If Burlington Thinks It Voted for Change, It is In for an Unpleasant Surprise!

Granite Grok - Sat, 2024-04-06 16:00 +0000

Retiring Burlington, Vermont, Mayor Miro Weinberger is, by all sane accounts, left-wing, as was his anointed replacement Joan Shannon; in anywhere but Burlington, they are far-left Democrats. So when the city elected a “progressive” last week, well, guess what?

If you think you voted for change, you are in for a surprise. Progressive Party winner Emma Mulvaney-Stanak is basically a Marxist, with the Progressive Party carrying the social banner to the left of the likes of Weinberger and Shannon. What does that look like on the campaign trail? After years of denying Burlington had a growing issue with crime, the ‘Progressives’ ran on addressing the growing problem of crime. Related: Change in Burlington: Replace Male Marxist Mayor with Female Marxist Mayor

Burlington’s crime problem is the direct result of left-wing political priorities shared by everyone who ran for mayor. Weinberger (nor the city council) know how to fix it because their party priorities create more crime and chaos. It is beyond their ability to repair. Shannon is no different. Mulvaney-Stanak will likely pour accelerant on the fire that is this problem.

Crime in Burlington is bad. Mulvaney-Stanak, who likely won partly as a result of the illegal gang vote (non-citizens can vote in municipal elections and her opponent’s “failure to acknowledge Israel’s unpopular invasion of Gaza”), is less equipped to address it than Weinberger or Shannon and that’s not saying much.

Hint: providing safe spaces to shoot up (drugs) will not stop the immigrant gangs from shooting up Burlington.

You need more cops, but no one with the intellectual agility to be on can think for a moment that the progressive mayor or its more “conservative Democrat/Progressive City Council” will defend them the next time a viral video drops that allows for virtue signaling on a national level. The cops will be under the bus faster than you can say. Where’s the next microphone to opine about systemic racism in a system run by Democrats and progressives for decades (Bernie Sanders was elected Mayor of Burlington in 1982).

The only way Emma Mulvaney-Stanak will ever get crime under control is to do what actual socialists do in communist countries, but as far as Vermont has fallen, even they haven’t gone that far. This means things can only get worse with one possible exception. The crime problem the progressives ignored before they decided they could use it to win elected office, blaming it on slightly less socialist Democrats, might disappear again. Not the crime, just any actual acknowledgement of it or data showing the truth.

Property and violent crime will continue to grow. They just won’t talk about it. And that is a change you can believe in.

Our Libraries Queer Children

Granite Grok - Sat, 2024-04-06 14:00 +0000

Publisher’s Weekly praises “Grandad’s Pride,” a children’s book for ages 4-8, available at local libraries, for how its “Bustling, bright-hued images with a rainbow motif” portrays various “gender expressions,” including men in bondage costumes with codpieces and a bearded woman with mastectomy scars.

Related: Nashua Library Doubles Down on Promoting Bondage to Kids

Even more troubling is an illustration featuring pink heart-shaped Lolita sunglasses, an allusion to the 1962 film about a man’s sexual relationship with his 14-year-old stepdaughter. Prominently displayed near the Lolita sunglasses is a Polaroid camera and a MAP, spelled out in capital letters, which happens to stand for “Minor Attracted Persons,” a euphemism for pedophiles.

Liberals greet requests to remove these books from the children’s section with cries of censorship. They claim that people who object to sexually explicit books are targeting LGBTQ+ individuals.

But there are no gay, queer, or transgender children, just girls and boys. By suggesting children can be born in the wrong bodies, libraries put children on the path to experimental medical treatments that will leave them permanently damaged. “Queer” is a nebulous word that justifies exposing children to any sexual behavior, including adult fetishes.

Libraries no longer serve patrons by choosing materials that reflect community interests and values. Instead, they bias their selection process to push their radical agenda. Censorship is built into their system. Since libraries choose books based on reviews from publications that align with their ideology, conservative books are unlikely to make the cut.

How did we get here? A 2017 American Library Journal article questions whether “it is still good enough to provide equal access, or if it is time to pursue an active equitable access that focuses on empowering the less powerful and amplifying the voices of the unheard.”

“Queering the library” is a top priority of American Library Association (ALA) President Emily Drabinski, who describes herself as  “a Marxist lesbian.” She’s also a proponent of queer theory. Like critical race theory, queer theory isn’t really a theory, but a political ideology that seeks to change power structures by promoting transgender and queer identities.

Our libraries assume that some children are born gay, transgender, and queer, and it’s their job to help girls and boys discover and explore their innate gender identities through drag queen story hours and books. For example, in “Red: A Crayon’s Story,” written for children ages 4-8  “A blue crayon is mistakenly labeled as red, and becomes much happier once he can be his true blue self.”

I’ve spoken to my local library trustees about the story “Jack, Not Jackie,” where a girl is relabeled as a boy and given a new name and pronouns because she hates frilly pink dresses, plays superhero, and splashes in the mud. It’s cruel to tell children that there’s a right way and a wrong way to be a girl or a boy.

In a recent Union Leader op-ed NH Democrat Reps Nicholas Germana, David Paige, and Angela Brennan assured us that none of the challenged books qualify as pornography or “remotely fit well-established definitions of obscenity.” But if illustrations depicting oral sex and passages about anal sex don’t qualify as pornography, then what does? This isn’t a slippery slope, it’s a free-fall.

There must be no limit to what little children should be exposed to, according to the ALA’s policy statement “Access to Library Resources and Services for Minors.” The ALA “opposes all attempts to restrict access to library services, materials, and facilities based on the age of library users. The policy insists that:

Children and young adults unquestionably possess First Amendment rights, including the right to receive information through the library in print, sound, imagery data, and social media.

Libraries won’t compromise with concerned parents, whom Drabinski describes as an “angry white mob.” The ALA’s book-challenge process is stacked. The guidelines state that the materials can’t be judged based on just one part, such as an explicit passage or illustration, and instruct the trustees to consider reviews from ALA-approved journals.

Things could get worse. New Hampshire House Bill 1311 would make it a crime to remove materials that promote sexual fetishes and gender ideology from school libraries, no matter how false or explicit.

Opposing such bills is important but inadequate. States and municipalities should follow the leads of Alabama, Wyoming, Missouri, Texas, and Florida, sever ties with the ALA, and join the World Library Association. Taxpayers should defund their libraries.

For those of us in Democrat-controlled cities, the best we can do is keep speaking up. Although the librarians and trustees won’t hear us, they deserve to be embarrassed. Many moms and dads will get the message and avoid an institution that confuses and indoctrinates children and sets them on the path to irreversible medical harm.

New Study Confirms that If You Leave Gender Confused Kids Alone … They Grow Out of It

Granite Grok - Sat, 2024-04-06 12:00 +0000

If the Trans-Cult didn’t have bad luck this year, it’d have no luck at all. Those who profit financially or ideologically from confusing young kids and getting them on hormone blockers as soon as possible keep getting kicked in the rhetorical head.

