been founded in January 2018 by Tina Tchen, Michele Obama’s former Chief of Staff with Hollywood Talent Agency CAA behind it. Democratic PR Company SKDK provided the PR blurb.

Emma Watson became ambassador for UN Women in September 2014 for the #HeForShe campaign, which tied the White House to UNWomen to WEF to Social Media in order to reach the “Harry Potter” generation.

Then there is the Women’s International Summit to which I believe Charlotte Proudman was invited in 2013 and potentially where she became radicalized, using LinkedIn for her stunt against a Silk. LinkedIn is also a WEF partner.

There is also “Vital Voices” for which Chessy Prout (the 15-year-old accuser in NH v Owen Labrie — also for the Harry Potter generation) is an ambassador. My research indicates that she was recruited in June 2014, before Owen Labrie had ever been spoken to by police. A story was created for her which didn’t hold up very well on the trial stand, but that got ignored because she’d already been branded a “survivor” just days into the trial by a PR rep (Laura L Dunn) who has a history of using media to spread lies about her own alleged assault and others, just for the White House.

Amber Heard was a VIP guest to “Vital Voices” events. The organization is repped by SKDK but the non-profit’s name seems to stem from Klaus Schwab and the WEF in 1975. It was founded with money from the Clinton Foundation in 1997. The Clinton Foundation was founded with the help of Jeffrey Epstein who also claimed to support Times Up.

Times Up was a global branding sham. Its board was rapidly dissolved at 7 pm on a Saturday night in 2021 when conflicts of interest became apparent surrounding the organization’s aid to Andrew Cuomo against his accusers.

Roberta Kaplan (who had been Harvey Weinstein’s attorney in September 2017 when he met with Jodi Kantor & Meghan Twohey before their expose that kicked off #MeToo) claimed that “Times Up” couldn’t be stopped. Not only did “Times Up” get exposed as a sham but so did Roberta Kaplan.

Tina Tchen got exposed as well. She had been Michele Obama’s Chief of Staff, Head of the Council for Women & Girls as well as founder of Times Up.

What else was a global branding scam? TerraMar — tied to Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, Amir Dosal (UN) and therefore WEF too.

FTX is the latest scam tied to the WEF. But it didn’t start in 2019 as they would have us believe. It started in Cyprus in 2014 as FTX EU and is registered there to Sam Bankman-Fried who would have been around 22 at the time, freshly graduated from MIT where the SEC’s Gary Gensler had taught a course in Bitcoin.

Its launch coincided with a change of regime in Ukraine and announcements at the WEF espousing the benefits of Bitcoin and then George Soros’ stating the opportunities to be had with Ukraine. No surprise that FTX became an official partner with Ukraine and that Klaus Schwab had Zelenskyy to Davos and was all over him. I stand with Ukraine and against the invasion, but there’s more going on here. We should be able to agree that a nation and its citizens must be saved and protected from the terror of a foreign invasion and still be able to criticize it for money laundering and child and sex trafficking.

Ukraine did have a well-documented history of sex trafficking and money laundering. Zelenskyy was found to have Pandora Papers accounts. He has just signed an act to crush freedom of the press. I don’t see Klaus Schwab criticizing him for this.

The New York Times, Washington Post (under Amazon), Google, and NBC are also partnered with the WEF. Anita Dunn of SKDK just had to sell her shares of Google and Pfizer (also a WEF partner) for conflicts of interest. Strangely enough, Anita Dunn was Director of Communications for Obama, advised Harvey Weinstein, and strategized PR for Biden’s election (which received significant donations from FTX/Alameda/Sam Bankman-Fried). SKDK also represents the Government of Ukraine, and Obama’s personal speechwriter was supplied. SKDK had to register as a foreign agent. Mainstream Media doesn’t talk about this.

FTX US got going in November 2019, right around the time, or right after Obama said that Democrats couldn’t let Bernie Sanders get the nomination, Sam Bankman-Fried’s mother and a junior staffer of Obama’s 2012 campaign, Graham Gottlieb, had started up a non-profit at Stanford called “Mind The Gap” with Paul Brest who is tied to the Hewlett Foundation. Hewlett Packard is also a partner of the WEF and Valerie Jarrett, Obama’s Senior Advisor, held significant holdings in Google and Hewlett Packard according to financial disclosures when Obama was elected in 2008. She was also an alum of Stanford University.

The President of Stanford from 2000 to 2016 was John Hennessy, who has been tagged the “godfather” of Google.

Netflix, Apple, Twitter, Siri, Yahoo are all close to Stanford/its board. If you want to create a narrative and influence public opinion, seems like a visit to ingratiate yourself with Stanford is the first stop on the 21st century “Grand Tour” for anyone who is anyone in the celebrity WEF Global Elite World.

It helps that Professor Michele Dauber is both there and on the Silicon Valley Democratic Committee and married to Ken Dauber, who is an early Google hire engineer and a public official in Palo Alto. Dauber went to law school at Northwestern University, where Ken Dauber taught. So did Meghan Markle. The chances that Markle met the Daubers in February 2020 are quite high. They have another connection,v too: Christopher Bouzy of Bot Sentinel. Bouzy worked with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on social media. Michele Dauber tagged Christopher Bouzy, warning of 7000 Twitter accounts who supported Johnny Depp. Mainstream media networks have relied on Bot Sentinel, although quite why beggars belief. He too has had his fair share of crypto scams, as has Michele Dauber. #MeToo and Crypto cons go together like birds of a feather.

The FBI is presently investigating Kids-4-Crypto. A scheme that impacted middle-class families and children. It is said to be California’s biggest white-collar and public corruption investigation in California’s history. A divorce attorney Ponzi scheme that involved public judges, lawyers, accountants, therapists, real estate agents and attorneys court appointed to represent children or to act as private judges.

Next to Michele Dauber in the Law School at Stanford are Barbara Fried, Sam Bankman Fried’s mom, and Pamela Karlan — both feminist activists and heavily tied into the Democratic Party.

Barbara Fried penned an article in 2017 arguing for feminist class politics:

A few months later, in 2017, Sam Bankman-Fried opened Alameda Research. Then in 2018, “Mind the Gap” opened (Barbara Fried, Paul Brest, Graham Gottlieb), and Michele Dauber launched the “Enough Voter Movement.”

The mission of MTG is to “empower private political donors to strengthen our democracy by providing them with evidence-based guidance on the electoral strategies, tactics, and programs that are likely to achieve the greatest impact in a given election”.

According to people familiar with the organization and the New York Times, Mind the Gap provided recommendations on which organizations to contribute donations to for a network of political donors that included her own son cryptocurrency entrepreneur and former owner of defunct crypto company FTX Sam Bankman-Fried.

Graham Gottlieb, who went on to found Mind The Gap Research, had been a fellow at Stanford in 2017–18 in the “Center for Advanced Behavioral Studies.” Stanford has scrubbed the full description of what he was up to. What is left reads:

“Graham Gottlieb will dedicate his fellowship year to studying approaches to deepen the integration of behavioral science and federal-level public policy.”

“It felt like a silver bullet, and that’s how they marketed it,” the person affiliated with Mind the Gap told Recode, characterizing the group’s thinking as: “We have figured out a way to game the system.”

Michele Dauber is on the board of the Silicon Valley Democratic Committee as well as being a professor at Stanford Law School. The likelihood of notes comparing with Barbara Fried are high.

Shortly after Michele Dauber started the “Enough Voter Movement” — designed specifically to go after male republicans (and some male democrats) using sexual assault and to oust them in favor of female democrats — Amber Heard campaigned for the Enough Voter Movement. She also appeared in Glamour Magazine (Conde Nast — WEF’s partner) as “Nobody’s Victim” who claimed veganism (discredited by her friend), atheism and bisexuality. In that article she talked about political lobbying and stated that she was amplifying Michele Dauber’s voice. Who was the “veganism” message serving (apparently Amber Heard isn’t really a vegan)? Bill Gates — another close ally of Klaus Schwab’s.

If Sam Bankman-Fried was running a Ponzi Scheme that benefitted political campaigns using false advertising, social media, branding and the bribing of watchdogs, we cannot ignore the practice of “gaming the system” which can be traced to Stanford & its feminist & Democratic Party activist professors Michele Dauber, Barbara Fried and, possibly, Pamela Karlan who was receiving an excessive salary from Stanford who were also being paid by the DOJ for her services.

Just because Pamela Karlan appears on a site that says “ethics” doesn’t mean to say that she has any — as signalled by her quietly stepping down from the DOJ only when financial disclosures expose the double dipping grift.

Just because Amber Heard says she’s a vegan doesn’t mean she is one either.

Just because Tina Tchen, Roberta Kaplan and a board of 70 Times Up board members say they are commanding a global effort to address gender inequality doesn’t mean they are.

It is all “Branding” and who should Obama, Biden, Tchen, Valerie Jarrett and co be tied up with for speaking engagements? CAA who just purchased a Global Brand Management Company for an undisclosed amount. The genius of the press announcement omits the fact that the company was actually bankrupt and owes Harvey Weinstein’s AMFAR scandal partner Kenneth Cole $6 million.

History will repeat itself as long as the WEF controlled news media has its way of making us forget the inconvenient failures of its partners and partnerships but they do mount up.

Klaus Schwab’s Invisible Government is in full play via public-private corporate partnerships across Governments, Universities, Celebrities, Academics, and Media. But the results are awful. The American dream that created a middle class has been on the slide since the 1970’s right when Klaus Schwab started. Mental health issues, suicides, class division have increased in the last decade. And now global elites such as Jeff Bezos and Jamie Dimon (JP Morgan is also a WEF partner) warn us of a harsh recession.

The ties to the World Economic Forum that run through Stanford, the #MeToo movement and #FTX, beg the question:

Was Sam Bankman-Fried an asset given PR & branding to carry out a global scam with the help of savvy and connected parents and professors at Stanford and MIT? Gary Gensler of the SEC had been teaching a course in Bitcoin at MIT. The World Economic Forum and George Soros were espousing Bitcoin and Soros was hopeful of changing Ukraine. Was Sam Bankman Fried their man?

Are Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, Amber Heard, Evan Rachel Wood (who lobbied to increase the expansion of the Victims Rights Bill and also looks like she was recruited for the “Phoenix Act” complete with “Phoenix Rising” documentary as her story), Chessy Prout, Alyssa Milano (#MeToo brand ambassador) WEF assets too via Times Up, UN Women, Vital Voices?

Vital Voices lamely made an announcement after midnight to help women in Afghanistan. Notice of their potential plight had been given by former president George Bush months earlier. What’s the point of having a global non-profit “Vital Voices” if all they can do is create celebrity get togethers, and not actually do anything to help women in real need?

What is likely not a sham are the claims in the lawsuit filed by the AG of the US Virgin Islands against JP Morgan (another partner of the World Economic Forum) for its business dealings with Jeffrey Epstein. Deutsche Bank was fined $150 million for Epstein and his clients. It’s still a partner of the World Economic Forum.

But in this world, democracy is dead. Real & valid claims get shut down, fake claims get promoted. So much for the fickle DEI message of the Democratic Party: A female black attorney doing her job got fired by a Democratic Governor while Joe Biden happened to be on vacation in the same neck of the woods. The US Virgin Islands AG has been seeking to track down the money laundering network tied to Epstein and Maxwell for a while. Male powers that be who fake support of gender and race equality want to thwart her ability to do so. The US media has been their friend and kept the money laundering claims on the down low.

It’s no surprise that Jes Stanley (at JP Morgan in 2013 and co-signer of the endorsement for Epstein to get a bank account in the Virgin Islands) was forced to leave Barclays after his dealings with Epstein were revealed.

Who has evaded scrutiny thus far in all of this? Lyn Forester de Rothschild solicited Epstein as a client when she joined the board of Deutsche bank in 2013. Lyn Forester de Rothschild quietly stepped down from Rothschild holdings the same month that Ghislaine Maxwell was arrested. Rothschild wrote about “inclusive capitalism” back in 2014. Will she be invited to teach a course at Columbia now that Hillary Clinton will be there as a professor of global affairs? Has Columbia University overlooked the fact that Epstein’s victims have been chasing discovery about the Clinton Global Foundation, which funds Vital Voices and its branches all over the world?

Would anybody not connected to Stanford Law School and Silicon Valley Democratic Party have been able to pull off the same scams as #MeToo and #FTX? I believe the answer is no.