From the UK to France, the WPATH Files to Pediatrician Organizations, 2024 has been rough for the Trans-Cult, and the Netherlands just piled on.

The majority of gender-confused children grow out of that feeling by the time they are fully grown adults, according to a long-term study.

Researchers in the Netherlands tracked more than 2,700 children from age 11 to their mid-twenties, asking them every three years of feelings about their gender. But by age 25, just one-in-25 (4 percent) said they ‘often’ or ‘sometimes’ were discontent with their gender.

The researchers concluded: ‘The results of the current study might help adolescents to realize that it is normal to have some doubts about one’s identity and one’s gender identity during this age period and that this is also relatively common.’

It has been known for a very long time that just like dinosaurs or space, kids who wondered a bit about their sexuality before they understood anything about it grew out of it. It was a phase. It is a curious “finding yourself” moment that, for a super-majority of children, fades away, after which they feel both comfortable, safe, and happy in their “birth” bodies.

The gender cult ignored that, but this new research is a problem for anyone pushing hormone blockers on minors. They are dangerous, can lead to cancer, and are deadly. But they are the prerequisite to genital mutilation surgery, a rising flow of cash advocates will not want to abandon. But if most kids grow out of it, if ust leave them alone, what now?

Thanks to these Netherlands researchers, the question now is: should doctors be required to inform parents of potentially transgender kids about this study, especially when talking about invasive interventions like puberty blockers and surgeries?

I’m picturing a construction paper display on a class or hallway bulletin board. It’s got colors, pictures, data, and bits of research; wondering about gender is normal, and almost everyone grows out of it. You don’t need to take (hormone) drugs for the rest of your life or suffer the discomfort of surgery you will very likely later regret. Maybe a few quotes from doctors about how there’s no proof the treatments help and the risks like cancer or death.

No, we won’t be seeing that, but how about this? Legislators, school boards, parents, and others can ask why states like New Hampshire prohibit therapists and other kids look to for advice from daring to suggest they will gro out of it. It’s not conversion therapy. It’s… therapy. Doctors, therapists, counselors, and even teachers should be required not just to tell parents that their kids are expressing some gender dysphoria but that, based on “new” research, if they are supportive, they may (will probably) grow out of it.

Do you know what else would help? Stop with the 24/7/365 gender-cult recruitment dogma. If most kids grow out of it, the constant attention it gets is doing more harm than good, assuming this is actually about mental health and healthy kids.

Given all the revelations in recent months, more Lawsuits seem likely.

He’s Back … Will GOP Voters Hand An Executive Council Seat To The Democrats?

Granite Grok - Sat, 2024-04-06 10:00 +0000

Ted Gatsas had barely turned his horse and begun to ride off into the sunset when … LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME! EVERYBODY LOOK AT ME!!! perpetual candidate and perpetual general-election loser Robert Burns politi-bombed the scene. The question now becomes will GOP voters in Gatsas’ Executive Council District hand the seat to the Democrats by nominating the clearly unelectable Burns.

The NHGOP is NOT going to win elections by nominating the same candidates who have been rejected by the voters over and over and over again. This is NOT Joe Kenney’s District One. This is the Executive Council District that repeatedly elected Chris Pappas (2013 – 2019).

So the choice, bitter-clingers, is whether you want to win the general election, which requires nominating a new candidate … one who the voters have NOT repeatedly rejected… or whether you want to be represented by a Democrat.

And, dear bitter-clingers, I am NOT telling you what to do. I’m just telling you the consequences. Do what you wish. Believe what you wish.

Night Cap: The Eclipse of Common Sense

Granite Grok - Sat, 2024-04-06 02:00 +0000

A few days from now, beheaded mythical creatures, absent a body, will swallow the Sun only to have it reappear shortly after. Roughly three minutes, give or take.

In some ancient cultures, a dragon (puma, bear, or wolf) swallows the Sun, relenting only after the people whose myth it is perform a preordained rite or ritual.

One source cited a Choctaw legend in which a black squirrel (Funi Lusa) gnaws on the Sun.

And it is not just in what passes for modern America that you are told not to look directly at the Sun. Navajo elders have long advised against it. Instead, put a hole in a piece of paper or a paper plate and look at the dot of light it projects onto another surface to watch the moon’s shadow advance over good old Sol (until it is actually safe to look up at the eclipse). Okay, that was my 6th grade teacher, Mrs. Hoag.

These stories exist from every culture (dragons and bears, not paper plates), and like most mythology, they share similar threads tied to common beliefs that manifest in different forms. People, wherever they may be, whatever environmental, social, or other factors, are still people. But my favorite solar eclipse lore is less mythological and more practical. It is attributed to Transylvania, in which the angry Sun turns away and covers herself with darkness in response to men’s bad behavior.

Congress is full of them, including men in the general sense of mankind, which includes women’s bad behavior—their idolatry of the cause at the expense of common sense but with a common purpose: to centralize decision-making inside the 61.4 square miles of Washington, DC. A much smaller part of that, to be sure. An object, tiny compared to the heaving masses of a nation but capable of blocking out all of their light.

We must do something about that, you and I, and it is not a topic new to these pages. Changes must be made, and we can’t expect much from the heart of darkness 493 miles from Concord, New Hampshire (or whatever driving distance separates your state capital from Congress). The Federal government is powerless against the states if they are themselves not committed to their own sovereignty and protecting that of their people. That is why they exist.

We’ve had a saying around these parts for a while: Screw DC, Save New Hampshire. It sounds good, and while we have made small strides, Republicans continue to prove themselves lighter versions of Democrats instead of stalwart defenders of those who elevated them to state office. New Hampshire keeps taking federal money and then lying about obligations to their sugar DC daddy. They are whoring us out, and not just us but our children and grandchildren.

Not the national debt, though that is the voting rights issue of our time. Millions yet born slaved to a generation of spending that burdened them without a voice. Not that. I’m referring to the obligations created by state budgets filled with DC money backed by that federal debt. When the feds fail, and at this rate, they inevitably will, all that “free” money stops. If you’ve created a society in which promises cannot be kept unless you now tax the crap out of the locals, you were never all that low tax to begin with.

Will we shout until the Sun emerges from behind that dark object of deception so that the false vision is burned out by the rays of truth? I know it’s a bit heavy on the metaphor, but as candidates campaign for governor, we should consider asking how they plan to protect us from that disaster and if it has ever occurred to them.

And not just how we stop racing toward more dependency but how we claw some of our independence back.

Fetterman Can Become A Serious Leader

Granite Grok - Sat, 2024-04-06 00:00 +0000

Sometimes, heroes arise in the most unlikely manner. Who could have predicted that Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) would become the voice of reason in the Democrat ranks and show support for the Republican Immigration bill, HR-2, that has been locked in Chuck Schumer’s desk since it passed the House on May 13, 2023.