The spotlight must turn to Stanford Law School, its professors, and their ties to Government administrations and, ultimately, the WEF.

Wasn’t Prince Andrew coined the “useful idiot” for Epstein?

Are all of these shams just relying on useful idiots to sell snake oil?

Jeffrey Epstein said Prince Andrew was ‘a useful idiot’ and used the Duke to gain access to ‘shady foreign markets’ where he could make money, royal biographer Tina Brown claims

Sounds like a pattern…..

Chessy Prout was given Hill Impact as her PR company. It boasts using stealth tactics to secure $21 billion in Government contracts. Its specialty being the Department of Defense (with whom RAINN has a contract. Chessy of course, has lobbied for RAINN even though the fine print on RAINN’s site mentions that nothing on it is necessarily supported by the Department of Justice).

RAINN got it right in 2014, but I suspect that threats to its funding made it come around and tow the party line.

Amber Heard had Precision Strategies as her PR company until one week into the Johnny Depp v Amber Heard Virginia suit.

Precision Strategies’ home page reads:

We’ve won presidential elections, defined Fortune 50 brands, shaped public opinion, and created movements from the ground up.

Amber Heard had another PR company due to her ambassadorship for L’Oreal and UN Women: SKDK headed by Anita Dunn who was PR strategist for both Obama and Biden and whose husband, Bob Bauer, was Obama’s personal attorney at Perkins Coie which represented Twitter and housed an office of the FBI.

The Truth in Plainsight article below asserts that FTX crypto exchange was colluding with the World Economic Forum to launder money for the Democrats. Could the same be said about the “MeToo” movement organizations and their operatives like Michele Dauber and Amber Heard? Were incendiary #MeToo headlines used drive online traffic towards sites that would help Sam Bankman-Fried and his parents and Michele Dauber’s fundraising for the Democratic Party?

https://truthinplainsight.com/ftx-crypto-exchange-was-colluding-with-wef-to-launder-money-for-democrats/#:~:text=FTX is also an official World Economic Forum, been exposed for what it was all long.

Few lies carry the inventor’s mark, and the most prostitute enemy to truth, may spread a thousand without being known for the author: besides, as the vilest writer has his readers, so the greatest liar has his believers: and it often happens, that if a lie be believed only for an hour, it has done its work, and there is no farther occasion for it. Falsehood flies, and truth comes limping after it; so that when men come to be undeceived, it is too late; the jest is over, and the tale has had its effect: like a man, who has thought of a good repartee, when the discourse is changed, or the company parted; or like a physician, who has found out an infallible medicine, after the patient is dead. — Jonathan Swift “The Examiner” 1710

Largest Rock Lithium Deposit in US Goes to Court

Granite Grok - Tue, 2023-01-10 14:30 +0000

Late last year, we reported news of the largest hard rock lithium deposit ever discovered. Given that there’s not enough of the stuff to achieve the ineffable utopia of net zero, you’d think the Dems would be pushing hard from all corners to get it out of the ground.

Nope.

The landowners want to mine it, but they have two problems.

First, it’s in America, and we’re not allowed to let anyone see what mining any sort of lithium does to the environment.

Open-pit mining is acceptable in dirt-poor third-world countries or places that hate us. It is acceptable to despoil Gaia to fulfill Western Prog fantasies of a clean energy future if they can’t see it. An interesting juxtaposition for people who claim to be liberal. Deference to one invisible “god” at the expense of all others by a political faction that denies god even exists.

It’s all good as long we cannot see the scars,

Second, the lithium deposit is on land owned by Mary and Gary Freeman, but it is in Maine, where the mining laws are so strict there are no active mines. They want the right to dig it up. State laws make it impossible, so they asked the courts to clarify the meaning of the word metals in the context of what they claim is not a metal but a rock.

At the heart of both appeals is the phrasing of the 2017 law, which refers to “metallic mineral.” Most minerals contain metallic elements, but the term has no commonly agreed upon definition in the scientific community. That has made it difficult for state regulators to figure out what qualifies as one without explicit guidance from lawmakers.

Spodumene, which has no history of regulation in Maine, was not discussed during talks on the law and should thus be considered a metallic mineral, said DEP officials, even though the mining act’s regulations “exceed what would be necessary to allow environmentally responsible extraction of spodumene, and effectively prohibit spodumene extraction.”

The Freemans argue that spodumene is a rock, not a metal, and should fall under the state’s quarrying regulations.

The Freemans own the land to look for other sorts of “rock” when they came across the spodumene: “a pyroxene mineral consisting of lithium aluminum inosilicate, LiAl₂, and is a source of lithium. It occurs as colorless to yellowish, purplish, or lilac kunzite, yellowish-green or emerald-green hiddenite, prismatic crystals, often of great size.”

Yeah, I looked it up.

I can’t say what a court might decide or what the Maine Department of Environmental Protection might say. I’m no expert on rocks or metals, but I am familiar with how government regulations prevent domestic mineral development in favor of politics even when the “mineral” is essential to the politics.

I think the Biden EPA will probably want to cause some trouble. And if the Freemans are old enough, they may be tied up in the permission-getting process until they’ve died or the government takes it from them and gives the mining rights to someone else.

If things get ugly, I can picture the IRS wanting to look at their families’ tax returns for the past hundred years, and God help them if they vote or donate to Republicans.

But it is something they might be able to fix with a donation to the right people.

NHLA Public Hearing Testimony Training Session

Granite Grok - Tue, 2023-01-10 13:00 +0000

Former NHLA board member and endorsed Representative Dan McGuire has offered to host an NHLA Bill Testimony Training session in Concord this week.

This Thursday, there will be a public hearing on CACR 1 relating to the governor. Providing that there be a lieutenant governor who shall assume the duties of the governor if the governor is incapacitated.

The intent of this training is for interested students to come to the public hearing, observe and/or testify and then, after the hearing (it is the last hearing of the day in the room), stay in the room for a post-hearing discussion on what happened, what people could have done better and general principles of testifying at a public hearing.

Note that the NHLA has not taken a position on this proposed constitutional amendment, so it’s a great way to go and potentially speak for the first time without the pressure of feeling like you might let down your peers! Even if you just observe and stay for the post-hearing discussion, this will be a great opportunity to learn so that you are prepared for the next time you’d like to try your hand at testifying!