Though he is not ready to sign off on the totality of the House bill, he calls the bill a solid framework to achieve the secure border that Donald Trump gave to Joe Biden in 2021. Republicans need to work with Fetterman to grow support for HR-2 in the Senate, force Majority Leader Schumer to do his job, and put the bill on the floor for debate and a vote.

Conservatives were appalled in 2020 when the Democrat Party allowed stroke victim Fetterman to remain on the ballot against Republican candidate Dr. Oz. The voters of Pennsylvania chose Fetterman to represent them in the Senate, but they also re-elected Representative Anthony DeLuca, even though he had died a month before the election. We all thought that the Key State voters had lost their collective minds. To his credit, Fetterman has overcome the effects of his stroke and a lengthy battle with debilitating depression. Against all odds, Fetterman has become a voice of centrist reason in Congress.

Fetterman’s support for HR-2, which he qualified with some exceptions, drew praise from hardline Republican Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX). Todd Pergram of FOX News spoke to Roy, who said, “The new and improved Fetterman can wear whatever he wants, if he keeps talking like that… I’m glad to see him talking about ‘hey, there’s some provisions in HR 2 that would actually do the job.'” Roy’s praise referred to the longstanding criticism of Fetterman by Republicans over the Senator regularly wearing shorts and a hoodie.

Fetterman is a big man with a growing presence in Washington. The reason for that new popularity is the Senator is a counter to the Radical Left that has been loud and center stage for eight years. The WOKE Radical Left may finally be losing traction. Whether the Transgender issue or the support of Hamas and the Palestinians that pushed too far, there are signs the support is waning or ambivalence is setting in. Neither of these scenarios is good news for the Democrats.

Fetterman is on board with working with Republicans to secure the border. This thinking is at a time when bipartisan is a word that might be cut from most dictionaries. He also has been very vocal about removing corrupt Senator Bob Melendez, who is under investigation for the same laws that Joe Biden is guilty of violating. He is also an avid supporter of Israel and condemns the Radical Squad members for turning their backs on Israel. This is all excellent news for Republicans but alarming for Democrats. If members of Congress start moving back towards the center, Joe Biden will have a decision to make. Does he stick with the Left and roll the dice on the election, or does he grab onto that big man from Pennsylvania and get a free ride to the mainstream middle?

The Case for Nurse Terese (for Executive Council).

Granite Grok - Fri, 2024-04-05 22:00 +0000

Sometimes, I choose a title, and that’s how it’s published. Sometimes, management alters it at its discretion. Sometimes, I submit a piece and call it “untitled,” thus letting the editor finish the job for me. There are a variety of reasons and one of them has to do with the enjoyment of pretending I’m Howie Carr or Ed Mosca, but today’s literary inspiration is Victor Davis Hanson.

That’s why I’m calling this article “The Case for Nurse Terese,” so let’s get started, shall we?

The CASE

I’m not here to discuss the not-so-recently dropped criminal charges against her and her codefendants but the case for why she should be the one to replace retiring Executive Councilor Ted Gatsas, who made his announcement yesterday.  But first, I feel the urge to point out the similarity between the opening up of seats belonging to Annie Kuster and Ted Gatsas. Readers might ask why I would compare a Concord office to a federal office, one branch of government to another, or two elected officials from opposing parties, but the answer has to do with the 10 Water Street brass.

The removal of Annie Kuster was never on Chris Ager’s to-do list; hence his lack of interest in 50% of NH being properly served in Washington. You can read more in my recent article promoting support for early bird entrant Lily Tang Williams here and please donate if you haven’t done so already.  “And just like that,” with a picture of Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump, there was 10 Water Street interest in recruiting some primary congressional candidates after Annie announced her retirement last Wednesday.

Similar to General Bolduc and Lily, Terese has been planning her candidacy right along, though, without much glamorous fanfare.  She’s been an outspoken critic of Ted Gatsas and his need to be primaried.  She walked the walk in addition to talking the talk as she did, in fact, primary him in the last election and received a good chunk of the votes. I don’t have numbers, but anyone interested in them is encouraged to visit Sec. of State Scanlan’s office. She also ran her 2022 race with little to no resources (funds, name recognition, and perks that private citizens don’t have at their disposal). Consider 2022 a practice run for Terese.

Switching from Tom Hanks to Bill Murray, it’s like Groundhog Day all over again at 10 Water Street because there is a sudden interest in Ted Gatsas’ seat, and it includes some household names.  Filing time is two months from now, so anything could happen, and the playing field for the primary could get crowded.  In an effort to keep things short here, I won’t get into attacking other candidates at this time because there will be plenty of opportunities to do that in follow-up articles.

However, there’s one exception, but only if it’s even considered an attack, and that’s Ryan Terrell, and only because he didn’t waste any time throwing his hat in the ring.  I would even surmise that the seat wasn’t even on his radar and perhaps Chris Ager, Stepanek, or one of their henchmen recruited him. Anyone interested in verifying that is encouraged to do so and report back.

Ryan, who is presently the GOP vice chair, is formerly of Nashua. Living in Clock Tower at the time when Comrade Andru Volinsky called him a token and arranged for the blocking of his Board of Education nomination made him eligible to run for state rep in Nashua’s famous Ward 4.  Ryan received lots of big-name establishment endorsements, and locals (myself included) were rooting for him as he was fundraising and campaigning whether or not they voted in Ward 4.  Ward 1’s Tom Lanzara was the only decent Nashua rep candidate that made it across the finish line, but Ryan since got renominated and approved (presumably 4-1 with Warmington dissenting) to the original appointment.

Please email the EC secretary, Meagan Rose, if you care to look into that vote.

I didn’t see or hear much from Ryan in the months and years following his taking office, but in all fairness, I had left Facebook and wasn’t an education watchdog or activist regularly trying to make contact with him.  What I later learned, perhaps as recently as last year, is that Ryan moved from Nashua to Lee.  What I also learned during the Dover “school library lewdness crisis” is that the Board of Education has five districts.  Though I haven’t done my due diligence, it stands to reason that BoE districting is like that of the Executive Council, and Ryan has been, therefore, representing Nashua (aka Wheeler’s EC district in the BoE) from Lee(Gatsas’s EC district in the BoE).

Let it be known that I don’t know exactly when Ryan moved or how soon a notice of moving is required. Keep in mind that in other government bodies, such as the House, failure to report a move outside the district being elected to serve is a problem. Look up Troy Merner if you need an example.  If someone would like to do some RTK inquiries on voter registration, mail forwarding, or change of address with the Registry, the sharing of findings is strongly encouraged.

So, to say it another way, regarding these 2 candidates for Ted Gatsas’s seat, how long has Ryan had to familiarize himself with the district he wants to represent? Terese has been a long-time Loudon resident and the length of Ryan’s residency in Lee matters. If he’s lived there long enough to be eligible for office there, then why is he still representing Nashua in the BoE?

I recognize that I took a real side trip in my discussion of Ryan and I welcome his comments in the public square, but let’s get back to Terese because this article is supposed to be about HER candidacy.

Terese’s compass always points to doing the next right thing. She has a passion for helping “kids in the system.” Ask her about The Forgotten Ministry. I am NOT a Bible scholar by any stretch of the imagination, but I am certain that she will credit God for her desire to answer the call to serve others.  Before becoming a nurse, she had a resume rich in project management and has been a regular attendee at EC meetings once charges against her were dropped.

Did you know that 20 months of tormenting lawfare had her bail conditions like that of a restraining order against a violent criminal? Terese is so committed to keeping an eye on the EC that pending charges against her were no deterrent from supervising Ted Gatsas. Needless to say, he works for her, and she is presently his boss. Now it’s her turn to work for him (and Ryan Terrell, as well as the rest of EC District 4).

Did Mass General Brigham Hospital Mean to Imply That a Lot of Black People Use Drugs

Granite Grok - Fri, 2024-04-05 20:00 +0000

In a world where the overpaid diversity officers of large outfits drive policy based on some perception of social justice, it’s easy to trip over both left feet. Take Mass General Brigham Hospital. They just announced that they will no longer “report babies who are born with drugs in their system to child welfare.”

Because it is not in the welfare interests of the child? Of course not. It is because it “disproportionately affects Black people.”

It sounds to me like Mass Brigham just implied that more black people abuse drugs. Where’s the social justice in that?

Racists.

Bananas: Democrats Suddenly Defend the Bible

Granite Grok - Fri, 2024-04-05 18:00 +0000

In his latest 4-D chess move the former CEO of America, Donald Trump, has managed to get Democrats to defend the Bible.  Despite years and decades of mocking the most Holy Book while flat out defying its clear commandments, the Democrat party had a sudden change of heart upon hearing the King of the Solarverse, Donald Trump, is selling them for the economy-adjusted price of just $60.

Among those criticizing the Potent Patriarch are such religiously devout secularists as Raphael Warnock (Sen. – GA).

“The Bible does not need Donald Trump’s endorsement,” Warnock, the pastor of Atlanta’s historic Ebenezer Baptist church, said to CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday.  Speaking on Transgender Visibility Day (formerly Easter), one of the Democrat Party’s holiest celebrations next to the other 117 sexidays, Warnock added: “It’s a risky bet because the folks who buy those Bibles might actually open them up, where it says things like thou shalt not lie, thou shalt not bear false witness, where it warns about wolves dressed up in sheep’s clothing.”   However Warnock might heed his own warnings.  As the Bible says, those who wear glasses around the house should not get stoned, or some such proverbial truthiness.  The never sheepish Warnock apparently was unclear on the Bible’s injunction for “husbands (to) love your wives”(Ephesians 5:25) as he deliberately ran over his wife’s foot following an argument about a woman’s right to choose to collect delinquent child-support payments.

Not to be outdone the Biden Administration declared the holiest day in Christendom will now be recognized as Transgender Visibility Day.  Former Vice President Joe Biden is a man known for his devout Catholic piety.  From swimming in his garden of Eden suit in front of female Secret Service agents to his unutterable reverence for “you know the Thing”, Joe Biden is practically a choir boy among men.  Where the Lord was known to say “keep not the little children from me” (Matt 19:14) Joe Biden is a man after God’s own heart, and His small children, laying his hands on them like a faith healer during an end-of-the-month fundraiser. Like Trump he is also fairly squeamish when it comes to picking a favorite Bible verse but prefers to keep his faith private.  One shining example of his privacy and extreme humility is this article about how humble he is with pictures and videos so everyone can see for themselves.  “It’s like that one passage where Jesus talks about being rewarded for PDA’s to God or something like that?  He’s so righteous.  He’s so righteous he’s lefteous!” says long time donor Thomas Foolery.

Accusations of Trump being a false prophet were also levied by former congressmen and false Republican Adam Kinzinger who took to X to warn the easily fleeced public:

“The fact that Donald is now selling Bibles is proof that he’s a false prophet for profit. Pastors beware: you will be held to account for how you led your people. Trump is an abomination to God and our country”

From his Truth Social platform the President of Bibles shot back:

“LITTLE ADAM KINZINGER WOULDN’T KNOW A PROFIT IF HE HAD NANCY PELOSI’S FINANCIAL ADVISOR!  WHAT A LOSER THAT GUY IS!  HE’S SO DUMB HE PROBABLY THINKS THE BOOK OF JOB IS ABOUT EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES!  TOTAL RINO!”

He then shared his most recent bank statement that showed a deposit for just north of $3 billion dollars thanks to his IPO earnings from Truth Social before lobbing one final holy hand-grenade of a tweet:

“CHRIST IS KING!”

Adam wept.

The KGB then apparently kidnaped and killed a relative of an unnamed leader of the Shias’ Hezbollah (Party of God) group, a radical, pro-Iranian group that has been suspected of various terrorist activities against Western targets in Lebanon.

Parts of the man’s body, the paper said, were then sent to the Hezbollah leader with a warning that he would lose other relatives in a similar fashion if the three remaining Soviet diplomats were not immediately released. They were quickly freed.

The newspaper quoted “observers in Jerusalem” as saying: “This is the way the Soviets operate. They do things–they don’t talk. And this is the language Hezbollah understands.”

The Unethical Tactics of Attorney Hilliard and Attorney Bolton to Impede a Fair Trial

Granite Grok - Fri, 2024-04-05 14:00 +0000

I recently filed two Attorney Discipline Office complaints, one against Attorney Hilliard and another against Attorney Bolton for failing to provide me with a properly and equitably marked exhibit book for a December 2023 Trial in which I am seeking records on the downtown barriers and the Nashua Performing Arts Center.

The City has hired high-powered outside counsel to defeat me in this request for public information. The City has retained McLean Middleton to represent two shell corporations established by the City to funnel public money into a private corporation for the Art Center and Attorney Russ Hilliard to represent the interests of the City. Attorney Bolton, Attorney Leonard, and now newly hired Attorney Barnes are also on the case. There have been five city attorneys in this case, and now, six against me, while I have no legal representation. To date, the City has spent almost $400,000 on this case. This City has many records to hide on the Nashua Arts Center, as it appears the City misused and committed fraudulent acts with public money.

The first three days of the Trial were in December, and the rules for submitting evidence required that the plaintiff mark the exhibits with numbers and the defendants mark their exhibits with letters. This rule is designed to clarify who produced what exhibits.

At the trial management conference, the City’s books were not marked properly, and the Judge ordered the City to redo their books to comply with Court rules. How could attorneys collectively with over 150 years of experience not properly mark exhibit books?

When Ortolano received her exhibit book, which the Court ordered redone, it did not contain the index and the letter markings to identify each exhibit. The City gave all of the parties at the defense table, the Judge, and the court stenographer books that were organized with a letter identifier for each exhibit. However, my book was double-sided printed and numerically Bates-stamped with no alphabetized page separators.

The City deliberately produced this book in this format to make it more cumbersome for me to reference the exhibits during the Trial. I would have to flip between pages to determine whether the exhibit I referred to was A, B, or C. The City deliberately took the time to create a “unique” book for me.