It is recommended that you take a look at our written guidance on testifying before this event. If you choose to testify, please be sure that your remarks are less than 3 minutes. There is nothing wrong with speaking for fewer than 3 minutes!

Thu, January 12, 2023, 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM EST

Legislative Office Building 33 N State St Room 306 Concord, NH 03301

Good Guy With a Phone and Pen Repeals and Rescinds All COVID-19 Mandates

Granite Grok - Tue, 2023-01-10 11:30 +0000

A new Republican governor who just took office sat down to take care of business this week. What were his first two executive actions? Repeal, revoke, and rescind all of the COVID-19 restrictions or mandates of his Democrat predecessor.

On Friday, Governor Joe Lombardo issued his first two executive orders. Gov. Lombardo abolished and canceled COVID rules made by the previous administration and urged state officials to address state worker gaps.

Excellent work, people of Nevada. Let’s hope he has the political capital to put a few roadblocks in front of future governors looking to deny people’s individual rights and freedoms for no good reason.

In 2022 Joe Biden’s IRS Decided to “Eat The Poor”

Granite Grok - Tue, 2023-01-10 01:00 +0000

The political left applauds class-warfare street theater. Mobs with mock guillotine chanting kill the rich or eat the rich. It justified their giving the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) another 80 billion (with a ‘b’). More “b” oots on the ground to go after millionaires and “b” illionaires.

Related: Sandy Cortez (AOC) Shows Off Her ‘Tax the Rich Dress’ at $30,000.00/Ticket Met Gala

But the IRS appears to have the same staffing issues as everyone else. Despite the pile of fiat money, the result of this dearth of bodies is to fill its audit quotas by picking low-hanging fruit. They are taking a bite out of poor and low-income Americans at a higher rate than the rich they are meant “to eat” (emphasis, mine).

On Wednesday, Syracuse University’s Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) released data provided to it by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) on audits performed by the agency in fiscal year 2022. Despite the infusion of new funding earmarked for the IRS via last year’s Inflation Reduction Act, the agency continued historic trends of hassling primarily low-income taxpayers, with relatively few millionaires and billionaires getting caught up in the audit sweep.

The taxpayer class with unbelievably high audit rates—five and a half times virtually everyone else—were low-income wage-earners taking the earned income tax credit,” reported TRAC, noting that the poorest taxpayers are “easy marks in an era when IRS increasingly relies upon correspondence audits yet doesn’t have the resources to assist taxpayers or answer their questions.”

If you (trigger warning!) shoot an email or letter off to the wealthy, they forward it to the tax lawyers, who then eat the IRS or tie them up in expensive and time-intensive “talks” that might include some connected douche-bag in the bureaucracy or even congress.

Eating the rich takes a lot of time and money. It’s much easier to target people who can’t afford accountants or lawyers or know just one bureaucrat. The IRS agent that sent them the letter.

Related: Those 87,000 Armed IRS Agents Are Actually Coming for Your Free Speech

Fisking the peasants who have no castle walls behind which they can hide. Not much has changed. And as I’ve noted before, that is not the only purpose of this massive expansion. They will also be responsible for speech therapy.

Ending Free Speech and the protections enshrined in the First Amendment is both a journey and a destination for the Left. Message control is essential to any authoritarian rule. You must make examples of anyone who dares to contradict the approved narratives.

So, why not “hide” your ministry of truth inside the IRS? … We’re getting an additional 87,000 Lois Lerner’s with urban combat training. All, I posit, to establish the ministry of truth by other means. Sure, they’ll audit a few returns, but most of them will belong to people who lack the ability to remain silent.

Attack the lower and middle classes. Make a few examples of some upper-middle-class dissenters. Raid the odd former president’s home. Maybe a CEO here or there who donates to the wrong party or a doctor who said the wrong thing about vaccines on Twitter.

You might want to say, “it ain’t so,” but we’re already living it. It is funded on the backs of not just the poor and middle-class but their children and grandchildren.

I have my own tax reform plan. Let’s cut the IRS staff by 87000 before they add any more, even if it takes them below zero, then duplicate this recruitment plan in every agency. The US military will need to stay staffed. And we can debate a few other potential necessities.

But suppose you return all that money to the peasants who earned it and reciprocally eliminate all the future debt these agencies would have created. In that case, we’d find the states together or individually able to attend to the needs of the people.

I know. I should expect another letter from the IRS.

Time to End the Weingarten Party

Granite Grok - Mon, 2023-01-09 23:30 +0000

Messing with our children is a detriment to their future and the direction of this country. The Pandemic took its toll on every individual, but the way the teacher’s union used COVID as a bargaining tool took its impact on every student in America.

We know by test scores that the last two-plus years have seen a significant drop in reading and math scores. College entrance test scores are at their lowest average in three decades. We will not know for years how much damage has been done to elementary school children with mask mandates and remote learning.

The driving force for restrictions and terms for reopening schools is the teacher’s unions. The American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and the National Education Association (NEA) are two of the largest unions in the country and worked in unison with the CDC and Biden White House on how and when the schools would reopen. When we look at the decline in education quality, we can point to the AFT President, Randi Weingarten, as public enemy number one. She has shown by her actions that the AFT was more concerned with concessions on cultural issues than with the education of our children.

Over the weekend, Weingarten went on the record saying that remote learning was a failure and not a substitute for classroom attendance. Too late, Randi. That is what parents told you for years, but you had turned a deaf ear to them as you worked with the DOJ to have vocal parents labeled as Domestic Terrorists. We now know who the real villain is, and Randi Weingarten is guilty of, among other things, projection.

Weingarten saw an opportunity with the COVID Pandemic and used it well to bring about change in issues unrelated to education. We must address one thing first. The teacher’s unions should be involved in the working conditions for its members, the teachers. There is no reason for these unions to be involved in decisions that impact the education of students. The lines are blurred,.and the unions have overstepped their niche.

Weingarten has been the President of the United Federation of Teachers (1998-2008) and the American Federation of Teachers (2008-present), and in that time has built herself a dynasty. She draws a salary above $500,000, more than the President and the highest-paid federal employee, the now-retired Dr. Anthony Fauci. The problem with Weingarten is not her salary; it has to be detailed because it is funded with dues from underpaid teachers and staff. The problem is the list of items she negotiated during COVID.