When the December Trial began, I put this issue before Judge Temple and noted my concern that the City did not properly mark my exhibit book. I carried in an example of a city exhibit book from a past trial and showed the Judge that, in the past, the City did comply with the Court’s rule for marking exhibits. Judge Temple remained silent on the issue, but during the Trial, he offered me the use of the Court’s book to more easily reference the exhibits I wanted to present to my witnesses and the Court. I refused to accept the City’s improperly marked exhibits. This resulted in one full day of the Trial being wasted on a page-by-page review and acceptance of the City’s exhibits.

These underhanded and dirty tricks done by high-powered yet dishonorable attorneys have no place in the courtroom. But in reality, they do when a judge is in the pocket of a city. Judge Temple has not been impartial or given me the expedited fair Trial I was to be afforded by the Constitution and due process rules. The tactics of the Court run up the cost and prevent citizens from affording representation. I have worked hard to open records in Nashua while going up against the single most corrupt enterprise in the State of New Hampshire—the New Hampshire Judicial system.

Vermont’s Dumb (and Unconstitutional) Bill to Fine Big Oil for “Emissions”

Granite Grok - Fri, 2024-04-05 12:00 +0000

The confidence artists doing business as Vermont’s Democratic majority legislature have crafted a bill it thinks will make Big Oil pay for environmental damage which it claims is the result of years of detrimental emissions.

It’s a polluter-pays model affecting companies engaged in the trade or business of extracting fossil fuel or refining crude oil attributable to more than 1 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions during the time period. The funds could be used by the state for such things as upgrading stormwater drainage systems; upgrading roads, bridges and railroads; relocating, elevating or retrofitting sewage treatment plants and making energy efficient weatherization upgrades to public and private buildings.

I’m no lawyer, but I don’t think this will work. It is ex post facto and, therefore, unconstitutional. The actual emissions are the result of Vermonters (and everyone else, including the government and its lawyers) choosing to pay for and use fossil fuels for their own productivity, comfort, and enjoyment.

I’d go so far as to suggest that there is evidence the government (in some cases) demanded – under some earlier iteration of what we today call social justice – that utility companies ensure customers can use their products (electricity, gas, oil) to (in their current view) pollute the planet.

Isn’t that a little bit like suing Jack Daniels because a bartender didn’t take an “overserved” customer’s keys at the State House office party in 1972?

Under the legislation, the Vermont state treasurer, in consultation with the Agency of Natural Resources, would provide a report by Jan. 15, 2026, on the total cost to Vermonters and the state from the emission of greenhouse gases from Jan. 1, 1995, to Dec. 31, 2024.

The assessment would look at the (sp) affects on public health, natural resources, agriculture, economic development, housing and other areas.

Did Vermont not regulate equipment to burn fossil fuels or license its installers? Were there state inspections or fees to affirm and abet the proper burning of fossil fuels, or – and this is a fun one – didn’t the state make bank on the practice, thereby approving it? And if the government is so much smarter than anyone else, why didn’t they know better? How is this the energy companies’ fault and not the regulators and politicians in government who allowed it?

And if extraction and processing justify a fine for enviro-malfeasance leading to a global state of weather-related harm, shouldn’t Vermont fine China for not just burning dirty coal but all of its environmentally catastrophic Rare Earth Metal and mineral Mining in Southeast Asia and Africa, to replace fossil fuels. India, Africa, the oil emirates, Iran, and Russia too.

Why wait another 100 years? We know the mining for metals needed to make “green” energy is as bad or worse for the environment as are the end-of-life leftovers from wind, solar, and EVs.

Vermont’s Kobayashi Maru

The Kobayashi Maru was an infamous no-win scenario test for command-track cadets at Starfleet Academy in the Star Trek series. It measures character under pressure, and this is just a guess, but Vermont’s Democratic Legislature is not only going to fail theirs but look bad doing it.

If you were the type to take advice (and you are not), I’d avoid specifically making claims about the 2023 flooding. Vermont gets a rainwater beatdown every ten to twenty years, going back more than a century. As in, before you invented the emissions scam and long before CO2—your alleged evidence—was anywhere near a level you currently associate with the damage for which you seek restitution. Related: Vermont Warns Residents About Flood-Related Scams, Fails to Mention Its Own Fraud

The Environmental lawyers seem to think they’ll win, and they will. Vermont will spend a fortune paying them to defend this, possibly up to the US Supreme Court, where their odds are almost nil they win—assuming it gets that far. This sort of lawsuit—and Vermont will get sued—will bring forth all manner of discovery, which—despite their tunnel-vision confidence in their serial fraud—is not in their favor.

If emissions are harming people, it can’t just be in Vermont. This means you need to explain not only the frequency of similar events long before modern-era emissions but also any absence of similar effects in places elsewhere on Planet Earth. Good luck, but why not just tell the truth? This is about your incompetent stewardship of the people and their hard-earned dollars.

Vermont’s legislative con artists are only interested in finding a way to bilk someone else to pay for things they want, and they’ve so overtaxed their own citizens that asking for more might start a revolt.

Democrats say, “Read My Lips: Yes! New taxes!” Republicans say, GET REAL!

Granite Grok - Fri, 2024-04-05 10:00 +0000

Literally, and I quote, on the floor of the House following a vote to make Vermont the state with the highest corporate taxes in the nation, Progressive Democrat Brian Cina of Burlington took up the microphone and told Vermonters, “Read my lips: Yes! New taxes!” Cina’s — what should we call it?

Attitude?… Promise?… Threat? — is characteristic of the Dem/Prog supermajority under the Golden Dome. He/they mean it!

It’s not just the corporate tax they’re jacking up; it’s the 20 percent property tax increase they just slammed us with, the new $100 million payroll tax that kicks in in July, the 20 percent hike in DMV fees that started in January, the 70 cent per gallon home heating carbon tax that’s coming after 2025, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. They’re also looking at sales tax increases and/or expansions, a tax on internet software, a sweetened beverage tax, a Clean Transportation carbon tax on gas and diesel to go along with the Clean Heat carbon tax, the Renewable Energy Standard bill that just passed the House will add as much as a billion to our electric bills, an income tax surcharge that would give Vermont one of the highest marginal income tax rates in the country while kicking in at one of the lowest income thresholds.

This is not a new phenomenon. As Republican Representative Scott Beck (R-St. Johnsbury) of the Ways & Means Committee noted, “In the last ten years, personal income tax receipts in the state of Vermont have grown 54%, sales tax receipts have increased by 65%, and property taxes have increased by 53%. Corporate income tax has nearly tripled in the last ten years. And yet, we’re being told we don’t have enough money.”

All of this is, of course, on top of inflationary impacts on household budgets: rising costs for food, energy, labor, vehicles, etc. that are also making it harder for folks to make ends meet.

So, what do Vermont Republicans have to say to these greedy, tax-happy, endless spenders of other people’s money on ideological boondoggles? GET REAL!