Weingarten is opposed to teacher accountability and charter schools. She has favored subsidized housing for teachers and tying class size to salaries. She agrees but denies that Critical Race Theory and sexual-oriented topics are taught in schools. Her beliefs in unified restrooms, gender assignment, and transgender issues may be tied to her gay personal relationship. Very few of these issues are related to education, but all were used as pawns when deciding when her teachers would return to class.

Weingarten, the teacher’s unions, and even the Department of Education have all been detrimental to the education quality for over thirty years and need to be eradicated. Unfortunately, all are far too powerful and may need to be tolerated forever. That is unfortunate for our children and future.

What Is Money?

The Liberty Block - Mon, 2023-01-09 22:02 +0000

The man who raises cows and bulls has valuable assets, but livestock is difficult to carry in your pocket and not practical for dividing into small denominations. Animals also live for only a few years. The fisherman has lots of fish, but they also die quickly, and not everyone even likes fish.

What if My Bag of Limited-Time “All-Female” M&M Candies Identifies as Male?

Granite Grok - Mon, 2023-01-09 22:00 +0000

M&M Mars is addicted to milking mental illness to sell candies. It’s okay. Your Government is using fear to poison you. Maybe they could work together? Find a stable way to put mRNA toxins into #woke pieces of candy-covered chocolate. Or how about puberty blocker M&Ms? While we wait?

Related: M&M Mars Introduces Inclusive Purple ‘Character’ And I have Questions …

M&M’s creator Mars will release “all-female” M&M’s candy packages for a limited time to honor women who are “flipping the status quo.”

The company announced the feminist-forward candy wrappers Thursday, saying it will exclusively display M&M’s female characters: the green, brown and most recently introduced purple M&M.

In addition to featuring the three female M&M’s on the wrappers, each package in this limited run will only include the corresponding green, brown and purple candy-coated chocolates.

So, gender bigotry and discrimination. Got it. I mean, seriously. How do you know those things are female? You’re not a biologist. And who are you to identify a color with a gender or a sexual preference? The only thing you’ve flipped is the bird to all those fragile, easily triggered, purple-haired non-binary body positive they thems.

This move is the latest in a series of marketing moves M&M’s has made to promote inclusivity. Its previous announcement involved the introduction of the purple female M&M who represents body positivity and self-acceptance.

And there you go, forcing your perception onto others.

I don’t suppose you’ve considered my idea after you introduced purple?

A BLM&M would be “inclusive.” But she’d have to live in a mansion in a predominately wealthy white neighborhood for it to be true to life. Speaking of which, there’s been an exponential rise in drug abuse and overdose deaths (from Fentanyl) since M&Ms started getting #woke, so Ms. Purple as a drug addict, works.

How about sex work? That’s a respectable life choice for the woke. Human trafficking M&Ms -usually people of color, but there’s a market for underage white girls in parts of the world where slavery or Clintons’ are still a thing.

So many ways to make M&Ms more fun. Like having your bag of all-female candies identify as male or perhaps as men who robbed women of athletic scholarships, trophies, or awards by competing as women.

It’s not very inclusive if you leave them out.

The U of Q Scolds Coffee Drinkers for Dooming the Planet

Granite Grok - Mon, 2023-01-09 20:30 +0000

A handful of egg heads in the Great White North are concerned about the detrimental effects of coffee on the planet. Drinking it, brewing it, and those individual, disposable coffee capsules (K-Cups). Yikes!

Global coffee consumption has been increasing steadily for almost 30 years. With a daily average consumption of 2.7 cups of coffee per person, coffee is now Canada’s most popular drink. It is estimated that around two billion cups of coffee are consumed daily worldwide.

This demand has led to considerable diversification in the ways of preparing coffee as well, including the creation of coffee capsules. The popularity of these capsules has divided the public opinion because this method of preparation, which uses single-use individual packaging, is harmful to the environment. …

The pollution resulting from the preparation of coffee at home is just the tip of the iceberg.

The rest of the iceberg includes the actual agriculture, harvesting, shipping, processing, and packing, which emits (we assume unnecessary or excessive) greenhouse gases. But doesn’t being a pseudo-intellectual (tea-drinkin’?) climate stooge create greenhouse gasses?

This is just a guess, but if you worship the pantheon of progressive climate gods, we must assume you believe the net-zero mythology. The electric future. A vision built on the backs of human trafficking, low-wage, or slave labor. Toxic rare-earth metals exhumed in open-pit mines, trucked, shipped, and transported to places like China, another human-rights violator. A land with few, if any, environmental regulations that facilitate the lie of the green dream with power derived from dirty coal to manufacture metal parts and process these toxic bits into batteries that must be transported around the globe on ships, then put on trucks. Delivered to another manufacturing facility, all of which emit massive amounts of whatever we’re emitting this week that you’ve labeled bad.

Did someone else call dibs on investigating all that consumption and greenhouse gas emissions?

And do you have any thoughts on an IPCC report claiming climate change was endangering the “bean belt” and could negatively affect production? Or that during this so-called time of detrimental climate, coffee bean production has nearly doubled.

Would you be offended if we made fun of you and the entire exercise, which, as far as we can tell, is little more than wasted emissions to generate the contradictory nonsense du jour in pursuit of more tax dollars for eggheads tasked with loading an endless stream of “intellectual” quarters into the laundromat?

Just When You Think It Can’t Get Worse, It Does

Granite Grok - Mon, 2023-01-09 19:00 +0000

I had to check three times, as I didn’t believe the scores could go any lower. Drumroll, please. I guess a new 9 million dollar school and 7 or 8 (lost count) tax cap overrides in ten years for the school budget does not improve education.

In 2010 Dover schools tested 78% in math, starting to freefall to 38% in 2019. It hit an all-time low of 35% in 2022 (per the NHDOE numbers for Dover).

The parameters are scoring 50% and higher! Therefore, you are graduating 65% who failed math! Reading and science are not much better. Rather than address this tragedy, you, who were elected to this city, continue to do nothing about this free fall.

You pander to the union and do not demand results. Porn in school libraries is protected. Anyone can use any bathroom. You obviously don’t care about educating children in math, reading, and science. Pronouns are not a word that can function by themselves as a noun but something entirely different.

Most Dover school children can’t do simple math, know US geography, how to read a ruler, units of measure, read an analog clock, read and write cursive or other skills and knowledge that will help them be productive adults. The bar is set so low, and after 12 years of complacency, it’s your norm… But you got your override and gave the union what they wanted without any accountability whatsoever, again. School children are again SOL.

Nothing like more than half my taxes going toward a failing education system, and all you do is cry for more. If you were actually producing results, you know, children who are learning the three Rs and scoring decent, among other useful life skills, it would be an excellent bar to stand on when bleeding us for more taxes. The bar is underwater, and parents that can, are pulling their children from public school faster than a locomotive.

You are a busy bunch getting teacher union members and your squad friends yelling at the rest of us that we hate teachers. Teachers hate taxpayers, and those who question why, are called bigots and racists while laughing at citizens. Apparently, to you, it is easier than working to produce ACTUAL positive results. It could be you don’t know how to improve the situation!?

This is really bad, and the longer you all sit on your hands, the more village idiots you’ll produce.

Can’t wait for the excuses on this one. Much to your chagrin, I won’t hold my breath for any.

Pick of the post:

People on the Right keep tearing their hair out over 2020 and why judges don’t raise doubts about the elections.  In parallel with that is the gloating by the Left that judges have not done so.  Let me put forth two reasons why I think the 2020, and 2022, elections have not been overturned.

First, once the first domino falls in publicly ruling that an election might be corrupted enough to flip the result, every election – whether federal, state, or local – that has seen a flip will get re-examined.  Doubtless some, likely many, will get found out as being fraudulent – and not just recently, but well into the past.  And then the proverbial Faith in the System will get destroyed (like it’s not already to anyone with three brain cells that talk with each other).  Thus any indication of fraud that is not immediately dismissed, let alone moves forward in court, is a crack in the dam that will result in a crack-spiderweb that grows until the dam fails.  And when people understand that the corruption of elections is so widespread, they will question everything – and not just elections.

Second, no judge wants their name to be on the document that does this.  Among other things they saw what happened to SCOTUS Justices after the 2000 election ruling.  They, too, like their invites to the “beautiful people” cocktail parties and look forward to the enemedia puff pieces lauding their careers.  They don’t want those pieces to be scathing reviews of their decisions littered with words like “controversial” and so on.

It’s similar to the pharma situation.  I will, and have, argued that there is more than enough evidence to not just suggest but PROVE that Pfizer, and others, have committed fraud with respect to The Jab.  And again, no judge will so rule because once it’s ruled, all liability protections are gone.  And then the avalanche of lawsuits begins.

Pharma gets bankrupted, and the kickbacks royalties and campaign contributions dry up as pharma fights for its life.

Not to mention the politicians who will be called to account for their participation in this… and, if that doesn’t happen, the spate of 3 AM social calls begins… and the list is long.

Man in Wheelchair Scores Knockout

Granite Grok - Mon, 2023-01-09 16:00 +0000

It was a stark image that the mainstream media would work feverishly to keep off the airwaves. Joe Biden exited Air Force 1 and was met by Governor Greg Abbott waiting for him in his wheelchair with a letter in his hand.

This meeting was not a warm reception for the President, who was making his first-ever trip to the Border in his flirty year career in Washington. Abbott was not officially invited to meet with the President. One of Abbott’s aids received an email last night asking if the Governor would be at the airport to meet Biden. This social faux pax is a horrific slight of protocol for a President not to coordinate a state visit with the sitting Governor. Just another example of incompetence in the Biden White House.

Abbott used the opportunity to chastise the President for ignoring the Border Crisis and told the President he was “Two years late and $20 Billion too short.” In answer to the President’s claim that the Republicans do not have any solutions to the crisis and that they are to blame, Abbott handed a one-page letter to Biden. This letter highlights five steps that we should take to curb the flow. Abbott’s appearance and this scathing letter are a one-two punch Biden would have liked to avoid.

These are the points detailed by Abbott:

  • Aggressively prosecuting illegal entry and illegal reentry.
  • Complying with laws mandating that various categories of aliens “shall” be detained.
  • Stopping parole for aliens en masse in violation of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996.
  • Fully reinstating the Migrant Protection Protocols, such that aliens seeking admission remain in Mexico while proceedings unfold in the United States.
  • Immediately resuming construction of the border wall in Texas, using the billions of dollars Congress has appropriated for that purpose.

None of these are new ideas. Actually, these were all policies under Trump, and Biden negated them all by executive order on Day 1 two years ago. Abbott is telling Biden the system was working under Trump, and reinstating them would go a long way to recovering our Southern Border.

Biden was also heard commenting to Border Patrol officers that more resources are needed to bolster the Border, and he will deliver those funds. The problem here is an interpretation of the crisis. Border Patrol and the government of Texas want funds to prevent illegals from entering Texas. Biden wants to provide more resources for processing the illegals once they are in the country. That contrast is how out of touch with the Border Crisis the President is.

Two other members of the Biden Team also made fools of themselves today. On the flight from Washington to El Paso, Karine Jeanne-Pierre claimed that under the Biden policies, people crossing our Border was down over 25% in the first few months of FY 2023. This claim is an outright lie and a deception to the American people. She spoke to those who only get their information from the msm and are unaware of the facts. The crossings into El Paso alone have gone up over 200%. A far cry from her claim. The other was Mayorkas, who is useless but had to accompany the President. The only question posed to him was will he resign. He says emphatically that he will not. In that case, we will have to impeach him.

Regardless of the Outcome of the President’s visit, democrats will use the Biden visit to bolster their claim that the Border is the fault of Republicans. They started on the Sunday morning talk shows. We must keep working on getting the truth out to those with their heads in the sand.

White NH Dems Lost Their Presidential Primary And They Only Have Themselves to Blame

Granite Grok - Mon, 2023-01-09 14:30 +0000

NH Dem Chair Ray Buckley has all but admitted defeat as regards the DNC kicking NH a few rungs down its primary calendar. Michael Graham explores it in a piece at NHJournal, and the observations are good overall, but I think he left something out.