A couple of weeks ago the VTGOP dropped an op-ed outlining what the GET REAL agenda for a hypothetical Republican majority would be:

G.E.T.  R.E.A.L. is a solemn promise and a positive path forward for our state by Vermont Republicans focused on improving the quality of life of our people. It is a prescription of policy proposals that includes: G.lobal Warming Solutions Act reform, recalibrating the law to reflect realistic and affordable goals; E.ducation reform, refocusing our schools’ mission back to excellence in core subjects; T.ransportation and infrastructure with a priority for fixing our roads; R.egulatory reform to lower the cost of housing; E.nvironmental protection initiatives focused on protecting and preserving our natural resources and landscapes; A.ffordability and tax reform to lower costs for working Vermonters; and restoring L.aw and order in our communities.

Yesterday they dropped another essay explaining in more detail what the “G” item in GET REAL would entail. (If you missed it elsewhere, you can read the full piece HERE.) I am looking forward to the rest of the series as it unfolds!

So far, I’d say this is a terrific, common-sense approach to connecting with Vermont voters. “GET REAL” perfectly encapsulates the feeling most of us get when the Democrats put forward one of their whakadoodle, multi-billion-dollar ideological schemes that is never going to work but will cost us massively in higher taxes and negative economic impact. (Remember Single Payer Healthcare? That was a fun waste of time and money! On to the Global Warming Solutions Act….)

GET REAL is also a meaningful call to action and the need to get serious about solving real problems facing real Vermonters in everyday life. We do, indeed, need to GET REAL about what needs to be done in these policy areas to garner results and who we need to elect in order to make that progress. Clearly, it’s not Democrats and Progressives.

Moreover, Vermonters seem ready to hear this message and respond to it. For example, at his most recent press conference, Phil Scott introduced Amanda Marie Shangraw, a third generation Vermonter and small businessperson. Her full remarks are riveting, and do watch the video below, but I’ll just share this summary clip:

I’m here today because I voted for a large majority of you, and I’m let down and hurting, and I’m defeated just like thousands of other Vermonters and small business owners…. I want to work and continue to create jobs and offer housing, and be a part of the solution, not the problem, but… Small businesses all around our state are folding, and I fear we might be next. These taxes are killing us. Please. Stop taxing the middle class, or in a year the middle-class won’t exist.

In other words, lawmakers, GET REAL!!! Get real about what normal people can realistically afford, what state government can realistically accomplish (and what it can’t), and the serious harm your policies are really doing to the rank-and-file citizens who are really the ones who make our state work.

But Republicans need to GET REAL about a few things too – and I’m talking to Republican voters, not just the party officials and activists. You can’t throw the bums out if no one steps up to replace them. You need field good, solid candidates for office running on the GET REAL message. A lot of them! And they need funding and volunteers to run those campaigns. Getting real takes real work. Let’s do it!

Night Cap: Woodpeckers, Pine Cones, and Morning ‘Duty’

Granite Grok - Fri, 2024-04-05 02:00 +0000

Living in rural New Hampshire, even where the flatlanders roam, is very different from most urban settings. Most of America is like that, truly, so I’m not speaking to a fringe audience. But this is a group who, if not familiar with city living, has (hopefully) forgotten how different it is. For example, I live on a paltry 2.4 acres, give or take.

There are lots of trees (though fewer than when we bought the property). We have a yard big enough that I don’t look forward to mowing it and a keen understanding on a small scale of what happens when you don’t keep the jungle at bay.

What does that mean?

I had an acquaintance who claims to have spent some time in the Amazon (South America, not Seattle). They cleared a perimeter around their location away from a fence that didn’t stay that way for long if you didn’t keep it up. Daily, weekly, monthly, someone was clearing that land again and again, or the jungle would take it back. If you have any land at all, you’ll be familiar with the problem. The planet is eager to reclaim any swath of land you’ve cleared, no matter the reason and that’s something with which city-dwellers are unfamiliar.

Whacky concrete jungle environmentalists don’t get it either. Husbanding nature is a battle we are doomed to lose, and we could all save a lot of time and money if the focus were kept on specific incidents of industrial harm. All the money directed to fake global warming could roll back debt, pay reparations, help with “food insecurity,” and help house homeless vets (I’m not advocating reparations, by the way). Instead, we waste trillions on junk science – but I digress (hey, it’s a political blog, yes?).

If you don’t mow it (clear it, clip it, weed it), you are giving it back. Nature will begin to reclaim it immediately and take it over if you let her. Animals will move in, and in a few year’s time, that spot of land will be a copse, then woods, then forest.

My patch of nature is comprised of a decent mix of species. Oak, Maple, Chestnut, Sassafrass, Hemlock, Juniper, Beech, Birch, Poplar, and a few varieties of pine – White and Red. We’ve got plenty of Mountain Laurel, Wild Blueberry, Raspberries, and wild strawberries as well, but those are never the nuisance: the Oak (acorns in autumn) and the Pine, especially this spring. We’ve had what I call pinecone-mageddon. Massive acorn drops in the fall are not uncommon, but this 2023/2024 pinecone thing seems unprecedented in my thirty years in New Hampshire. There are pinecones everywhere, and the trees are not done. If I look up, there are massive clusters still clinging to the branches of both Red and Eastern White Pine.

What in the pinecone is going on, Batman? Stress, they say. If the trees have had a tough previous year or two prior, thy will respond with a massive seed drop. Drought is the easiest scapegoat, but insects are also a cause of stress, and we’ve had our share of pine borer beetles.

I looked back a few years at annual precipitation, and with the exception of 2020 (4 inches below the 100-year mean), we’ve had above-average precipitation year over year. 2021 and 2022 were two and one-half and three inches above normal, respectively, and 2023 was thirteen inches above the annual mean. Drought does not seem like a likely cause.

I did a bit of digging, and no one seems to have yet posted any explanation for this year’s bumper crop of pinecones, but it might be bugs. Every morning, when I bring the dog out to do his “duty,” I am serenaded. We’ve got two roosters within earshot. There has been a swelling in the number of birds and a growing chorus of woodpeckers. The latter is quite common, including small and large species, so that’s nothing new, but the number of peckers pecking has grown.

It’s better than the squirrel-mageddon that carpeted roadways in the fall of 2019, but does it explain all the pinecones?

No long-term weather stress. Annual rainfall totals have been at or above the norm, so there’s no solid evidence that this is the cause.

Pine borer beetles? Maybe. Bugs would explain the peckers, but there’s no shortage of pine trees or pinecones, so I’m at a loss for what it might be. They are everywhere (pinecones), and if you’ve got some thoughts, I’d love for you to share them.

A Call for Reason and Liberty in New Hampshire’s Housing Debate

Granite Grok - Fri, 2024-04-05 00:00 +0000

As a lifelong Granite Stater with roots stretching back to when my grandparents first sought a better life in Salem in 1954, I feel a deep connection to this land and its people. My story is not unique; it’s woven from the same fabric of hope and opportunity that has drawn countless others to New Hampshire.