Related: Presidential Primary Politics – If NH Is Too White to be “First” Then We “Identify” as Black

For years, Buckley, Shaheen, and company have insisted their party’s FITN was secure. Nothing to see here, move along.

Meanwhile, their fellow Democrats were unleashing a political assault on the primary on racial grounds. Some of the biggest names in their party said explicitly that New Hampshire voters weren’t to be trusted when it came to candidates of color. Granite State Democratic primary voters are simply “too White” to be allowed to go first.

We’ve covered the NH is too-white narrative for a while on these pages. An example.

New Hampshire is the hot blonde at the primary party, and the other girls (and boys) are pissed that no one pays attention to them until she’s about to leave the room.

So, the bigger problem, at least for New Hampshire Democrats, is this. They lean heavily on the very narrative being used to undermine the state’s primary status. Sorry, lean is too polite. They lean their body into the left hook (pivot those hips) they deliver at any opportunity.

Racism rants are their moldy bread and butter—the rotten apple of their culture-war eye. The spoiled cream in their supposedly fair-trade, responsibly soured, low-carbon-footprint latte.

Their hate and systemic racism narrative monster have risen to attack one of its creators (the Dems pale-white party chair has also been a DNC vice-chair for years).

They crapped in their backyard, pissed in their chardonnay, whining about white-this or white while nominating and electing or re-electing pasty white northeastern liberals.

New Hampshire Republicans? They were nominating great candidates for congress in CD2 who, if they were Democrats, would be people of color.

2014 – Marilinda Garcia. (Hispanic)

2016 – Jim Lawrence (Black)

2018 – Steve Negron (Hispanic)

2020 – Steve Negron (Hispanic)

2022 – Bob Burns scruffy but pasty white guy.

Not once did Democrats in that district pick a person of color over the pasty white incumbent. And at no point in any congressional race in NH history have NH Democrats nominated a person of color in a primary or elected one to higher office. White women, check. Gay white guy, check. People of color?

Related: If NH is Too White, Why Did Dems Reject Money for a Program That Attracts Minorities?

When super-white Carol Shea-Porter retired and left the NH CD-1 seat open in 2018, ten Democrats stepped up in that primary, all white.

In the 2012 contest, when Carol vied to get the seat back from Republican Frank Guinta, Caroll Dowdell announced she wanted a shot at the seat, but the state party convinced her to drop out to clear the way for pasty white Carol Shae-Porter. Carol won, but at what price?

The white price. Instead of building an inclusive and diverse bench to elevate candidates of color, they went all white all day and night. At the same time, those “racist” Republicans were nominating people of color almost every cycle, while Democrats were defending pasty white incumbents even when polling suggested it was time for a change on the Democrat side.

Dems accused Republicans of white guilt when they nominated not-so-white candidates, but we don’t have that. They do, and they still couldn’t bring themselves to walk the talk. They chose power and politics over rhetoric which, ironically, has been our position with regard to their white guilt narrative all along.

And it cost them their first in the Nation primary, which will still happen on the GOP side. And we are not doing two, so Dems will have to tag along, take their punishment from the party, with a significant loss of attention, money, and influence, and they have no one to blame but themselves.

Us Senator Ted Cruz Takes a Young Yale Wokester Woman to Task after She Calls Him a Racist – Just Not Quite the Way You Might Think.

Granite Grok - Mon, 2023-01-09 13:00 +0000

Far be it for me to speak in defense of Senator Cruz.  He does quite well on his own in this case:

Masterfully done – and skewers her a bit by skewering those that are the real racists (Democrats).

Well worthy your 9 minutes in listening to why does the Left demonize those that stand against them?

3 Ways Local Businesses Can Survive a Recession

Granite Grok - Mon, 2023-01-09 13:00 +0000

Small businesses are the blood of the New Hampshire economy. Nearly all of the state’s enterprises are businesses with fewer than 20 employees. Further, just under half of all workers are employed in small businesses.

Despite the sizable impact of small businesses on our state’s economic well-being, these companies remain vulnerable.

A recession is looming on the horizon, which could force hundreds of businesses to close their doors. New Hampshire’s small business owners can prepare themselves for the lean times ahead by following tried-and-true advice.

Double down on what works

During a recession, every dollar counts. As a small business owner, you will need to ensure that every expense brings you the maximum rate of return. There are many ways you can streamline your processes and get the most value.

The Pareto principle is a common business concept that suggests that 80% of sales are made by 20% of customers. If you’re not sure who your best customers are, start by reviewing your sales data. Take note of customers who meet the following criteria:

  • Tend to make large orders of high-margin products
  • Have low rates of return or complaints
  • Pay with cash or pay credit on time

Look for any demographic pattern in this customer segment. You may find that your most profitable customers are in the same age range, or have a similar level of household income.

Once you’ve identified your 20%, double down on the offers and services that attract them. You can create a targeted after-sales campaign to learn more about your most profitable customers.

Email or text-messaging-based campaigns are cost-effective methods of sending out special deals or requests for feedback. This can help you better understand and meet their needs. Then, you can create marketing and advertising plans that will attract even more of these types of customers.

On the other side of the coin, look into your least profitable customers. These are the ones that require significant discounts to purchase your products or buy small volumes of low-margin items.

The least profitable customers are also those whose needs eat into your bottom line. This includes customers who routinely require excessive customer support or request refunds.

Shifting your focus to your most profitable customers will often create disincentives for your least profitable customers. This is because the two groups tend to have different priorities when it comes to price sensitivity versus quality.

Shore up cash reserves

Cash is always king, but this especially holds true during a recession. Many small businesses flounder during economic downturns due to poor cash flow. Fewer sales often mean less cash on hand to cover overhead expenses.

Some businesses may choose to fill the gap with a low-interest business loan, but this solution isn’t ideal for every situation. If the margins get too thin, you may risk having to close your doors.

You can buffer your business from the effects of a recession by building a liquid emergency fund for your business. While the rule of thumb is to save the equivalent of at least 3 months of expenses, the actual number will depend on your business.

Building a cash reserve will require you to reduce some of your expenses. Take a close look at your unnecessary expenses from the past 6 months and see if you can make any cuts without compromising quality.

For example, you can reduce some of the inventory of your least-selling or lowest-margin products. You can also shop around for new vendors or services to find a better offer.