Yet, as we stand at a crossroads, facing a housing crisis that threatens the very essence of our community, it’s time for a candid conversation about what the future holds for us and the generations that follow.

House Bill 1291 and House Bill 1399 have ignited a debate that goes beyond mere policy. It touches on the core values that define us: freedom, property rights, and the individualism that has long been the bedrock of our state. Critics of these bills have conjured up visions of high-rise apartments sprawling across our single-family neighborhoods and out-of-state invaders displacing our communities. These claims are not just unfounded; they betray a misunderstanding of what these bills represent and the principles they uphold.

We have over 250,000 Granite Staters under the age of 18 here in New Hampshire. On average, we will or have spent roughly $240,000 per student in public education. Where are these investments supposed to live upon their graduation and entrance into adulthood? Both bills are about empowering homeowners, revitalizing our communities, and ensuring that the investment we’ve made in our youth pays dividends right here at home rather than being exported as our young people leave for lack of affordable housing.

We want to thank Joe Sweeney for this Contribution – Please direct yours to Steve@GraniteGrok.com.
You can review our ‘Op-Ed Guidelines‘ on the FAQ Page.

Thomas Hobbes, in Leviathan, spoke to the chaos of a world without clear property rights: “It is also a result of this same condition that there be no propriety, no dominion, no mine and thine distinct; but only that to be every man’s that he can get, and for so long as he can keep it.” John Locke also famously held, emphasizing the law of nature that teaches us “that being all equal and independent, no one ought to harm another in his life, health, liberty, or possessions.” These philosophical foundations remind us that the freedom to use one’s property as one sees fit is a cornerstone of a free society.

Yet, there are those among us who, while loudly proclaiming their allegiance to property rights, seek to impose their will on their neighbors’ lands. This contradiction is not lost on those of us who value genuine liberty. If one truly wishes to control a piece of property, the market provides a clear path: purchase it. This principle, supported by libertarian thought and the teachings of the Bible, underscores the sanctity of private property rights.

I must level with you, my fellow Granite Staters. The generation that has been the most vocal against preserving individual property rights has, through their actions, shifted our once solidly Republican state towards a more divided political landscape. Their insistence on exclusionary practices and policies has not only undermined the principles they claim to uphold but has also pushed our state party to the brink. It’s time to reject the fearmongering and falsehoods peddled by those who have lost sight of what truly makes New Hampshire great. Exclusionary zoning and strict regulations on who can and cannot build is turning our state blue. The towns with the harshest zoning regulations are, in fact, turning blue the fastest; this isn’t a coincidence.

Our state’s history, including the post-New Deal era and the development patterns that followed, has led us to a point where our towns and cities face economic unsustainability. The infrastructure burdens and regulatory overreach have devalued our land and stifled our growth. HB1291 and HB1399 offer a chance to reverse these trends, allowing for the development of accessory dwelling units (or “cottages”) and duplexes, thereby revitalizing our communities and making them economically viable once more.

Let us not be swayed by those who bear false witness against prosperity. My Bible teaches me the value of truth and the importance of bearing witness to it. As we consider the future of housing in New Hampshire, let us remember the investments we’ve made in our youth and the promise of a better life that drew my grandparents—and many of yours—to this beautiful state.

In supporting HB1291 and HB1399, we affirm our commitment to the foundational values of liberty, property rights, and individualism. We open the door to a future where every Granite Stater and those who wish to join our community can find a place to call home. Let’s embrace these changes, not as a departure from our values but as a return to them, ensuring that New Hampshire remains a beacon of freedom and opportunity for generations to come.

Disney has won its battle in a proxy way to remain woke against outsiders; liberals keep fighting; conservatives often accept defeat as final; do establishment leaders in D.C. succumb to more than just peer pressure? threats? should republicans engage in issues such as “income equality”—turn the issue against liberal jurisdictions? Carville Is Right, The Young People Should Flee The Democrat Party

Granite Grok - Thu, 2024-04-04 22:00 +0000

James Carville is an obnoxious loudmouth from Louisiana who has been a spokesperson for the Democrat Party since the Clinton years. Usually decked out in his LSU colors, though sixty years have passed since he walked the halls in Baton Rouge, he can still make sense with his political acumen. It was Carville who coined the phrase, “It’s the economy, stupid.”

He is sounding the alarm today, warning Democrats that they are going to take a beating in November if they don’t get their act together. His latest warning is the exodus of young people and the future strength of the Democrat Socialist Party. He is right in his assessment. The young are correct and should flee quickly.

The Democrats have invested a century and tons of money in using the education system to indoctrinate the younger generations, and they are seeing those efforts go up in flames as these adolescents are watching their future destroyed by foolish social programs designed to keep Democrats in power. They may be indoctrinated, but some can read and think for themselves, and what they see and hear concerns them.

The future of America has been mortgaged, and though so many zeros are challenging to comprehend, they know $31 Trillion is a number that will haunt many future generations. They also know that Washington is doing nothing to stop the debt number from growing except printing more money.

They see the cost of education growing exponentially, and the foolishness of “forgiving” student loans is only incentivizing colleges to hike tuition rates. Tufts University is not one of the elite schools in the country, but that doesn’t stop them from posting their tuition at $90,000 a year. Students graduating from Tufts will be strapped for years to pay off nearly $400,000 in school loans and then try to afford a place to live.

Starter homes are nonexistent, and apartments are becoming rare. Graduates will not hit their prime earning years for a decade, but they will need six-figure incomes to cover their loans and housing. Establishing a comfortable lifestyle is out of reach. The young recognize Democrat policies have eliminated the middle class, and they cannot be a part of that destruction any longer.

It is a positive element for Conservatives, watching the support of the Democrat Party erode. Democrats used to be able to count on the Jewish, Union, Black, and Brown voters. Remember the foolish comment by Biden in 2020 when he said, “If you vote for Trump, then you ain’t Black.” That is the disrespect he holds for people of color, but that is what happens when you put people in boxes.

Inner cities have been abandoned. The efforts and resources that used to be set aside for people of color are now used for illegal migrants. The Dems are bending a knee to the Radical Left who support Hamas and Palestinians over our greatest ally in the Middle East, Israel. Why should any Jewish person vote for Democrats who support their extinction?

The young have had an epiphany and they see the writing on the wall. Their future story needs to be rewritten, and that will not be done with a Socialist theme.

Zephan’s Bitcoin Sermon – March

The Liberty Block - Thu, 2024-04-04 20:07 +0000

In the Torah, in the Chapter of Leviticus 19:36, it states, “You shall have an honest balance, honest weights, an honest unit of dry good measurement, and an honest unit of wet good measurement. I יהוה am your God who freed you from the land of Egypt.” In ancient Israeli society, weights were used to measure goods as well as means of exchange, such as gold or silver, to facilitate trade.