Tracking your cash is key to managing your reserves. Contracting with a provider of cash flow forecasting services can save you more money in the long run.

Invest in your business

When cash is tight, investing may seem like a bad decision. However, recessions are the ideal time for spending money in ways that will grow your business or improve your bottom line. For example, many businesses use downtime to make important repairs that would otherwise drive away lucrative foot traffic.

You can also take advantage of this slow period by investing in professional development. Consider enrolling yourself or your staff in a training course that would raise your business profile. Slowdowns are also an ideal time to implement disruptive changes, such as upgrading IT infrastructure or installing a new point-of-sales system.

Rep Lauren Boebert On Week One Accomplishments in Congress and “What’s Embarassing”

Granite Grok - Mon, 2023-01-09 11:30 +0000

Lauren Boebert issued a statement on what she called ‘Historic Victories House Conservatives secured‘ by holding out support for Kevin McCarthy as Speaker.

You can read it all below, but this is my favorite part.

“I want to close by responding to one criticism that has been cast on what took place this week. Joe Biden said this has been embarrassing for Republicans. How sad is it that us governing as the founders intended looks embarrassing to Democrats? It should look like the norm. I’ll tell you what’s embarrassing. 40-year high inflation is embarrassing. 5 million illegals crossing our southern border is embarrassing. Surrendering to ISIS and fleeing Afghanistan is embarrassing. Having a president that can’t finish his sentences is embarrassing.”

Boom!

Traffic in the 6 New England States – What You Should Know (and how to protect yourself)

Granite Grok - Mon, 2023-01-09 10:00 +0000

With six New England states full of picturesque scenery, winding roads, and summer vacation spots, it’s no wonder traffic can get a bit hectic. Unfortunately, the increase in cars on the road has led to increased traffic accidents.

Today, dangerous driving habits, like distracted driving and speeding, are causing higher rates of accidents and fatalities.

If you’re planning on taking a trip through the New England states or are just navigating your daily commute, it’s important to understand how to protect yourself while on the roads. This article looks into the realities of traffic in the six New England states – from top dangers and trends to tips for staying safe – so you know what to expect when hitting the roads.

Unique Traffic Conditions in New Hampshire

As we all know, New Hampshire is notorious for its winter weather, and as a result, traffic can be a nightmare. Icy roads and snowstorms can lead to accidents, delays, and even road closures. That’s why it’s important to know what to expect and make preparations for winter driving.

Here are some tips for dealing with traffic right here in New Hampshire:

  • Plan your route ahead of time and allow extra time for travel.
  • Check the latest road conditions before setting out.
  • Drive slowly and carefully, and be prepared for sudden changes in weather or road conditions.
  • Leave plenty of space between your vehicle and the one in front of you.
  • Use your headlights, even during the day, to improve your visibility.
  • Don’t follow other vehicles too closely.
  • Be extra cautious around plow trucks and snow removal equipment.

What to Know About Traffic in Connecticut

In Connecticut, as with the rest of the New England states, traffic can be a real challenge. The roads are often crowded, and the weather can be unpredictable. This can make it difficult to get around and even more difficult to stay safe.

Considering Connecticut highways are some of the most congested and busiest in the nation, you might want to have a car accident attorney in Connecticut on your side when the road takes a wrong turn.  For instance, when you’re driving that hair-raising stretch on Interstate 95 between exits 44 and 46, you’ll be glad you have the protection of an attorney because this and other roads in Connecticut are rife with potential hazards.

Traffic in Maine

In Maine, traffic can be a major problem during winter months. Icy roads and heavy snowfall can make driving conditions very dangerous. If you must travel during these months, be sure to take extra precautions and allow yourself plenty of time to reach your destination safely.

Winter weather isn’t the only time when traffic can be an issue in Maine. Construction season is also a busy time on the roads. Be sure to plan your travels accordingly and check for any construction or road closures before you head out.

Car Traffic in Vermont

Vermont is one of the most rural states in the country, and as such, car traffic is generally light. However, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t any hazards on the road. In fact, because Vermont is so rural, it can be easy to become complacent behind the wheel and not pay attention to your surroundings.

Here are a few things to keep in mind when driving in Vermont:

  • Be aware of deer crossings. Because Vermont is mostly forested, there are a lot of deer that live in the state.
  • Watch out for moose. While they aren’t as common as deer, moose are still present in Vermont and can pose a serious threat to motorists if hit.
  • Beware of black ice. Black ice is especially common on back roads and bridges where snow and ice melt during the day and then refreeze overnight.

Driving Conditions and Traffic in Rhode Island

Whether you’re a local or just visiting, you should be aware of the traffic conditions and driving laws in Rhode Island. With its dense population and limited highway space, Rhode Island has some of the worst traffic congestion in the country. The average commute time is over half an hour, and it’s not uncommon for drivers to spend an hour or more stuck in traffic.

There are a few things you can do to make your commute easier and safer. First, familiarize yourself with the state’s traffic laws. Rhode Island has strict enforcement of speed limits and seatbelt laws. If you’re caught speeding or driving without a seatbelt, you’ll be facing hefty fines. Second, plan your route ahead of time to avoid any construction or accidents that might cause delays. And finally, give yourself plenty of time to get where you’re going – there’s no need to rush and risk getting into an accident.

What is Traffic Like in Massachusetts?

When it comes to traffic, Massachusetts is no different than any other state in the New England region. There are a few things that drivers should be aware of, though, before getting behind the wheel.

For starters, MassDOT (the state’s transportation agency) reports that there are an average of 439,000 vehicles on the road each day. That number swells to about 500,000+ during the peak summer travel months.

With all those cars on the road, it’s no surprise that traffic can be a bit congested at times. The good news is that there are a number of ways to avoid or minimize gridlock.

One is to use the state’s 511 Traveler Information System, which provides real-time updates on traffic conditions and incidents. The system also offers alternate route suggestions to help drivers avoid delays. Another option is to take advantage of the state’s many public transportation options.

Conclusion

While there are a lot of different factors that come into play when it comes to traffic in the six New England states, we hope this article has given you a better understanding of what you should expect. If you plan on taking a trip through any one or multiple of these six states, make sure to take extra precautions and be aware of your surroundings at all times!