Israel: Ongoing Links, Memes, and Commentary

Granite Grok - Thu, 2024-04-04 20:00 +0000

This is an attempt to “break out” memes, links, and my commentary about the situation in Israel / the Middle East so as to not overload the standard meme posts that I do.  My last “normal” meme post.  In these Israel-related posts I don’t just have memes such, but lots of informative links as well as hopefully-insightful commentary.

Note that this is not meant to be a day-by-day update about what’s going on.  Rather, to highlight uncomfortable truths about the actual nature of the conflict, deep-history background, and so on, as well as to show the at-present immutable nature of Islamic hatred of Jews and why that matters to today’s events.

Also note that these posts generally do not repeat information (e.g., specific links or memes) – so there is a lot of stuff in prior posts.  Please do check them out too if this is a topic of interest to you.  In reverse chronological order:

So we have an airstrike.  And tragic results.

The Palestinians claim this was an IDF strike that killed the WCK volunteers.
To me this doesn’t look like a missile from the air but rather a mortar shell from nearby. A missile would’ve destroyed the entire car…

https://granitegrok.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/wck-incident.mp4

That’s a pretty damned small hole, in my non-military eyes, for a missile strike.  How is it that the front end seems wrecked but the doors didn’t get blown off?

Netanyahu acknowledges Israel launched airstrike that killed 7 World Central Kitchen workers in Gaza | Just The News

Even as the IDF investigates:

IDF: Announcement by the IDF Spokesperson, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, following the World Central Kitchen incident:

“Last night, an incident took place in Gaza that resulted in the tragic death of World Central Kitchen employees as they fulfilled their vital mission of bringing food to people in need.

As a professional military committed to international law, we are committed to examining our operations thoroughly and transparently.

I just spoke to WCK Founder, Chef Jose Anders, and expressed the deepest condolences of the Israel Defense Forces to the families and the entire World Central Kitchen family.

We also express sincere sorrow to our allied nations who have been doing and continue to do so much to assist those in need.

We have been reviewing the incident at the highest levels to understand the circumstances of what happened and how it happened.

We will be opening a probe to examine this serious incident further. This will help us reduce the risk of such an event from occurring again.

The incident will be investigated in the Fact Finding and Assessment Mechanism: an independent, professional, and expert body.

For the last few months, the IDF has been working closely with the World Central Kitchen to assist them in fulfilling their noble mission of helping bring food and humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza. WCK also came to help Israelis after the massacre of October 7th; they were one of the first NGOs here.

The work of WCK is critical; they are on the frontlines of humanity.

We will get to the bottom of this and we will share our findings transparently.”

Attached is the full video announcement in English: https://bit.ly/3UaTfhn

So an open question to consider.  We know that Hamas et al routinely launch mortars and missiles that fall short, injuring and killing Arabs.  When’s the last time they were open and honest about that?  When’s the last time they came out and said anything that potentially accepts responsibility?  A video noting – among other things – that bad things happen in war, and that Israel has set a new standard of behavior in warfare in urban settings.  One that I suspect no other country will meet, or even attempt to:

It is called “The Fog Of War” for a reason, And I am convinced that hamas leaked the intel on the convoy movement to get the Israeli’s to fire a hellfire into the convoy to embarrass them on the world stage and heap further condemnation on them. To hamas, people dying for their cause is perfectly acceptable especially if it civilians and aid workers, better propaganda value. hamas learned well from their old soviet masters well how to manipulate the gullible western media.

The Israeli-Palestinian ‘Two State Solution’ :: Gatestone Institute

Curiously, like President Joe Biden and his top national security officials, the ambassador [Martin Indyk] ignores a crucial element: radical Islam does not tolerate the existence of a sovereign non-Islamic entity (such as Israel) on land that once was conquered by Muslims (dar al-Islam, “abode of Islam”). As most Palestinians have been creditably straightforward about, there is no place for an Israeli state.

I have the moral courage to take them at their word. Why do so many not do so?  Personally, I think that to do so would mean recognizing an evil – along with the survival-driven demand to do something about it – that is hard for most to wrap their minds around.  This is why I continue to post Oct. 7 atrocities (below), among other Islamic horrors, for people to attempt to grasp what we face.

See this video by Bill Whittle; it’s from him that I learned that “moral courage” argument.

Trigger warning: This is a very unpopular opinion that will surely anger a lot of people.

We have a war between two sides who are playing a totally different game with different rules and different definitions of what constitutes victory.

You have one side with zero restrictions and zero need to behave morally. You have the other side that is held to a higher standard of morality than anyone, and one little mess up can cause an international crisis. You have one side that wants to minimize civilian death and one side that’ll do anything to maximize it. You have one side behaving like cockroaches and hiding in every corner and under every rock and you have another side that has to use cutting edge tech to kill the bugs.

This is what we are fighting against – pure evil radicalism.

Video.  Link only.  Graphic.

From here:

GRAPHIC FOOTAGE FROM OCTOBER 7

There are 2 different movements (at least until recently they were different…):

1. “Free Palestine”. Exists only in the West.
Completely disconnected from reality.
Totally fake invented cause that doesn’t exist on Planet Earth.
Chants about Palestine, a country that never existed.
All the chants only in English, “From the river to the sea Palestine will be free” rhymes only in English, there is no such thing in Palestinian language…
Oh wait, Palestinian language doesn’t even exist. Ever wondered why?

They don’t fight for anything real. They are not helping anyone. They invented a cause because they are bored and violent.
They need to hate someone. And hating Jews is the safest and has the least consequences.

2. The real Gaza. You can see it in the video.
No one there chants “Free Palestine” or has a Palestinian flag.
No one there wants freedom from occupation, they know very well that there is no occupation, because they actually live in Gaza.
They have absolutely no idea what is apartheid, white colonization, etc. All these terms were invented only to fool the West and to get money from the West.

And what the money is used for?
This. Barbaric slaughtering of Jews, while yelling “allahu akbar”.
That’s what Arabs were doing long before Israel was even established.
Slaughtering Jews. That’s what they like to do, that’s what they want to do. They have no reason for it, they are not oppressed, not occupied, not miserable.
They are perfectly happy and they want to slaughter Jews.

Lately, these two different movements seem to merge into one.
The “Free Palestine” movement is realizing what they are actually supporting.
But instead of being horrified, they are fine with it now.
Western Liberals now want to slaughter Jews. Probably they’ll also be yelling “allahu akbar”.

A CONCLUDING THOUGHT FOR THIS POST

If the West abandons Israel, we all lose – spiked (spiked-online.com)

Israel is the front line against the 1400 year old murder machine that is Islam.

https://granitegrok.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/why-israel-is-the-front-line.mp4

As I posted on one website to a person who advocated abandoning Israel to Islam, to get peace… “First Saturday, then Sunday”.  Appeasement of those who hate you does two things:

1. It feeds their desire, not slakes it.  They see weakness and it excites them.

2. Appeasement has been tried time and time again.  E.g., the Sudetenland.  And it never works.  Santayana weeps.

Ultimately, force is the only language these people understand.

https://granitegrok.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/son-of-hamas-on-force-being-the-only-solution.mp4
